  1. It's nice seeing people catching some. Me and my boys were down yesterday afternoon/evening and caught 2 whites and 2 walleye off the bank with minnows and swimming minnows.
  2. Thanks guys, One of these days I'm gonna figure out how to catch these little beauties reliably. It always just seems like hit or miss. A lot of mine have come off of wood structure on the bottom.
  3. I'd be interested in how deep you guys are catching the yellow perch? And what type of bottom? Rock or mud flats?
  4. I'd have to agree with that, me and the boys done a lot of free diving just with goggles last year at Table rock and a couple local small streams. I was blown away at the amount of bass and other fish which are in an area. Then when you go through the spot with a boat fishing you hardly catch a dang thing. Especially compared to what I know is under the surface.
  5. Me and my boys did a lot of crawdad hunting down on Tablerock and the local clear streams using Fishinwrench's technique of goggles and net. It was a blast and really became fun when we could see all the fish holes to fish for also using goggles. Anyway, we used traps all over and found that chunk rock or ledge rock areas to be best. Our best areas were within 10ft deep, but I have read that deeper can be real good also. I splurged and bought the best crawdad traps I could find anywhere. But have yet to use them because they were backordered at the time. Terry Bullard traps is the name. I'm looking forward to trying them. We used frog heads from frogging and we'd also use perch. We never tried any of the other baits.
  6. Yeah this is good. Bull Shoals is on the low end also and I hope it helps kill out "SOME" of the zebra mussels that have taken hold down there.
  7. Signal in Nixa at HWY160 &14 HWY has Ethanol Free gas. It's where I get all my small engine gas.
  8. I was looking at a very well made pair of waders a couple years ago but could never cough up the money for something I could not hold and look at first. I think is was USIA waders out of Oregon. Expensive though.
  9. Ya, I'm jealous. Nice report
  10. Wow, Now that is an awesome report. I was down there last weekend and caught 1 about 10" long. I'm glad you got them figured out. Thanks for posting.
  11. Congrats. I wonder how much weight it would have added in the spring with eggs. That's definitely a prize. How long was it?
  12. I believe he is dreaming about getting a dam built. I don't see how it could happen in todays society. Plus the money it would take. They'd be better off buying the property that floods and turning it back into agriculture.
  13. Oh my, Everybody but me is catching yellow perch it seems. That one looks to be close to record size.
  14. Me and my boys have done quite well on Flatheads down on Table Rock Lake. Bluegill and Green Sunfish are very easy to come by. A little hook and a small piece of worm around any bank area should get you some quick and easy bait. This spring we set out trotlines for 5 or 6 days and caught lots of Flatheads under 10 pounds. One 21 pounds, and one 50 pounder. All these were caught out of Aunt Creek State Park which is close to where you will be. However I've ran lines a couple times on other areas of Tablerock and caught them just as well. As you already know, the bigger the bait, the better. We had 2 pound Flathead eat huge Green Sunfish on 9/0 hooks. Good luck and let us know how you do!
  15. Nice. We caught 9 yellow perch this year next to the old bridge on Swan. I've been drowning worms all summer down around Beaver Creek hoping to find a spot and haven't yet. I guess I will head back upstream. As soon as babysitting duty ends in the evenings. Thanks.
  16. So is those bottom bouncers with worms? Minnows?
  17. You're killing me with these yellow perch. Were they of any size?
  18. Somebody has to be a nut to pay around $50 a piece.
  19. Any info from the Barker Hole area to share?
  20. Thanks for the reply on the yellow perch. I'm always trying to figure out a way to better target them.
  21. I'm interested to know what the yellow perch are biting! I assume they're biting while trolling?
  22. This sounds like the most productive form of justice. You know that they knew what happened and why. Maybe next time they'll realize their thieving actions will have a punishment. Don't let these people on the forum get under your skin too much, most don't know what it means to stand up for themselves.
  23. I was there a few days ago. The water was about a foot or more above normal for that spot. It was tough wading back upstream as you already know the water flows pretty quickly through there.
  24. I'm not sure if you're looking for an argument or whatnot. The trotlines I had stolen were clearly marked by a float within 5 ft of the bank with all my info. I clearly put my info on the line and put them in a place that swimmers aren't around. I believe checking a trotline everyday within 24 hours is the law, and driving down and checking them every couple hours would be pointless. Maybe you don't know catfish habits, but they're mainly nocturnal. Stupid city folk bass fishermen are not friendly to people setting trotlines. It is there attitude and arrogance that resembles the Clintons.
  25. Sad deal. I feel your grief. I've got 5 crawdad traps out right now and have had the same trouble. Sadly most of the trouble indicates other fishermen are the culprits. I had 2 trotlines cut and stolen last year out of Aunts Creek. Now I put everything tied off below the surface a few feet to try to avoid the thieves. What type of terrain do you set your traps out in? What depth?
