Forsyth has a nice city park with good shade for tent camping, right on 160 through town and down the hill just over Swan Creek, turn left after 4 way stop and circle around to park. Across the 76 bridge is the COE ramp and campground. Its ok, but not much shade. You can cross the old bridge in the park drive along the trail to the dam. Many people bank fish just below the Dam. You can continue past the dam and fish the Empire Electric Park, just above the dam, they have docks to fish from etc. You can also drive through the corp park on the south side and fish the other side of the dam. Below the dam, you can catch about anything. Above mostly trout, but water is likely warm, Lower Taney is more of a lake environment down low, below the Dam is more like a large river (which it actually is). You can also drive on over to Kissee Mills park on 160, and fish Beaver Creek, at the park, and just past the bridge is Slough Hollow road, runs down along the river quite a ways it is mostly corps land and plenty of bank fishing.
