    I've sold a couple rods I've had over the years but that's it. One was a custom 14 weight made by some famous guy at the Golden Gate Casting and Angling Club in San Francisco. He was a real nice guy and I sold it back to him. I had his contact info in the rod tube. I've only used 3 rods my whole life for trout fishing. A custom my dad had made for me, a Sage VPS and now a Helios. All fast 5 weights.

    First trip there was in my mom's belly. LOVE that place. I strictly fly fished but saw an old guy hammering fish with an ultra light. I wanted one so bad. We called the guy Ole Dubber and he lent me one and showed me how to fish jigs. I went home and ordered everything to make an ultra light and tie jogs. My dad just shook his head when he saw it. I still have that rod.

    My guy said the industry is just now getting up to speed with the increases due to the new gizmos. It's like he told me when my daughter started driving and I said she isn't driving my wife's BMW. He said: No, but she could hit your neighbors Mercedes and cost a bundle. So insurance on older vehicles will be going up too.

    Just watch our insurance rates skyrocket with all the new gizmos. My insurance guy said rates are steadily climbing due to things like backup cameras, backup monitors and forward facing monitors that are all in the bumpers. A fender bender turns into a total loss.

    It works on cranks and jerk baits. It’s heavy and slides down the line so wouldn’t work on dainty stuff. Spot lock helps.

    Get one of these. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-e-z-lure-retriever Or the ones on a pole. Mine has retrieved the same mega bass 4 times and all out of rivers. Plus numerous other baits my buddies hung up. Spot lock helps a bunch too.
