Growing up in Louisiana, we called all bluegill type fish---bream and all crappie--white perch or sac-a-lait. Got to remember which part of the country you are in when talking fishing
I fished all those lakes when I lived there several years ago. Lake Degray is not far from there also, so that may be an option. Each of those lakes have their challenges but all produced good limits for me but as I said that was several years ago.
Looks like the duck that followed my son and I around a week ago near Baxter. He was eating our snack crackers then. Glad he moved to something healthier
Fished CC Hwy area this morning. Had 6 nice crappie and 5 whites. My fishin partner lost a very nice walleye at the boat:( all of our fish were in less than 5 fow.
i am not one to complain much but when we went to recover the boat. There were two boats in front of us. It took over 30 minutes before we backed down the trailer. It's one lane ramp and people need to have a sense of urgency when launching and recovering when there are 8 rigs in line waiting! Sorry, I am done with my rant.
Fished with a buddy in Sons creek near Greaser Saturday. Caught 28 bass, 12 whites, 1 keeper crappie. Only had a couple of keeper bass out of the 28. Caught them on the redeye shad, crankbait and jerkbaits shallow. Very fun day!
What happened to the Budweiser beer can topwater?
By the way, I keep a few cans of viennas in the boat for luck and survival food. Do they ever expire?
