Went out of Osage Bluff all night running noodles/jugs. Caught 18 blues and channels 2-4 lbs on shad. At daylight found whites and hybrids schooling near the flats. Caught several including a 4 lb hybrid on topwater. Lots of fun!
  3. Congrats! Sounds like a good morning.

    Shad

Going out of Osage Bluff this weekend. How difficult is it to find shad to throw net? Thanks
  5. When do the 10xds come into play?
  6. i must be doing something wrong :)
  7. Got out both days this weekend with some friends. Seemed slower this weekend than last for us. Saturday we had 20 keepers and today 25. We caught most of ours in trees along bluffs. In about 25 feet. On small jigs 1/16th oz. I did want to mention this morning while we were on a spot. A boat about 100 yards from us had been fishing his spot for a while. We saw him catch some fish. Two boats came in on him within 10-20 yards and started fishing like he wasn’t there. After a little bit he cranked up and left. Incredibly bad fishing etiquette!
  8. I personally cast for crappie 20 ft or less deeper than that I like to vertical jig or stroll.
  9. I don’t know what kind of tow vehicle you have but I had the same problem with mine a few months back and found out it was a small fuse in an out of the way compartment in my Honda Pilot. Just a thought.
  10. Just casting to trees and stumps.
  11. Jigs. 1/8 oz and 1/16th. Different colors. I did see one boat near us dragging minnows that seemed to be doing fair. It was in about 25 fow.
  12. Keeping you in prayers
  13. Went out today with a friend on the Pomme arm. Caught two limits before 11am. Size average was much better today than our last trip. Half were 11-13 inches. Fish were in 10-20 fow. Most on stumps and trees. Water temp was 85
  14. My son and I fished a tourney out of Masters a couple weeks ago. We had several keeper smallies. That’s not normal for us on Stockton.
  15. Just a comment. In my 45 years of fishing experience, you can find many more fisherman that will go out of their way to assist you on the water when you need it whether they are in a tourney or just waylaying the fish. I have been towed in by guys in tourneys who are losing time by doing so and have towed people in. I have been turned on to a crappie and white bass bite by total strangers that I was being courteous to by not crowding. We have all been there, I agree with MoPanfisher, dont let the discourteous ones ruin a day for you.
  16. Interesting that I saw several bass carcasses that had been filleted next to the ramp at Mutton south yesterday. None looked short at a glance but it does look bad right at the ramp.
  17. Dutch, We were walleye fishing yesterday morning bottom bouncing in 10-20 fow and caught several keeper bass nothing big though. all on nightcrawlers.
  18. We caught a few yesterday in Sons Creek trolling out in the middle. They were suspended about 20-30 feet deep. biggest one was 14 inches.
  19. Someone needs to write a book about the fish slang names!
  20. Bream is what we called them in Louisiana when I was younger.
  21. Got back out Monday daylight until about 11am. Caught another 27 keepers. The size was a little better. Went to smaller baits. Still about 7-15 fow. Keeper ratio was about 5 shorts to 1 keeper. Also son broke off on a pretty nice bass on topwater.
  22. Boat traffic wasn’t real bad. It was picking up as we left Bolivar Landing.
  23. My son, a friend and I fished Pomme this morning from daylight til noon. We caught 75+ crappie to get 27 keepers. Also picked up a 3 lb channel cat. Most fish were in 7-13 fow in small pockets. Caught them on blk/chart jigs.
  24. Got out after the rain. Caught a dozen crappie on jigs at 10-15 fow in some coves. Also caught 4 nice blues drift fishing cut bait in about 10-12 fow.
