    Actually the prisoners in Pacific MO had been making sand bags since March for the town. Literally thousands of bags. The sheriff bought all of the prisoners McDonald's meals. Some hadn't had a hamburger in 6 years.

    Another article said the Corp recently surveyed a bunch of levees north of St Louis and found a significant amount of them were over the approved height.     I heard the interview with the District Engineer and he said they were closing 55 because they had conversations with the NWS about the "coming" rain. He said they work closely with the NWS to void problems before they happen. And the NWS said they were forecasting 1-3 inches over the next two days which would put those bridges in trouble. Hmmm??

    I have a buddy that did that too, Vernon. He would always run out there yelling and cussing when his house got hit. Then one day when he was ranting and screaming at the guy who hit his house the guy made a bee line for him. He gets out of the cart, all 6'6" of him, says to my buddy. "You're the idiot that moved on the golf course so just shut the F up" My buddy tucked tail and went back in the house.
