I fished 2 1/2 days of the big bass tour around the Indian Point Area. Friday morning their was heavy fog so I started close to the resort I stayed at. I started with a jerkbait and caught one short Smallmouth on a point. No other signs of life so I decided to try a jewel finesse jig around some docks near the point. Boom I got a solid hit and set the hook on a Largemouth that would later win the hour I weighed her in! When she swam away from the dock another Largemouth about the same size was with her. I figured I had a good pattern to run but unfortunately no other keeper fish for the day. Second morning I started in the same spot. Again I started on the point but tried a slow sinking rip/slash bait and caught one Short spot. I approached the dock and on the first cast Boom a solid hit and I set the hook on a Largemouth that would later get me a 3rd place finish for the hour. I left the dock settle for about 5 minutes and circled back. I made 4-5 casts and another Thump, I set the hook and this fish was pulling the hardest. As I got the first glimpse of her I saw she was a nice bronze back. I scooped her in the net and boy what a pretty fish! This would get me a 5 place finish for another hour. I went on to fish more docks but only found short fish the rest of the day. Sunday morning I knew my odds of catching another by the dock would be slim but I had to try! No luck and could not buy a bite so I called it a day around 10:30. Here are the pictures of each keeper fish along with the weigh in results for the hours I weighed in (Jeff Markovich). The dock I fished was the first one in on a point. It was on a steeper Bank and had a short walkway. The fish were under the first slip so I estimate 8ft of Water. I tried to find other docks in the Indian point area that were similar but they only produced some shorts. Looking back I probably should have tried in between the docks and more on the points trying different depth ranges. I only get to fish TR a couple times a year so I learn a lot each time I go. I will post some go pro video later once I edit the footage just to fish catches.

Awesome fishing and report guys! It's pretty nice having so many stellar fisheries within a 3-4 hour drive of where I live. TR is a challenging lake and it keeps me coming back for more. -
That’s a nice chunk! Congrats

Stockton & Table Rock have plenty of shad/craws/gills/etc so I don't think competition is an issue. I agree that a limit of spots typically won't win you a tournament though. You have to adjust your tactics and location to target the LM on Table Rock. This I am still learning.........

I have a 2009 Champion 186 Fish Hunter going up for sale in the next few weeks. 150 Merc. Opti. I will have it at the Big Bass Tour event next Thursday-Sunday at the Rock.

Fish were probably still suspending for the most part. That’s my guess anyways.
-
I would go in settings and restore to factory defaults. If that does not clear it I would make sure the unit has the latest software update. If still no luck call Humminbird support.

Or you want us to drill holes in our spooks lol!

The A rig is clearly a controversial topic and will continue to be. I do not believe anyone can pick it up and go catch a 20 lb sack in a tournament with it. Their is an art to it just like fishing any other lure or plastic. I myself don’t fish it and that’s my choice but I won’t bad mouth an angler across the lake throwing it, that’s their choice. I have confidence in other lures and believe I can catch the same quality of fish using these as an A rig. Let’s see what wins the big bass tour in a few weeks I bet a lot people will say the A rig. Regarding fizzing a fish I prefer to do it between the crushers and above the throat hole. It’s not a hard procedure and if you don’t know how I suggest you learn it especially fishing the Rock. Their are some good YouTube videos on this subject and a hyperdermic needle is all you need to do it. Tight lines.
