  2. Notice Brett uses the right hand on his spinning reel just like Ham.... Marks on that trout ??? Some would say awful straight for a bird? g
  3. Prayers and repeat,
  4. We had a great trip, Ham helped me Improve my Zig Jig fishing tremendously. He is a fishing machine. They were running about 2500 the last two days. Shared what Ham taught me with my wife. Monday afternoon about 4 she said "I am tired of catching fish, and have cramps in my hands from catching so many" Need to get one of those clickers like Ham's so I can give an accurate count, but she and I had 10 doubles yesterday and 8 today. Had a swell time with a swell guy, look forward to fishing again. g
  5. be sure and post on the Champion Forum on Bass Boat Central, guys are always looking for them there. g
  6. Saw u in little cow we went on back about same sucess lots of small fish 3 keepers 2 ky 1 sm Ky were near bank sm out in deeper water suspended in trees
  7. Middle Creek? SNAKES, BEARS NO FISH..... Yuck! (Ha!Ha!) Excellent place, just don't beat me there. I will float down at 4 in my boat. To come up a min of 4.5 prefer 5.5. This time of year several folks will be camped at Elephant Head deer hunting, so plan above or below that. g
  8. http://www.dnr.mo.gov/pubs/WR51.pdf Page 142 pretty clear
  9. Ham, Sounds like you did well, I gotta get better at hooking them on the zig jig and not hooking wood so much.
  10. I run two transducers one di thru hull si by the motor allows di & depth on plane if you have two could be transducer or y splitter cable loose
  11. Click on the tri angle near where you want to float.... had good luck with their info. Miles is a excellent source also. http://ar.water.usgs.gov/buffaloriver/
  12. Sorry, just for a day, then back on the River. Just back from Colorado, work and fishing the Elk and Yampa plus Steamboat Lake. 20 degree mornings, were nice. No long winded report, Hoppers plain and simple, some cuts on olive woolie. Rileys or Rim Shoals are great places. I will bring a boat.
  13. Get the place picked I will put it on my calendar.
  14. Just an example of how the rivers and conditions change: http://mdc.mo.gov/conmag/2000/01/sucker-showdown-taneycomo As a MSA member who also gigs not against research, but understand enforcement needs help, sounds like the Merrimac needs a major bust. We simply do not see that in the areas we fish and gig. Float the canoe during day, catch smallmouth, check out water, then through at night gig, eat suckers. g
  15. River has not jumped up, but the site says just below moderate.... http://ar.water.usgs.gov/buffaloriver/ When it cools a bit I hope to hit it myself. g
  16. So if I follow this line of reasoning, ... we have too many people who drink and drive, so..... we should outlaw Driving? If you outlaw gigging will the outlaws just quit? They are already doing illegal activities, what would no season mean to them? Better lights help the ethical gigger id fish.
  17. I have 2 doz. that I cut too short for use with broadheads will dig out of closet.
  18. Forsyth has a nice city park with good shade for tent camping, right on 160 through town and down the hill just over Swan Creek, turn left after 4 way stop and circle around to park. Across the 76 bridge is the COE ramp and campground. Its ok, but not much shade. You can cross the old bridge in the park drive along the trail to the dam. Many people bank fish just below the Dam. You can continue past the dam and fish the Empire Electric Park, just above the dam, they have docks to fish from etc. You can also drive through the corp park on the south side and fish the other side of the dam. Below the dam, you can catch about anything. Above mostly trout, but water is likely warm, Lower Taney is more of a lake environment down low, below the Dam is more like a large river (which it actually is). You can also drive on over to Kissee Mills park on 160, and fish Beaver Creek, at the park, and just past the bridge is Slough Hollow road, runs down along the river quite a ways it is mostly corps land and plenty of bank fishing. g
  19. Give Fred at current river marine a look his knowledge and alweld quality worth a lot IMO G
  20. G-flex, Jamestown distributes often has free shipping west marine carries also Google watch the video good stuff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPxqnDbdLmc&feature=player_embedded
  21. Excellent, I need to order more jigs.
  22. More nice holes up there than expected, short but, nice deep holes.
  23. Al is correct, I took the nro link down. Having floated all accross the country for the past 50 years I have learned confrontation on the river will ruin a trip regardless if you are right or legal. I do carry the legal page from MO in my dry box to share with anyone who will reason but disengage from confrontation.
