That fish is worth over 100k no BFing commons in the UK no BFing at all well unless it’s bass....

This fish was 55-2 caught in a fishing club water in the UK....before the BFing fad in our area a few in the mid 40’s were caught have not heard of any over low 30s for a while....even the really big buff are not as common, considering how old buff get might be a very long time if ever we seen the big ol suckers again

Good thing the people that caught and released that fish did so it ultimately reached such size, if more people did so more giants would be caught...how big would the rainbows be if we had a max keeper size?...I can tell you in the salt water world it’s easier to catch over slot reds too big to keep than smaller ones....imagine a limit where all fish over 18 mush be released unless you used your tag On it? Texas uses such a system on reds....2 fish limit 10 -14” Rainbows tag system on browns ( tiger trout too? Hint hint) may see more 20s.....

It’s interesting as to 3 camps one is the try and do right or what the current consensus is on what’s right morally and ethical if not legally required two is not caring ether way third, people who enjoy twisting the knife, troll if you will. most fly fishermen I have known are more ethical than most, I am sure the gentleman intent was honest, the fish was post likely a goner before he did the Gil flap hold...that being said mishandling fish is a big no no these days....carp, muskie and even bass holds are even criticized....I even see guys post filleting a muskie just to enrage folks...sadly the fish died, been cooler if he lived and was caught again bigger....Frank comes to mind...

Catch more and bigger catfish when I started carping....so much so a buddy of mine wants me to make a commercial cat bait....when I 1st played with it had to take down the amount of amino acids, because you couldn’t keep of the cats! Nice thing about it is it smells nice...not foul.....

Proper fish handling on big fish in particular is important. He has every right to keep a fish for the wall or the dinner table...yet releasing it to keep getting bigger shares the wealth so to speak CPR works!... that being said we all have mishandled fish in our ignorance, giving people crap is rude but I bet some will learn from it...it was a great catch

Stockton had a surge in pressure when table rock got so low several years ago...stayed that way till we had some big wind events over a couple of weekends, scared them back to the rock....,Even on calmish days it stays pretty choppy on the dam third of the lake.... takes a determined angler to learn to fish in a good wind

As baby boomers retire people have more time to fish, less% of people hunt/ fish but waaay more people...anglers are more educated today, electronics/ gps....help put more pressure on a resource....IMHO a few meat fisherman can crush a fishery....when you see people limiting out every day for a week you know they can’t eat that many fish in a few days...some are selling fish ( catfish ) lower limits would help while still allowing a fish fry....eating those 3 pound smallies is one less potential 5......fish. Are harder to catch they learn or are gone...

People do know how to fish for walleyes better now, as far as crappie people bytched when the 10” limit was put on... as far as eating bass way more people put a knife to a nice bass than id like, look at the old glory days of the lakes,.... hard to get back to that kind of fishing with the pressure our waters get now, perhaps restricted areas of the lake? No smallies under 20” then only one? Bump the limit on spots to 8

Pressure is what effects catch rates, even fish like bluegills, I’d like to see the walleye regs go back to 18” and bump crappie to 11 and 10 per day...to many people taking fish these days, perhaps drop spots to 12”? And no more than 2 small mouth....

Any good bass rod you will be fine just rinse them out well after, 6500 abu and a 7 foot flipping stick you will do well...and leave the braid home

A good bait runner reel ( or quick drag)and bite alarm makes fishing less worrisome

Lighter steelhead style rods are nice, but for bigger fish the smaller carp rods are hard to beat, BCT has some 9 footers so called stalking rods....fishing rods are like golf clubs....each has its place

Most savvy carpers would not chum corn straight out of the bag, a good boil with a touch of flavor is the ticket and deep enough to be out of arrow range.....that being said, no law keeps you off that spot, yet common courtesy says not to intrude...probably fixing a spot to take kids....you might find it harder to land Mr Carp than you think

I highly recommend the Jeremy Corbel revising movie on Lazar interviews, people forget until he came out the public didn’t know Area 51 even existed....as far as migraines...knowing stuff that gets people killed can do that...
