  1. Buddy and I got in a pretty full day Wednesday at Cape Fair. Results weren't so great but we were fishing between two strong, rapid-fire cold fronts. Started in some shady cuts between Bridgeport and Peach Orchard and it became apparent early on that would be very little shallow action, so we soon migrated back out to the main river. For most of the day, we went 15-20 minutes between bites on the Ned rig ... not a good deal on a bait that consistently produces a bite every 5 minutes or less. The action was primarily in channel swings and bluff ends. I did manage to pick up a gorgeous 4 pound-plus fish off an isolated boat dock (15 feet of water in the stall where she bit) on a finesse jig and lost beside the boat what looked to be one of the biggest spots I've ever seen in any of the river arms. Got a pretty good look at it up close and it was well over 3 pounds. Also managed one fish on a jerk bait. Dilly dilly! All told, we had a dozen fish but only two keepers. No crank bait bite at all and I spent too much time throwing one. Better days coming soon. Stay tuned. This post has been promoted to an article
  2. Hard to beat that old Lunker Lure. Been around a long time for a reason.
  3. Anthony, no matter what part of the lake you're in, look for areas where the bank transitions from steep, bluff rock to 45-degree chunk rock and then to flatter gravel areas. As Sprint said, the fish are most likely to be on the chunk rock areas, but finding these transition areas should help you out.
  4. Very good point. It’s one of the reasons I prefer not to fish like that.
  5. Good to see you Edwin
  6. Good job, bo. I wouldn't trade a week of days on the water with any of my buds for one day with Donna. Special times.
  7. Yes, no bigger thrill for me.
  8. Bo, you are the undisputed champ of Table Rock. I may have to change my forum name.
  9. Bill has also been deer hunting recently and if I know him ... and I do ... he won’t give a report unless he’s been out there and knows firsthand what’s going on. I won’t get into the discussion on newspapers but as most of you know, I was a career sports/outdoors editor and later a news editor. The situation now is a joke. I wouldn’t spend my money on a subscription.
  10. Happy Thanksgiving indeed. God has been good to all of us in mighty ways. May we never forget that He alone gives us each breath and heartbeat.
  11. Amen, Bro. Ham. Well said.
  12. I’ve only been in the area 16 years so never heard Bill Ring’s show but I have heard the name. And he makes a very good point about being too busy.
  13. Been working, bo. Every day. No fun.
  14. Welcome back and nice brown fish!

Caught some on it at Beaver this week.
  16. Always takes us a few trips to get conditioned to the cold.
  17. Now that’s funny I don’t care who you are. 😂
  18. Sorry to hear about your LU issues. Hope it’s nothing major.
  19. My best hopes are that the news release is spot on and that Keith will remain the head of the operation, or at least directly involved with production on a daily basis. In that case, I can’t see any change that would be noticed by the consumer. But if Pradco attempts to cut costs by changing materials or processes then I can’t see the outcome being favorable for us the anglers.
  20. Happy to see these dates won’t likely coincide with the spawn. As others have said, these folks run a very good tournament with lots of emphasis on fish care. Wish everyone was as concerned with the resource.
  21. Nothing would surprise me at this point. Maybe Johnny buys Pradco next.
  22. I was out Monday, too, and can understand why you caught the better fish out deep. I fished 10:30 to 4:00 and had no trouble getting bit but my quality was nowhere near yours. I had three, maybe four keepers, but nothing over 3 pounds. Of course, I was pushing the shallow bite given the fairly strong north wind that blew nearly all day. Good job on that jig swimming pattern, Bo. Before he became a pro, Greg Hackney won two Arkansas BASS Federation state tournaments on Beaver doing just that ... swimming a jig through the top sections of offshore trees. Later, he won a professional event on Table Rock doing the same thing. I will be back at em tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. Will have the jig master along this trip. Report forthcoming.
  23. I had two on it, QB. But only two. I think bo tipped em off that I was coming.
  24. I have a 36v Fortrex on mine and love it. Best TM I’ve ever owned.
  25. Nice brown ones. Glad you guys got to catch some. Too dang cold out there for no action!
