  3. You can also have your iPhone go back to taking pictures in .JPG format. Larger file, but compatible with everything. How to Change iPhone Camera to Shoot JPEG Format Pictures Again Open the “Settings” app on the iPhone and go to “Camera” Choose “Formats” and select “Most Compatible” to shoot photos in JPEG format on iPhone camera Exit out of Settings
  4. @jdmidwest Your bird pictures are very good! They aren't the easiest animal to get good photos of. I'm assuming you didn't use your cell phone?
  5. Congratulations on your retirement! You are in the right place to enjoy it.
  6. Gamechangers look/swim so good in the water. I'm sure you've all watched a bass ignore a fly or lure, until you started jerking/twitching/darting it, right? Suddenly the bass wants to eat it! That style of retrieve has worked best for me with Gamechangers. Everybody has their favorite lures and/or flies. And I've seen it many times, where 2 guys fishing the same lure/fly ...one catches lots of fish, the other catches few...its strange how that can happen, but it does. The first time I tried these made me a believer that bass especially really like these. Sometimes other fish do too.
  7. Those look really good! Its the Ned rig for a fly rod? Or maybe even for spinning gear! Hm. I might have to try something like that.
  8. I think this is great! Keep that place SAFE! 👍
  9. Right? And I know just the slippery soft water jacuzzi to wash them in. 😆
  10. That's great! I hope you get enjoy your new equipment plenty this year. Here's something I learned after trying a fair number of shad and minnow imitations for white bass. Other's experience may vary. I was missing/losing quite a few white bass strikes on hook-point-down flies. White bass are berzerker-fast strikers, often coming from below, grabbing the fly, then diving down again. They seemed to spit the fly on their way back down, and if the hook wasn't pointing up, they would often spit it successfully. Hook point up grabs them in the upper jaw as the dive, even if they try to spit it. So, Clouser Deep Minnows and variants with lead eyes or beadchain eyes worked MUCH better for me. Regular bucktail clousers have worked really well for Hybrid Striped Bass especially. But smaller versions tied with marabou instead of bucktail have caught more white bass for me. Although most folks seem to agree that matching the size of the forage is pretty important when fishing for white bass. For what it's worth...
  11. That's the biggest one I've ever seen!
  12. Other cool stuff thereabouts as well. Oscar: The one below measured 13". These are extremely strong fish. Mayan Cichlid: Spotted Tilapia:
  13. Smallest caught fish ever? Its not even big enough to be the bait on this jig. ~1"? Too bad the picture is too blurry to ID the fish.
  14. This cold snap has provided me a lot of time to research and plan my fishing for the rest of the year. I'm way ahead of the game. After sifting through advanced techniques and advice given by successful anglers, I've managed to condense it all down into one easy-to-follow philosophy. I think this will work well for me...as it really just confirms what I've been doing all along.
  15. Anyone had a first thought that this was your high school prom date? 😜
  16. Yellow Bass, somewhere in Iowa, 2008:

  18. "Shack Nasties"....when outdoorsy folks are forced to spend too much time indoors. Its a thing! Pretty common this time of year...but this long colder snap has exacerbated the situation. And I get extra points for using "exacerbated" in a sentence. 😅
  19. That's a BULL! Congratulations! Size 26 dry fly, right? 😄
  20. @Johnsfolly All those darters are pretty cool. And your first picture...there's so many! I count at least 7!
