  1. Jason, never throw Candy Bug. Never. Complete waste of time. I promise. Honest injun.
  2. Good info, Ryan. Thanks for passing that along. Got company coming next week and may need to let him drop-shoot some of those spots.
  3. Thank goodness there's always golf.
  4. The Johnson and Evinrude trolling motors were quite popular in the 80s and 90s. Very good motors. Never had a lick of trouble with mine.
  5. Hold it right thar, rps. Arkansas may have had a decent run in basketball during the 90s (including the national championship in 94) but basketball rightly occupies second place in the hearts of most good Razorback fans. Football season kicks off in 84 days. Woo Pig Sooie!
  6. Beaver has peaks?
  7. HAMMER TIME
  8. Mill Creek is easily your best bet. And I would get an annual pass as soon as possible. As Fins said, it's well worth it and runs 12 months from date of purchase, not by calendar year.
  9. It's that night thing, Bill. His pupils are dilated, his body clock is running bassackwards and everything is out of sync once the sun comes up. You and I don't have to worry about that, though. If we tried to stay out past 10 p.m. we'd be in the hospital for a week, probably after we went to sleep, fell off our pole seats and banged our noggins on the TM.
  10. Bout time Beck caught something.
  11. That's one way to make sure those nonworking ones don't weasel their way back into the rotation.
  12. Wow, that's a dandy! Congrats to both of you.
  13. This site allows you to search regatta (tournament) permits by the lake and the month. Should give you a starting place. http://www.mshp.dps.mo.gov/WP04Web/app/searchRegattaWeb?action=Search+Again
  14. Jason, the color of Mikey Jr. that I use is like the aurora black that Lucky Craft makes in their Pointer. Black back, blue hologram sides, grayish belly. Truthfully, I'd rather throw a Fin. I bought a couple of the Mikeys a few years back and I've caught fish on em but I've caught a lot more on the Fin. Just have to tinker with them more, as you know.
  15. I would suspect that's a year-class thing rather than stockpiling just below the length limit. It's only my personal opinion but I don't think enough people catch and keep bass these days to create a stockpiling effect.
  16. If you want something that runs true out of the box and requires no fiddling, pick up a Jackall Mikey Jr. Just take $30 with you.
  17. Had similar "these are my fish" encounters with lakeside property owners when I lived in Hot Springs Village. Made a point to fish those specific docks quite frequently thereafter.
  18. I make it a practice to eat a can of corn for breakfast when I'm trout fishing. I hate when Donna rocks the dang boat and my corn spills into the water.
  19. It's as good as I've seen it in my 12 years of living in this area and fishing it regularly.
  20. Might want to check out a Duckett Micro Magic. Heckuva rod for $150.
  21. Us Bella Vista guys are pretty good folks.
  22. I have no personal experience with them but have heard of issues with warranty claims.
  23. Bill, the Good Lord gives you guides days like today to offset those when you have to put up with knotheads like me. Glad you got some great folks and the fish cooperated so well.
  24. I work for the statewide daily newspaper ... as special sections manager for advertising these days .... but was a sports writer for 15 years. Still in close contact with our guys who cover the Hogs daily. The consensus is that we hired the right man in Bielema, but for him to convert Petrino's "smoke and mirrors" offense to a power game won't happen overnight. It will take an entirely different type of player at a lot of positions to fit into this new scheme. Arkansas has struggled in the past to recruit the type of top-shelf talent ... beginning with the "big uglies" on the offensive and defensive lines ... necessary to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Alabama and LSU. Supposedly Bielema and the new staff are recruiting masterminds. We shall see. The next couple of years for sure, a softer nonconference schedule could be just what is needed ... a chance to build some confidence before taking on the Bamas and Floridas of the world. SEC teams beat on each other enough during conference play. I don't begrudge any of them a cupcake or two early in the season. Babler is right about Rutgers ... they will likely be more than the Hogs can handle. On the other hand, there's a lot of talent in Fayetteville. And after last year's debacle, they are hungry for leadership and reportedly have bought into Bielema's program bigtime. Losing Petrino hurt and letting that clown John L. Smith take the reins multiplied it times 10. There was even dissension in the locker room, which will sink a team faster than anything. Those days are behind us, thank goodness. Now to rebuild. I can see five wins but probably no more. Nevertheless, Woo Pig Sooey! Oh yeah, there's a heckuva shaky head bite going on. Go get bit.
