Maxima still shows the 3# on their website in the Oneshot spools. I like the Ultra Green but 4# is as small as I've used.

Throw a rubber worm right on a lily leaf, then wiggle it off and let it drop straight down. The lilys I used to fish weren't quite that large, but I think the technique would still work. Somebody needs to teach me about how these coordinates work, or you all need to include driving directions.

I see almost the same technique at RRSP all the time. Guys use fly rod with strike indicator (bobber to me) and bead-head or cone head flies (same as jigs, float like a sinker); some of them call it nymphing. Years ago when I used spinning tackle, I threw a bobber and fly for trout in still water. (water filled bobber casts a long way) So the concept works and isn't really a long way from worm under bobber that I fished as kid with 12' cane pole or a bank-cut willow "rod". Those store bought "crappie jigs" have caught quite a few small mouth bass when fished without bobber in the streams, so you might want to cast your jigs there too. If those you show don't catch a fish it will be your fault; not using them or using them where there are no fish.

So my 17# guess wasn't way off, but Johnsfolly was closer at 26#. I knew that guy wasn't THAT big.Really is hard to tell with nothing for perspective.

So now you got her a job and she won't have any time to load up the boat or to haul it either. Nothing gets in the way fishing like a job. After work them old feet will hurt too much to even drive you down to the lake. You be better off to look for a gigging partner who already has a boat and can drive. I'd just start with clean new lumber rather than take one apart, sand and stain then rebuild. Kinda like buying a lapstrake boat and disassembling it to repaint. But I always was a lazy one. If I find one of those boxes, I'll let you know. Not big enough to keep my stuff in, anyhow.

Not an MDC decision, MDC has to comply with a state statute. Statutes are made by the legislature and governor. As I recall it has to be 3 months unpaid and when payment is made privilege is restored. Bet over all it cost MDC a bit of cash to do the suspend/reinstate process over and over for some people. Some states revoke drivers licenses or occupational/professional license (think doctor/lawyer), kind of stupid imo to take away the means to earn the money to pay with, but they do it. I suspect anyone that owns a boat or two and has the time to fish can probably pay for their kids needs. Or could afford a lawyer to get the court orders modified. Fishing ain't a cheap hobby. Ar. used to have a deal where Dad could sleep in the jail on weekends til his jail obligation was filled, worked with a couple guys that were avoiding payment that way.

Yeah they been doing that for years and almost every month the numbers are high. The thing is though most of those revoked for child support probably wouldn't buy a permit any way. Several years ago I clicked a button somewhere that got me on an MDC email list and I always get notices of that sort of stuff, month after month you'd think they would run out of offenders but they never do.

Mike you don't have to have the fishing permit to get the border permit, I don't have the fishing permit to get the trout permit either. Your drivers license or other ID that shows your age is all that is needed.

I know I tied a Griffith’s Gnat for ten or twelve years before I ever saw one in a store, simple tie using two of my favorite materials and it happened to work. It don't matter what the name over the door says it's all one company, at least until BassPro is done ripping out the parts they want. It surprises me that the Sherman Act doesn't apply. Maybe keeping the Cabella's name is the means of avoiding antitrust suits. I would think that once BP has carved out the pieces they want and the select locations the Cabela's name will be up for sale?

Get the Jack Russell, life's too short to go without a dog and the dog can keep you company on the boat. Maybe you can get a neighbor to do the hookups or just leave the trailer on all the time. Heck, after thirty five years it's time to trade up anyway. Get two Jack Russells they can keep you warm at night and eat the left overs you cook.

You are going to need Herself to do the trailer hookup and unhook then and maybe the launch/load then? Not my business, but it is possible Her opinion should be counted twice. Or buy the boat in Her name.
