  1. He dropped something and leaned down to get it... don't know about low light conditions - could have been good light. Regardless, stitches in his leg and facial scratches. He was fortunate.
  2. Not sure exactly when this happened but it was late yesterday before they shut down generation. No bodies in the trees... a rag in the boat with some blood on it. Called MWP. Location: just across the lake from Short Creek on the bluff. Makes me think he was underway AFTER dark because you can see the tops of trees/bluff above the fog in daylight hours. He wasn't going FULL throttle I don't think or it would have been much worse, as in injury and damage.
  3. I've used them on my phone on Table Rock - works pretty good.
  4. I don't know... I've had one officer tell me I need lights on all my boats even if they don't go out at night. Another officer told us he liked the all round strobe LED flashing lights we put on the jons when they go out in the morning fog. We had a guest get a warning for not having his life jackets accessible, stowed in a compartment, instead of out on the deck, a subject that was covered on the Table Rock forum a few years ago. I want them on our lake... and I'll do the best I can to be in compliance... we'll see what happens.
  5. Trail cam on the bank to take a pic of the thieves?
  6. You have to figure them out each trip down... it changes every year.
  7. They've been on our lake more this summer than all the summers combined... it's good but hasn't helped the kayak situation. Just got off the lake and passes 3 big groups heading down from Lookout - all 3 were spread out all the way across the lake. They had to split to let me through. No fog this time of day but it'll move in soon.
  8. And the trophy area in general just isn't fishing as well as normal. Dicky said he hasn't fished up there in over 6 weeks now.
  9. Thanks for both fishing reports! Both reports have the same issues with fishing - hot and cold. Last week, Jeff Weable's fishing experience was close to the same, finding fish later in the week after trying numerous spots and techniques. Seems like these fish are staying in schools and moving around a lot - and that's what Steve Dicky, one of our fishing guides, has been telling me all summer. There are some really great fish in the lake and there are good numbers too.... but it's just not as easy to catch them this summer for most people, especially first-timers.
  10. May be this winter we can do something... I have a fair amount of video and audio stuff and I'm sure we can get more. Do a seminar in Springfield?
  11. Published on Jul 13, 2016 Fourth and final part of our Ned Rig discussion. Thanks again to John and his crew at Fin & Feather Sports Shop for providing the venue, the set up, and the tear down. Thanks to all who took the time to come out. Trust it was of value to you.
  12. Published on Jul 7, 2016 Third part of our series covering the Ned Rig in great detail, from gear and rigging to when, and how, to fish it. Focus is on fishing the little rig in Ozark lakes like Table Rock, Bull Shoals, and Stockton, but a lot of the info applies all across the country. Many thanks to John Mooney and his crew at Fin & Feather Sports Shop in Springfield, MO for providing the opportunity and the facility. See them for our Ozark Finesse Heads, and any other Ozark area fishing needs.
  13. IMO - it's better to not allow non guests to use private land access instead of charging, especially that much. But in their defense, they have a lot of $$$ invested in that land/buildings and have expenses that not many people consider, ie. taxes, insurance, common maintenance.

  15. Podman, I'm moving this to the Niangua River section. I think you'll get better responses there. Thanks!
  16. @Smalliebigs Tried to send you a PM but couldn't.
  17. Were these bass kept in the same river/stretches you guys made your float on?

  21. Pump didn't work but Curtis told him to spray Carb cleaner in the carb and I believe it worked. He's been fishing all day with 4 units running. Thanks
  22. I saw the same 2 characters in another video on FB but in this one the bass gets the shad - takes it down. So there's a sequel...
  23. Guest staying here. Just had it overhauled. Ran good first day. Now it's doing this. I think it's a gas issue- something is choking off the gas when it hits a certain RPM. I'll have to get make and model if needed. It's on an old tracker pontoon. Thanks motor_trouble.mp4
