  1. Also, keep in mind that this time of the year, fish may be on a bed and just knock the TW lure out of the way rather than try to eat it. Mike
  2. I have a older Johnson 150 and take it to ulrich for maintenance and if I have an issue. Been satisfied. Mike

  5. Bill, is there a TRL guide association or a place where a novice who is interested in hiring a guide can check the credentials? Mike
  6. Tournament was held and other than a little chill and a misty rain everyone seemed to have a good time. Carl W took home the bragging rights this year with a 3.89 fish. Lots of fish were caught. Congratulations to Carl W. it is only fitting that he caught it on a Ned. And for those who are asking "What's a Ned?" Well you just have to hang out with OAF folks and you'll know a huge thank you to Quillback and Muddy Water for all the work they did to make the day and picnic enjoyable. Also a huge thank you to everyone who donated time, food and/or supplies. For those that couldn't make it this year hopefully you can make it next year. Mike
  7. Did you notice any drop in water temp? Sounds like a nice 2hrs of fishing. Mike

  11. LL, you can launch from anywhere. You just have to weigh in your fish at eagle rock at 2:30. So you are good to fish Baxter Mike
  12. One of the top 25 places to retire to according to a national survey. There goes the neighborhood. Now everyone will want to retire there. Mike
  13. QB, I just ordered some 2.8 fat and already have the 2.8 skinny ones. I was using an under spin but I put a couple of the skinny ones on Dave's heads. I'm anxious to see them work. Mike
  14. Nitro, thanks for the report. Mike
  15. Dave, welcome back. Looks like those fish really hated your lure. I agree that Saturday's weather looks challenging. Should be a fun time. Mike
  16. Amen to this comment. Mike
  17. QB, sounds like you had to work for every fish. The 4 lb LM must have got you blood pressure up a bit. Thanks for the information. Hopefully I'll be up there Friday. Mike
  18. BC, I am no expert but I use fluorocarbon line on my spinning rods. For wacky worms and flukes I use a light weight swivel about 18" above the hook. The leader is the same line I have spooled on the reel. This eliminates line twist and the weight of the swivel doesn't interfere. I use the Palomar knot only. Again, I am no expert but this works for me. I'm sure others have additional solutions. Mike
  19. Champ & Donna, nice outing. Thanks for the two-part report. Awesome day for sure. Hope to see you guys Saturday. Mike
  20. Macsimus, you certainly nailed them. Nice pictures. Thanks for the report. Mike
  21. Today at Mass our priest said that we owe our life to Jesus as we are always watched over. He used an example of 3 envelopes. Write your name on one and put it inside the 2nd envelope. Write the name Jesus on the 2nd envelope. Then place that envelope into a 3rd envelope and write the name God in Heaven on that one. It reminds us that we are wrapped in them. At that moment, the thunder, lightening and downpour began. Very powerful. Happy Easter to all the Ozark Angler Formum members. Mike
  22. rps, when things get slow, pick up a Ned. Nice pictures and thanks for the report. Mike
