  1. Just for clarity's sake, Table Rock is not known to be a deep cranker's paradise by any means. If you're gonna try it, you'll increase your odds of success by targeting the stained river arms like Long/Cricket creeks, the James and perhaps the Kings. There are just better mousetraps for clear-water bass. If you really want to enjoy some good deep-water summertime cranking, head over to Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma.
  2. Yup, that's what QB, Babler, myself and thousands of our closest friends like about the river arms ... solitude. No competition for fishing spots up there. No sir!
  3. If I was going to specifically target largemouths, I would probably go to a football jig with a large profile craw trailer (Big Bite Battle Bug is a good one) and keep myself close to bluff ends at all times. The presence of standing timber or brush piles could only help.
  4. Wow, your bro-in-law has a "body twin" out there on the internet. Google is a powerful tool. A quick image search for "big flathead catfish" turned up this pic on the first page.
  5. Nice LM. But that sure looks like a green pumpkin lizard to me.
  6. Some of those K's need to be kept.
  7. You're special, Bill. In more ways than one.
  8. A remarkable day, my friend. Thanks for the informative and entertaining report.
  9. I give the AGFC credit for 1) working to establish a viable walleye population in the lake and 2) for setting regs that allow for some harvest by their clients --- the fishing public. However, I think Tanderson nailed it when he said illegal harvest is the problem. Without the manpower to get out there and really enforce the regs, trying to nurture a fairly new and fragile fishery up to a sustainable level is all but impossible.
  10. Give the GoPro to the short people. They'll have it downloaded in two shakes.
  11. I'd say yes. Not really a person, place or thing so noun is out. First person to run across Sheldon Cooper should ask him.
  12. Glad I'm not the only one who can't find it. Thought I was losing my mind. Leave that alone or I will go to HLS and buy out all of the new Iovino cranks.
  13. We heard you the first time, QB.
  14. Good job of staying after them, pal.
  15. Good job, SplitG2. Appreciate the detailed report.
  16. Yeah, Vernon's got it right. You guys are just haters, and haters gonna hate.
  17. Bazinga!
  18. Dang, Bo. You've even got those 3-4 pounders trained to follow you around at LOZ. I'm impressed, per usual.
  19. Can't see them replacing anything I already throw. Depth and colors seem pretty unremarkable to me. JMO.
  20. As long as they aren't the Tommy Biffle signature series nut huggers. And by all means, take off your jersey before you jump in. Can't take a chance on those logos bleeding into each other.
  21. All the baits I'm going to mention are War Eagles. Up around Cape Fair, a guy could get by with mouse, purple shad, hot blue herring and cole slaw. The mouse and purple shad come on a nickel frame, meaning the main blade is silver and the smaller secondary blade is gold. These are intended for clear to lightly stained water. Hot blue herring comes on a gold frame, meaning the main blade is gold and the secondary blade is nickel. Cole slaw comes with both blades painted white. There are just endless combinations and varieties of blades to mess around with and all that is fine as long as you don't overthink things. The TRUE key to spinnerbait fishing is to keep it in your hand all day long and believe in it. No other winding bait covers as much water and can be thrown/pitched/flipped into the tightest places that exist as a blade. Pay attention to where every bite comes from and zero in on them.
  22. Dang right, Nitro ... bring on the jerk bait bite.
  23. Are you in Australia? I think it's winter there.
  24. One of my favorites. Learned it watching and talking to an old timer named Basil Bacon. Heckuva stick on that lake. And a super nice guy.
  25. Good grief. A week's worth of daytime fishing on LOZ in June? In those little 18-foot boats with 3 people in each boat? Not my idea of fun -- or safety.
