  1. The last few days have been tough fishing for those of us that are not using power bait or worms....you know it is tough fishing when a couple pull within 10 yards from you on a foggy morning and start throwing food into the water to help with the bite. But that is why they call it fishing and not catching - I mean what else would some one be doing right?
  2. Talk about running a thread into the bar ditch!!! If there wasnt a giant picture of a frosted beer glass I wouldnt know how we got to talking about micro brews
  3. Champ - now that was FUNNYY...when I was a kid my folks would troll from daylight till dark for wally's, white bass and the like.....thought my head would pop off. Fortunately I found life in Bass fishing.
  4. "on days 1 and 2, 98 and 96 anglers (out of 108) weighed in a limit. Day 3, 48 out of 50 weighed in 5. And on day 4, all 12 weighed in 5 fish. That adds up to about 1300 fish that were re-located during their spawn" Carry the one....divide by 3....add in ?????? And here I thought I just plain sucked at fishing! Who knew - just having some fun.....have a safe fourth! C4F
  5. Amen on the note to retie!! I have lost many a bait by convincing myself......just one more cast......then back to the bait shop for more lures/jigs!!
  6. Yep - Dutch is right...Coopers Creek is a nice ramp - lots of concrete and room. If the water is running starting at Fall Creek and drifting is a good way to catch fish. There are also reports of fish down around the landing. If I were you after you start up lake stop at Lilleys landing and pick up what they are biting on....assuming you are going to use power bait and drift rigs or even a jig or two. They can put you on the right color and place in a heart beat. C4F
  7. Danger - I failed to thank you for the jigs sent...I really like them and would highly recommend folks picking some up - while I cant testify that they catch many or large fish I am sure it is not the product but the process i.e. me! Best of luck on your venture. C4F
  8. You are right on - we all choose our own path C4F

  10. J Doc - you are right, it is pretty cool to see and talk to these guys. I am sure that Sore Thumbs would agree....That is why I like to Marshall - best moment for me was last year on Bull....talked with and had my picture taken with Zona. Who doesn't love the G-Man and his off the cuff comments....."fishing in 635 feet of water" Wish I would have been chosen this year - O well at least I get my $125 back...I hope C4F
  11. 12. I know sounds crazy right - given that the high will be around 60 with little to no wind the traffic will pick up just because it is a nice day. O to be on the water getting some sun instead of in this office getting my brain fried by my new government approved lighting.....
  13. I noticed on the blog that Brandon was saying that some locals were on a couple of spots that he ran to today so he has had to change up a bit.
  14. Maybe Christie launched in the wrong lake? Or he must be way up lake today http://www.bassmaster.com/blogs/2014-elite-series-table-rock-live-blog/christie-trout-fishing C4F
  15. Check this out - an article about the Rock and using Bass Gold data..... http://www.bassmaster.com/gear/prespawn-areas-key-rock It will be interesting to see what is the predominate pattern when all the dust settles C4F
  16. I pulled this off the B.A.S.S. website about how TR will fish.....a warning to the Brandon critics they do quote him Just giving you all a bad time....... http://www.bassmaster.com/news/elite-pros-have-solid-prospects-table-rock C4F

  19. Yeah - last year at Bull Shoals they didn't let me know until 7 days out......had a heck of a time finding a place to stay. RPS - maybe less likely but there are 108 anglers the first two days before they get to the 50 cut......if it is like last year it was nothing for those guys to run 50+ miles to find "the spot" as there are few true community holes on TR where the fish stack up. Like someone else said it sure is good for the local economy but I can appreciate the mayhem as we put up with the College World Series every year....it is a love hate relationship. It is amazing how many $$$$ these types of events bring into a community. C4F
  20. Huntest - last I heard they will launch out of State Park area.....with weigh in etc. there for the first three days....I had thought that the final day would be at BPS Branson but don't hold me on that one. Still waiting to hear if there is a Marshall spot open...or get my $125 back!! C4F
  21. So there is open unfrozen water somewhere in the country!!!
  22. Is this a park that the MDC would be interested in? Here in the Cornhusker state the Games and Parks run the majority of the lakes and ponds with a few being managed by a couple of Natural Resource Districts? We to have budget issues but the difference is the $$ generated stay with the G&P so that it can go back into improvements. I have been to Viney - very nice and quiet C4F
  23. 2°F FEELS LIKE 2° I feel for you guys.........
  24. Well it seems to work for football right?
  25. Boy are you right about that - many times I have come behind guys throwing this and caught fish after fish - both large and small and many varieties. Old plug if you don't want to use them send them up here I will put them to good use......well after the ice comes off the lake sometime mid summer!!! Fishing this way is a great way to get the new fisher person started as it is easy to get used to. C4F
