  1. Power per cubic inch. More from less = less life there are occasional examples that buck the odds, they also cost more per inch. On road, off road, marine, 2, 4 and diesel regardless of manufacturer. It’s better with today’s tighter controls but the ratio still applies. Really shows up in V6 outboards where multiple tunes are an option at same displacement. Bear in mind we remember hearing of it and never as a percentage of the population.
  2. This guy does good work and has a few props around. Edges are sharp and proper.
  3. Absolutely horrendous. Just remaining standing on a hard surface is challenging
  4. 3lb 4oz from cut line to top 12. Insanely tight field.
  5. MDC has gone to no wake/idle on several of the waterfowl places. park board could use that example I’d buy a pass if I could take a full size boat and launch it. Rowing isn’t real exciting, fishing vegetation is...
  6. No one should be leading with Chris lane in the line up! It’s just not right
  7. I have used the blakemore stuff to lengthen time for ice buildup. Made for more casts and did help the eyelets repel. No difference on line management tat I could tell. Same for the ardent stuff
  8. Prepare yourself for no vegetation in the lakes. Plenty of rocks.
  9. That’s a lengthy description of “I got distracted with a pellet gun” 🙂
  10. Seems like they do. Smallies, walleye, etc. like right before a stairwell. I think you walk under it too. Maybe on the way to the lunker pond? With 2 kids, I’ve been there a few times though I can’t say I’ve seen all of it. Certainly saw what they pointed out ... great story on the replica cabin about uncle buck and a noodles flathead from the sac.
  11. Look in Arkansas for that size rig. I saved a few grand by driving to ft Smith. The savings convinced my wife it was a safe deal.
  12. I have a 648 ldsv war eagle. Use almost exclusively for ducks. 40 Honda on a jack plate. Drafts and handles great. If I ever replace, it will be a 1754 for a little more stability fishing and 3 fat guy wide seats
  13. If close or desire to see more than once in a year, the conservation pass is the deal. Two trips and money ahead plus 2 extra passes for guests.

    Walleye

Gave the stickbait walleye bite a try. No good.
  15. We have a pontoon on Stockton. It’s darn near the extent of pleasure boats and honestly, pleasurable 🙂 never have a wake issue with the bass boat LofO, geez....it gets big and unpredictable in direction. Always seems like ski moguls to navigate with a boat. The diamonds form and collapse in a rhythm u just can’t out guess. Boat just crashes to the bottom of a trough that wasn’t there seconds before. It’s hell on kidneys. I’ll take the rollers from the wind.
  16. All depends on the size. Having owned, altered and developed duck lakes in the Osage valley, I can assure you it is much cheaper than that unless 100’s of acres are involved.
  17. The formula is missing the common denominator at the national level.
  18. At Nevada up 71, you start finding good clay to work with to build a lake if you go that route. USGS has extensive maps to predict water holding you’ll want to reference before buying. Seeing water and holding water don’t always align. Lots of dry ponds in the ozarks if it quits raining.
  19. I have enough painting stuff I need to get better at it. I’m struggling to get shades I like with Createx, especially greens and to an extent blues. I’ve pitched more “blends” than I’d like to admit Am I peeing in the wind to use apple barrel or whatever Michael’s or Wally World carries for greens?I know it’s crazy thick and thinning will be key. Is the pigment particle size really too big to shoot reliably? .3mm gravity fed. I could re configure to shoot 30+ and have been playing around thinned to shoot 10-20 psi.
  20. The idle and learn mentioned above by Dutch is sound advice. Don’t assume the channel represented on your gps is spot on. There are places the channel is safest, others the flats are less hazardous. With the lake lower now, the pool level hazards are pretty visible. Lake level impact is a must. I grew up around Truman and still hate running it 1 foot high! Too many “markers” disappear. Look at maize creek from the highway now and you can see some good examples. The “where” to leave the channel and re-enter is a seat time and search deal.
  21. From bassfan story on the winner. Good to read FLW did take some precautions.
  22. Are foot throttles the majority or majority or minority in glass boats? My first hot foot was 20 years ago in conjunction with steering trim. I can’t imagine not having both of those now. Only down side I’ve found is wearing flip flops or sandals and forgetting the pull back bar across the top of your foot. I know a few guys that don’t have them primarily based on the boat didn’t come with one.
  23. We went to Stockton yesterday. Beautiful day, casting was way more frequent than catching! Still super nice to be out.
  24. Go throw em! Even if it’s just casting with no catching it’s better than being stuck at the house. I heard of several eating warts on TR last weekend with 45 water
  25. It occurred to me while casting today, we have an honor system for legal catches, lures, life jackets, kill switches, etc. seems easy enough to put a speed limit on zones, areas or conditions and go by honor/partner/Marshall word. For example, reed paths on the big O are 45. 3 boat wide channel is wide open.
