Well, at least you got out and had some luck! Problem was you didn't head to BS like the original plan. That's my answer and I'm sticking to it! Heading down Saturday for 4 days. I might even try to catch a walleye on purpose. Guy that is coming with me likes to fish but not a good caster/fisherman. Might put a spoon on for him.

I need to do that for all of my stuff. If I died and my wife sold everything for what she thinks I paid for it she would short change herself quite a bit! lol

I have bought two pair from Cableas bargain cave. One neoprene set and one regular set with neoprene socks. Like new but close to half price as they had to be marked "soiled". Pretty sure people buy them for that one big trip and then return them afterwords saying they didn't fit right.

Just ran it through the handy dandy mortgage calculator. $100,000 at 2.9% for 20 years is $550.00/mo. (Doubt you could get 2.9, maybe 3.9) Total payments $131,905. Payment goes up to $601 at 3.9. My first house cost less.

Tan-Tar-A Resort Sold and becoming Margaritaville

Do they all have Salt Life stickers on their trucks even though they are a thousand miles from the ocean? -
Need one of these. A guy up in Canada that had an off grid cabin had one and said he never had to charge his trolling motor batteries all season. Not sure if he had the Stealth or Minn Kota. https://www.minnkotamotors.com/Battery-Chargers/On-Board-Chargers/DC-Alternator-Chargers/ http://www.stealth1charging.com/

Makes sense, will do.

Good to know. Been watching the releases and I saw they had dropped them and didn't know why since they were still only 7 ft from flood level on the lake.

Actually going through Google Earth and thumbing back on the years I found very low flow satellite images on 9/28/09 so I can clearly see the deepest channel so really guidance on minimum flows would be helpful.

So far I have only played once with my Ozarkian boat that I built but it was running 23,000 cfs so no worries navigating. Heading down in two weeks. Before I get myself into a bad situation, which shoals will be navigable going upstream in my wooden jon / 9.9 motor without killing the motor and at what flow? Skeg is 8" below bottom and draft is about 2" with two of us aboard so figure I need 12" to be safe. Actually a better question would be at what flow is each shoal navigable (12") going upstream? Also, if there is suggestions like "stay left, center, right, watch for the one big rock at the top but otherwise no problem" etc. If some aren't I assume I'll just have to launch and fish them pool specific. Really only concerned about the shoals in my local area at present. Will venture further in future years. Dew Eddy Partee Three Chutes The Narrows Tucker Wildcat

Nice haul! And you didn't even have to plant!

Inline spinner like a Rooster Tail? I have limited experience on trout down here but I was fishing a hair jig and my buddy fished a white rooster tail and caught as many as I did. He just straight retrieved, though.

I'd be scared to pick and eat anything other than a morel. I'd surely pick the wrong thing and die or worse.

Let me post a pic! Oh, wait. I can't. This weekend I'll download my whole photobucket album and get it reloaded to Google. If anyone else is in the same boat, cut and pasted from that other big bass boat site that shall remain nameless. Photobucket to Google... https://www.picbackman.com/tips-tric...ve-on-android/ Please note that although Google photos says it has a 5gb storage limit, that is only for photos with a resolution higher than 16mb or video's with a resolution higher than 1080p. If you choose the option to "downsize" photos/video's, it will reduce the resolution of those pictures and video's to 16mb or 1080p and give you unlimited storage capacity. It won't have any effect on your other photos/videos so don't worry about that. The first step would be to download all of your photos from Photobucket using the above instructions. I have never used Photobucket so I can't help much with that part. You may have to search Google for help. Once you have all of your pics downloaded, you can use the steps below to upload them into Google Photos. This will most likely be easier to do on your computer than your phone/tablet and I would suggest using Google Chrome as your primary browser since it works best with the Google Apps, etc. but that is up to you. Before you begin, locate the file on your computer that contains all of your photos and sort them by date, oldest to newest. That way when they are uploaded, they will be in that same order. Once you upload them, you can't change the order or re-sort them. 1. - Login to your gmail account name/password. (if you don't have a Gmail account, you will need to set one up). 2. - Click on the 9 dots in the upper right hand corner and click on the "Photos" icon. 3. - Click on the 3 lines in the upper left corner and click on Settings. Select Unlimited. Click "back" to go back to the main page. 4. - Click "UPLOAD" near the top and navigate to the location of the file on your computer that holds all of your photos and begin the upload. 5. - Once all of your photos are uploaded, you should then download the "Google Photos" app to your phone and tablet so you can sync each of your devices. Now, when you use any device, you will have access to all of your photos. You have the option to delete all of the photos from your phone or computer if you like to save space but I suggest making a full backup on an external drive 1st, you know... in case Google one day files for bankruptcy or if N. Korea happens to blow up the Google servers or something. 6. - Once you have all of your pics uploaded, you should review the settings on each of your devices, especially if you have a limited data plan since uploading photos and videos will use data. You can select the option to ONLY upload photos and videos using WiFi. I should also mention that since everything will be stored in the cloud, you will use data when viewing your photos and videos as well.

I've been dealing with all of the ads and slow loading for quite a while now since it was what I knew but this obviously kills it. It really is sad since it will kill a lot of old links that I (and I assume a lot of others) figured would be there for posterity. It's not an ego thing, either. For example my wooden jon boat build thread is now useless for someone who might use it for ideas or inspiration to build their own. My V8 Miata build thread is gone. Many people used it as "the guide" to build their own V8 Miata without having to buy a kit to swap the motor. It had thousands of posts and hundreds of thousands of views. I'm not about to take the hours to re-link all of the photos so it's just...gone. No guarantees that Google or flickr won't do the same thing next year or the year after but I'll take my chances.

Putting this here because it is more widely viewed than general forum. So, new terms and conditions from Photobucket 6/28/17. No more 3rd party hosting of photos for free members. So every photo that I have ever posted on a forum now looks like this Looks like I need to download all of my Photobucket photos and re-host on Google photos or flickr. Sucks because I have a lot of old car build threads, etc that no longer will have photos. I've used Photobucket for 8-10 years so lots of dead links going to be had for people. For example, I have looked at other people's old wooden boat building threads for help and now the photos will all be gone. Screw Photobucket.

My Ranger took me right at 40 hours to strip, scrape and re-carpet so $2000 sounds about right for labor only for a shop. I wouldn't do it for any less.

I guess I got lucky. The day we arrived to look at houses last April was the first time we had ever seen the lake. Found we loved on day two and bought it. Still happy with my choice. No buyer's remorse. Stupidly I keep looking at Zillow and haven't found one I lake more. Need to stop doing that. One day I will find one and then what? lol. I like that it is a quiet lake.

Serious question - since I seem to have lucked out on my lake choice of Bull Shoals. How long before it is "discovered"?

Harvested the garlic last night. One string down and one to go. Hung in the shed to dry for 4-6 weeks.

Great pics and sounds like a great time! -
Here's the scapes as cut from the plant. They were almost inedible last night. Not sure why, but really woody. Maybe too old. I don't know. Salad was good. First time she had made it. Raw yellow squash and northern beans with pesto sauce.

I don't know, haven't tried any at 2/3 brown. I just cut mine off when I harvest the garlic. As long as they are green and firm I suspect they would be fine. I do think you can cut them off of live plants even if you don't harvest the plant without hurting the plant. We typically plant Halloween, harvest July 4th but they are early this year. As far south as you are I'm not sure if you will have better luck with fall or spring planting. We plant that late so the ground is about ready to freeze so we don't get growth in the fall. Just want it to scarify over winter. I do know in more southern states they spring plant so they don't risk getting growth in the fall and then winter killing but obviously your wild stuff doesn't die even if it grows in fall so I just don't know... Might have to test plant both seasons. You might want to go to a later November planting for fall.
-
One last thing, if you are going to plant garlic plant locally grown. Don't plant store bought. I haven't tried it but was told it won't grow. Also save back the largest ones to plant back. All of it will grow but you can continually increase the size of future crops by planting back the best specimens.

We are having scapes tonight.
