  1. So we started up past outlet 1 tonight. Rob caught first fish on the ol 606 signature series. I had a few bumps but didn't get hooked up. Switched over to a 1/8 oz sculpin with orange head and started picking up fish. We moved down past outlet 1 and picked our way along the bank. Picked up a few more. I had 3 on 4 casts at one point. Pretty solid rainbows and had a good jig bite going on a slow retrieve. I switched over to a trout patterned Doty SS and it got crushed by the big fish for the evening. Didn't measure but it was a net filler of a rainbow... Rob hooked a few more nice bows as well on the jig too. We're heading to SDC tomorrow so called it early tonight. Well be back at it tomorrow night though. Not a bad evening of fishing. Some real pretty colored up fish too. No brownies yet though...
  2. Just got down a bit ago... We won't be fishing till this evening though as the family is down. Although with this flow we'll mostly be picking our way around the edges, but hope we can still catch a few.
  3. If you haven't read the other thread by Phil you will now have plenty of water to pretty much go anywhere with the gates open pushing 11000cfs. Should be good fishing up by the dam if we see any shad come through. I'd at least start with a few drifts from the cable to check things out.
  4. What's the combined cfs of 3 gates? Looks like our night time wading plans are gonna be scrapped for this weekend... Bummer.
  5. Should have enough water for that. Stop in at Lilleys and they can show ya where you need to stay at in terms of channels and skinny water. Good luck fishing, you picked a great time to be down there.
  6. Here you go 816-532-3500.
  7. I'm gonna work on that this weekend hopefully! I set my rainbow bar at over 30in or 15lbs though... Gotta pump those numbers up so I don't go broke LOL
  8. He really is that good. Pictures don't come close to doing it justice... They almost look alive in person. That is a beautiful bow man. Turned out fantastic!
  9. Wow! Nice job, they may be small but they are beautiful. Sounds like an awesome day.
  10. Who needs sleep! Can't wait to see what you two get into! Good luck gents.
  11. Very glad you got into them. Once again our timing was a week off lol. Wish I could of been down there!
  12. Nice job man! Wish you could of landed that big one!
  13. Haha, buddy I'm just glad you were there for the crazy fish story. The other two knuckleheads with me were family, and we all know how that goes lol. Let's do it again this year on the white! Looking forward to fishing with ya again.
  14. That's a beautiful cutt there! Nice catch.
  15. How's the wading with that minimum flow going on? I've had some tough nights fishing when they were running that pattern before. You seeing fish stacked up anywhere? That flow seemed to really spread out the fish last time... Hope you have a good morning buddy.
  16. Great report, and sounds like you guys had a very successful trip. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Great looking brown there! Glad to see you having success. Save some for me! Should be down by Friday night...
  18. That looks killer. For some reason I'd call that Elvis. Just has that look to it lol. Hope you can get into them buddy.
  19. A few more in different lighting.
  20. A few more and some making of. Courtesy of @fshndoug for my sneak peek pics!
  21. So last December my cousin and I both caught a big brownie at Taneycomo jigfest. I caught her first, but had no way to net her as she was way too big for my net and she took off from my hands as I couldn't hold onto her tail... Luckily she was either super hungry or protecting a bed as Brandon caught her not 5 minutes later, and we managed to take some awful pictures and measured her lenght at 32in and height at 11in in the dark after beaching her on the rocks. She was released unharmed and swam off strong though. Hopefully I'll see her caught and released again. After this crazy fish story we both decided to get reproduction mounts done and multiple folks recommended Don Frank. We were not disappointed... Working off our pretty terrible pictures Don was able to replicate our fish superbly. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. We both have a piece of art now which looks like it's gonna swim right off the wall. It's about impossible to take pictures that will do it justice, but tried different angles and lighting as well as some comparison pics. Here's a link to our original story.
  22. Picking on my pet fish... Beautiful day though, perfect weather.
  23. Good luck! Go big of you make it out in the dark!
  24. Nice fish! Hopefully we can finally connect at jigfest this year!
