I've never caught a bobcat on camera but I'd like too. I had an armadillo on camera about a month ago. Just passing through I guess. I want to be the first in our area to get a black bear on camera. I live about a mile up the hill from the MO River bottoms so there's a chance...
We regularly see hawks, yotes and fox in our yard. Particularly on my camera system. But the rabbits and squirrels keep multiplying and feed openly in the yard. We have baby squirrels and rabbits right now. One year the rabbits got so bad we got the air rifle out. I had rabbit doo all over in my garage and I couldn't figure out where he was. Moved the lawn mower and they were under there. It was rabbit carnage that day my friend...😂
I was just kidding. It is an awesome looking fly though!! I did actually put a fly rod in my truck for smallie fishing last week. However it stayed there on my last trip.
I grew up fly fishing. Literally ran around the house with a car antenna with string on it when I was like 2 years old. I'm 63. I guess about 10 years ago I really lost my fire for it. Honestly, I got tired of 5 and 6x tippets and the delicate nature of fly fishing for trout.
I had one small one on a buzz bait this weekend other than that I couldn’t get a sniff on topwater. Buzzer, WTD or pop r. Maybe they need some time after the cicadas to adjust.
New contender for best Italian sandwich on The Hill. Volpis is selling sandwiches. They use bread from Union Loafers. Which might be the best bread in STL.
I just had a steel bridge cut out because the “good” tooth cracked and got infected. I swear it was a saws all. I passed on the implants. I’m 63 and they are in the back. I got the bone graft in case I loose more teeth and need the implants to eat😂
I had my alarm set for 4 o’clock. But I woke up at 3:45. So I grabbed some coffee and headed out the door. Put in the river before daybreak. WT 74 and a nice green color to the water. Ran about 5 miles I guess and dropped the troller. Caught one on a buzz bait right off the bat and thought I would get some good top water action. But that didn’t happen.
I was catching little ones here and there then I caught the 19”, 3.24 pounder on a whacky worm. Fished for about a mile maybe more when I caught the 21” that weighed 4.34 pounds. Smoked a Pete’s jig. I stuck with those two baits to finish out the morning.
I was done by 9:30 and headed home. Only saw a few boats after about 8 AM. Other than that I had it to myself. All spots and smallies. Really great day!
