  1. I think the other reason was the turnover of the lakes and the water quality was not looking good. I agree that both places are gonna get some snow... Hopng is not as bad as they are calling for.
  2. Thanks Phil! The flow pattern looks pretty awesome if they stick with it. I think myself and the 3 with me are the only ones coming down Thursday night at this point.
  3. Hahaha, I haven't even began packing my stuff yet LOL Sounds like you got it covered!
  4. If Phil has boats available to rent my group was thinking about getting one for a day or two. Still figuring that out... Might help to spread us out some. We may have a straggler as it can get crowded 4 in a boat... Also if you guys have waders I will likely fish every night, and possibly during the day depending on boats and flows, up in the trophy area. Bring a headlamp, gloves, and warm layers if you'd like to join in.
  5. So with some less than desirable water conditions, and the snow and ice predicitions, the group made the call to postpone Jigfest on the White river till February. A handful were already down there and are going to tough it out,(and likely now have no snow and perfect water) but the rest of us decided to try our luck at Taney. Ham said to start a thread here and Phil has room to accomodate us on short notice (Thanks Phil!) so we will be staying at his place! Figure we can use this thread for coordination, Whos coming? When you gonna be there? Have a boat or no? Whatcha bringing to eat? Here's what I got so far @Johnsfolly - Friday afternoon - No Boat - Fried mushrooms and fish? @Daryk Campbell Sr - Friday afternoon - ? boat - ? food @Ham - ? - Has boat I assume - ? food @grizwilson - ? - Not sure on boat - Fried mushrooms and fish? @Terrierman - ? - ? - ? sorry Rick LOL Myself - Thursday evening - No boat - Desserts and Muffins FMCBrandon - Thursday evening - No boat - Baked beans, Chips and Dip, Crockpot Geno - Thursday evening - No boat - ? whatever we need Brandon - Thursday evening - No boat - ? whatever we need @BilletHead - Come on Marty! - Maybe Boat - Something delicious to go with already supplied BBQ sauce @duckydoty - Already there - Shoal Hopper 2? - Deer nachos and Walters!
  6. Gonna miss you guys, but I am down for February and hope you guys can make that as well! Good luck and stay safe. Now that we aren't going to Mile's you guys will likely get 1in of light snow, and perfect crystal clear water LOL. Keep us updated for sure!
  7. Man he's way out past his ears. Beautiful buck there. Hopefully he makes it through the winter hunting seasons.
  8. Thanks Ham for making the audible. I trust your judgement buddy, and also did not want to put a great person like Mile's out... QB I'll look forward to your February planning buddy, thanks for trying to wrangle all of this for us. I'm a real crappy planner...
  9. So I'm seeing folks already down, it's still looking like we'll just power through the conditions? I'd hope with all that water down there we could find some decent water somewhere right? I just need someone on Thursday at noon to let me know where I'm driving to lol Fishing was tough for me last year, but I did throw jerk baits almost the whole time while freezing my butt off. 8 inches of snow ain't got nothing on that! Mike Wounded gonna be there with Eric Eric 9NBOW Already there Cody GotMuddy gonna be there, where you staying? Les Griz? Rick Terrierman? John Johnsfolly? Daryk? Prolly missing a few, just trying to figure out the general consensus. Need a poll option lol
  10. Might I suggest we have a 4th option of move this weekend to Taneycomo, and reschedule for February?
  11. I gotta get a list of those counties good sir! Could really throw a Wrench into Jigfest!
  12. I agree Daryk and John. Safety first for sure. I don't mind tough conditions, but Ham mentioning unfishable water has me worried... They mentioned possibly moving to Taney which I'm also not opposed to obviously and if it came down to it being cancelled that's likely where our group would head to instead...
  13. Thanks Ham for the update. As I stated in the other thread I'll defer to you guys as we are all White River noobs... I'm also not opposed to moving to taney as that is the closest thing I have to home water for me depite the 4 hour drive lol. Me and my guys are down for whatever. We will likely go to taney anyways if you guys call it.
  14. Well with my party of 4 being newbies to the White I'll defer to the others. Also my sanity when it comes to fishing in inclement weather is what others have called a bit off... I tend to lack reason and common sense when it comes to chasing fish. We are down for whatever, I'd like to hear more about the trash water though.
  15. Don't worry, I was in my little econo crap box versa with the non LED headlights! Hahahaha
  16. Nothing like walking uphill, both ways, in the snow to get to that bus stop! (Says the dad who picked his kids up today from the bus stop during the snowstorm) lol
  17. I'll likely bring muffins again for those that are gonna be up and on the go. Depending on weather a hot breakfast might work too as we wait for the weather to decide on whether or not the roads are safe lol I like all food. Too bad there was such a shortage of stuff to eat last year lol
  18. Thanks QB! I too hope you can make it!
  19. Thats awesome! One day I'll do an Elk hunt... Tried to plan a work trip to our mine in Idaho. Free guide service, just gotta get out there and get tags...
  20. This man speakeths the TRUTH! No lemon sno cones for this guy!
  21. Hey now! I resemble that remark LOL! Rule of thumb is you have to fish at least as long as it takes you to drive there and back... I also commute 54 miles each day round trip to work... I keep a beater in the stable that I can put the mileage on, but we are also a family that loves to road trip and vacation. A family of 5 airfare gets pricey and I love to drive so we road trip quite a bit. Almost 200k on our Durango, put 5000 miles in 10 days on my in-laws new Toyota Sienna on our trip out west this year and loved every minute of it. We retired the Durango to my hunting/fishing rig a few months back, turned around and put 1500 miles the first weekend of owning the wifes new Tahoe on a trip to Ohio... To the original topic my Dad told me at a young age "We can't all be winners... it would throw everything out of balance." Words I have lived by as I watch the decline of our fellow man/society/way of life... I know I'm still a youngster to some at 38, but some examples of what others call driving make me realize there are def more losers than winners on the road today
  22. I think we will def see some snow on Saturday. How much still looks up in the air. Friday looks like mostly rain with maybe some mix in the morning, but still just a %50 chance of precip. With temps above freezing on everyday besides Saturday should hopefully help with the road situation. Gonna bring a shovel and a sled though! Still can't wait to get down there. Gonna be a great time for sure!
  23. Gee man deer steak for breakfast! That's living right. I guess we'll have to wait till lunch for the home made cheesecake with your name on it lol
  24. Heck I'm just looking forward to the warm weather lol. I agree though caught some nice fish in cruddy weather. May question my sanity while fishing at night during a sleet storm, but hey they were biting good
  25. Temp forecasts now show the highs going back up closer to 40 minus Saturday... Still looks like a bit of snow, but dare I jinx it and things appear to be looking a smidge better lol. The flip side is if we don't come down then it would be sunny and 60, but since we're coming rain snow or shine, with my luck I figure 12inches of snow by Sunday lol.
