  1. Can anyone tell me what the mutton creek area looks like today? Was gonna come up from over an hour away if it's not chocolate milk. Thanks everyone in advance
  2. Hey wrench, what derby are you talking about and where abouts? Just didnt know if he was having one of his Tin Boat derbys
  3. It was a pretty good friend of my fishing partner and Im not going to name any names but yes, That is exactly who supplied the release boat and for the longer trips towards aunts there were trailored that way and the pontoon was put in the water closer to there. And I 100% percent believe him but im not trying to make anyone else believe my story. Not looking to argue with anyone around so just wanted to state the facts that I believed to be true is all.
  4. From talking with the release boat there was close to 600 fish released anywhere from long creek all the way up past Aunts creek. As of when we talked with him there had been 0 lost at the release boat before they were turned loose. There was a couple that needed to be fizzed while in the tank but returned to normal shorly after. Alot of these fished were release there at the Marina in Long creek if they needed fizzed just to take the stress off them for another boat ride. Take it with a grain of salt because this is just what he told us and I am for sure not saying that this is 100% true data as I was not there for all of it. I know we weighed in 2 fish all weekend and both made small checks and both were very healthy and lively when we weighed in. So take it is for what it is worth.
  5. I can assure you they were not all released in long creek. In reality there were only a few released there
  6. we had some 56 today near Ruark and Mutton, tough day though, only 10 crappie to be had most still around 10-12 ft
  7. One more small check for us in the last hour. Couldnt get on a big bite at all this week. Pretty much threw everything we could. Lol weather man was the biggest loser of the weekend, I know the weather was great but he called for clouds and wind on Saturday and it never showed and cost us the whole day really for what we had planned. Oh well, great weekend away and will try again next year. Congrats to everyone that checked in some form or another.
  8. Tough to beat after a good day fishing!! Only 1 8th place check today but we will take it. Now time to relax!!!
  9. Ive passed many deer thinking the same thing as you. With that said, A deer like that around are parts is pretty rare. There is nothing at all with doing what ever you choose to do. As anyone will tell you, If that is your passion, pursue it how you wish and noone can tell you other wise. Post as many of those as youd like. I love seeing all the pics on here weather it is the fish or the deer. Great Post
  10. There def are a few good ones left out there. I once filled up the boat in Mount Vernon and left my wallet on the rail of the boat and headed to Stockton Lake. Somewhere around miller my wallet fell off into a yard and a lady mowing her yard found it. She took it to the mt vernon police department because it had my military ID in it and they called to let me know she had found it and returned it. They never said who she was but I can promise you whoever she was is an awesome person and a life saver!!!
  11. Nope
  12. Sorry, the HWGA...SOSA comment was merely a reference back to my military cadence days. Lol and was aimed more towards the comments about where the thread was headed. Not the initial information which I think everybody would benefit from. Good Info in there for sure!
  13. Don't take me wrong gentlemen, the original post was very awesome information that is benifical to absolutely everyone. My post was to only try and stop where the thread was headed after the fact. It again was about to turn into something off topic. There can never be too much info on how to help keep fish healthy but when you turn it into a platform to bash tourney fisherman some take offense. I fish about 2 or 3 derbys a year to fill in as a sub because of my schedule. I am no way better than anyone else and we all have our views. All of the men I fish these events with are very meticulous in their fish care and as the rear of the boat fisherman I am normally the one checking on the fish every 5 min and after every run we make at the request of the driver. I'd like to hope most boats are doing the same thing.
  14. .........Here we go again..........same old S*&^ again.....Lol This could be a 4 page thread by tomorrow at this time with the pros and cons from each side battling it out. Lol
  15. https://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/WP04Web/app/searchRegattaWeb?action=Search+Again Go to this website and do a search on whatever month or Lake youd like and you will find any tourney youll need.
  16. We really need to drop everybodys worst week. LOL
  17. I dont believe it is interesting many people at all. We all got on here to read about the original topic and it has gone way off of that. Im sure that is all he was saying. For the most part this forum is a great place to learn and share FISHING strategies. MOST of us don't want to get into things we argue about. There will never be common ground on black and white topics. weather it is Government, race, religion, and so on and so forth. Most of us get on here to get away from everyday crap like that.
  18. I believe its depending on where you are at. I fished last week in water from 3 ft all the way out to 14 ft. Depending on the time of day. this same pattern was used a couple days ago with the same results. 2 limits each time we went out. Boat was in 12-14 ft casting to banks. earlier it was the shallower they were. Both days we had our limits and were off the water by 10 am. Im am sure that trolling is working also for sure. Of the 30 we cleaned the first day only 1 of them still had eggs. At least half of the remaining ones werre SPAWNED OUT females and the other half good sized males. We caught at least that many shorts also (9.5-9.75) Had a Ball for sure.
  19. LMAO Jerry, At least when I crappie fish Im not setting still. I beat the banks or throw deeper also. I never minnow fish, no offense just not my thing. So I can relate to what your saying. That said, when we were killing the crappie last week I had a gentalman, wife and 3 kids roll up to around 10 ft of me, not exaturating, and had the balls to ask if he was in my way. In a normal everday voice. Didnt have to raise it all. I did not have to look hard to notice what they were throwing. I politely responded with NOPE, weve only got 1 left to catch and we are out of here. Which we did right in front of him and rolled out. Some people have way more balls than this guy i guess.
  20. Here we go again...................
  21. Couldnt have said it any better 2Short. When that bite slowed down at 8 am we actually just dropped our road runners down and turned the trolling motor on to around 3 speed (on MY 55lb) (pretty slow still) and just stayed between 12-15 ft and started catching them that way
  22. We were up Sunday morning and had limits by 10 am. Great Morning! after cleaning them the were alot of males and several females but only 1 still with eggs. The others were spawned out. All in all it was an amazing morning and we had just as many short fish as we did keepers. Biggest fish was only around 14". SEE May 6th Crappie hunt post for more info
  23. I played in the morning then mowed and did honey dos in the afternoon. It was our first trip up this spring due to work and vacation. We only had till 10 to fish and caught our limits at 954. Lol
  24. Well I can say we had a pretty good morning. On the water at 6 and Fish count....2 LMB (keeps) 1 drum, 1 white, 1 channel cat, and the only thing we kept was the 30 keeper crappie we had before 10. We had just as many shorts as well. All were caught on road runner heads with curly tail body' between RB and Mutton. We caught several early in 4-6 ft of water but by 730 that bite was over. The rest were caught in 8-14 ft. Not a single walleye this trip but we had to leave and really didn't try for any.
