  1. Yes, I always throw War Eagle. But I don't preface every single reference to a spinnerbait with the brand. Starts to wear on the nerves after a while. Kind of counterproductive at that point.
  2. Nope, has to be a NuJig. Not a Jewel, Bass-X, War Eagle or any other jig ... a NuJig.
  3. Go try em out and let us know how they work. It was 38 when I got up this morning. Virtual heatwave. Go do some legwork for us working stiffs.
  4. So are those two-packs for $4.39?
  5. Might as well save yourself the drive and just come over to my house in a couple of days. That's where they'll all be. Every last one in every last color that anyone with half a brain would throw. I'll be running a preferred-customers-only sale of $29.95 each or three for $89 (a savings of 85 cents). No plastic, please. In God we trust; all others pay cash.
  6. Heckuva good price.
  7. LOL, wasn't me. Saving my Wiggle Wart funds for some of McClelland's new SPRO Rock Crawler cranks. Saw the finished product the other day ... Mike's son Justin had a box full of them at HLS in Bella Vista. They look fantastic. A lot like a Wart but with a longer and more scooped clear bill. Supposed to start hitting the shelves in a few weeks.

I lived in Pensacola for four years. Was outdoors editor of the Pensacola News Journal. Enjoyed it for a while but wouldn't trade living in the Ozarks for it. We spent Saturday on Table Rock catching smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass amid a little wintry precipitation and enjoying at least a dozen bald eagles throughout the day. Saw one other boat all day. Our own little piece of heaven. Guess God created different places for different people.
  9. Photo is really back-lit, so the true color of the bait isn't showing. That's a version of Table Rock Shad ... purple back, lime-greenish side.
  10. Here are a couple of our better fish. The spot was one of those true Table Rock thumpers ... a solid 3.5 pounds. Love those things. We launched at Old 86 and never got more than 2 miles in any direction from there. And yes, 5bites, we were snapping that jerk bait pretty fast ... no more than 3-second pauses. Overall, a fun day with my best buddy. Only saw one other boat all day.
  11. I'm with you, Wayne. I did 4 years of peacetime service (78-82) in the Air Force and other than wearing the uniform, it seemed almost like a civilian job. Totally different than what the combat vets endured and are still enduring. I'll take a small bite of thanks, but mostly I want to step aside and let the praise fall on the combat guys.
  12. Good article, Phil. Thanks for the share. Love the meat-and-potatoes style of In Fisherman articles. Lots of info, easy to digest.
  13. Dadgumit QB, man up and get out there. I need a fishing report before Saturday and you've only got one day left. My guide buddy at Broken Bow had two clients just wreck them today on a jerk bait. Hope the same is going on here come Saturday. Miss Donna loves her some brown fish. Incidentally, I was assured that these fish were released alive and well at the ramp after photos.
  14. Funny thing is, I haven't even ordered any yet. We're just messing around. Gotta admit, I am thinking about sending a few up to Tim for repainting in that green/blue craw color. I just want it in a regular solid (opaque) finish and not phantom.
  15. They just failed to update their inventory count after processing my order.
  16. You guys stick around on this forum, take 95% of what you read here to heart, and start fishing Table Rock any chance you get. And don't just fish the upper White (i.e., Eagle Rock). I know that area is closest for us NWA boys, but get on down to Baxter, Kimberling City, the dam area and Long Creek. Go up the James to Cape Fair. All of those areas can easily be reached in under 2 hours. Just don't go to the Kings. No fish there. Terrible. Awful. Ain't kidding. Would I lie? Seriously, throughout its 55,000 acres, you will find a fishery much different and far richer in every way than Beaver. Well, you won't find any of those "import" fish but you'll be too busy catching the others to care.
  17. I was just giving you guys a hard time. Post where you wish. Glad to have you on the TR channel. Jolicious, I know of only one major difference in Beaver and Table Rock, and I probably don't have to say what that is, especially since I vowed to close up shop on that subject and heretofore keep Beaver Lake water off the bottom of my boat and out of the livewells and lower unit. I did make that promise on the "other" channel, though. Regardless, my experience is that factor never seems to bode well for black bass/smallmouth fishing.
  18. My research shows no such creek on TABLE ROCK. Wrong forum, boys.
  19. Sprint, I know exactly what you mean about yesterday. I was just glad to be buried in a deadline project at work so I didn't have to look out the window too often. I'll bet the bite was insane for most of the day, at least until the clouds cleared out, which wasn't until late afternoon.
  20. This is the earliest/harshest weather system I can recall in my 54 years. I will know more after me and Donna brave the elements Saturday, but I can't see where anything good can come from a sudden drop in water temp like we're sure to experience. Hoping for a Wiggle Wart/jerk bait bite but it might not take me too long to pull out a spoon if I don't get any love on those two.
  21. He works at BPS, Jeb. And QB, you are way late. I had my laptop set up to post an alert on my TV (think Emergency Broadcast System) and set off the horn on my truck outside the minute those new colors went up online. I ordered so many that Johnny himself is bringing them to my door, Ed McMahon-style.
  22. Cool. Thanks for the heads-up.
  23. I predict this winter will be cold and I will fish anyway.
  24. And there you have it. Don't mess with success.
  25. Sounds like fun, Danger. Let us know how it goes.
