  1. Nice brown ones. Glad you guys got to catch some. Too dang cold out there for no action!
  2. Could've been better, could've been worse but couldn't have been much more uncomfortable ... especially since I left my hoodie at the golf course where I work part time. Didn't discover this until I was well on my way to the lake, so I ended up fishing in my Guidewear jacket. Not a terrible I thing but missed having my soft hood instead of that cold, crinkly GoreTex one pulled over my head all day. Regardless, I did catch one of only two spinnerbait bass on my first stop at the mouth of a windblown pocket. Proceeded to fish the entire sizable pocket without another sniff, so on my way out I tied on a smallish crank bait and started down the 30-degree chunk rock bank just outside this pocket. Bingo. Caught 3 shorts and a keeper, plus lost another keeper at the boat. Headed across the lake to a river channel-swing bank and caught several more on the little crank bait but no love on the blade. Two more stops before 1 p.m. produced similar results and I ended up catching 14 total fish with 3 keepers. Very little action in the pockets ... all the active fish seemed to be on the main lake on those 30-degree chunk rock banks. Around 1 o'clock, things seemed to go dead. Maybe I got out of the fish and I didn't revisit any of my earlier productive spots, but there was hardly a bite to be had. Brightest moment of the day happened at the ramp while loading up, when I met fellow OAF member Fowlthing. Good guy, naturally. He's an OAFer and he's from Arkansas.
  3. Obviously my suggestion was incorrect. Thanks for the info, guys. Gonna see if I can figure out how to stay logged in on my home laptop and iPhone 7-Plus. Like John suggested, it's probably a security setting deal. Meanwhile, I'm headed to the lake. Can't recall breaking out the thermals this early in quite a while but I'm gonna have on my lighter set today. Report forthcoming ... hopefully a decent one.
  4. When it blows you off the front deck.
  5. Mitch, if I’m not mistaken, you can only stay logged in on one device.
  6. That's a fabrication of the industry to generate sales. "Hey guys, get off your lazy butts and take a kid fishing, but be sure you stop and buy a new Toyota pickup and JohnnyCraft boat rig on the way to the lake. And oh yeah, don't forget to buy all the tackle it will hold. Johnny thanks you for your continued support."
  7. There are very few "spectators" per se at these weigh-ins unless you're talking about a BASS Elite Series or BASS Invitational event. Other than a handful of family members, the "crowds" you see at the weigh-ins are the anglers themselves hanging around to see if they made a check. I speak from a lot of years of fishing Central Pro-Am and other regional-level events.
  8. I rather have it from south, west or north but I'll take any wind I can get on Table Rock.
  9. Count me with ya, Dan. God’s been waaaaaaay better to me than I deserve.
  10. We would love that. Sending a PM.
  11. Can those same people tell the difference in a Pro-V1 and a TopFlite? 😂
  12. I’m now gonna go wrap my head with duct tape and bailing wire and slop on a half gallon of super glue before it explodes.
  13. Don't care for eating trout myself, especially large ones, but they are a put-and-take fishery. Unlike bass, which MDC for some reason can't see fit to help along with supplemental stocking.
  14. Long Creek is far better than Roaring River. Far, far better!
  15. Thanks, Bo, I was reasonably happy with the 80 considering that I've had the dickens getting below that number all year. I think I shot 78 once and maybe another 79 but just haven't been consistent at all. Sorry you aren't able to play anymore ... it's sure addicting, but so is fishing and you do one heckuva job of that. About the abundance of shad ... you are dead right about now being a prime time to stock us some extra bass. But sadly, if I had to lay a bet whether that will happen, I know which side I'd put my money on. Just doesn't make sense in my simple mind why we can host darn near every professional bass tournament association under the moon but we can't see fit to stock some extra fish for all of us to enjoy. Guess none of that all-hailed revenue the national tournaments bring in is going to MDC.
  16. Yep, that would be a handicap for sure.
  17. Good area. Plenty of bass to be caught. Crappie are about like most other places on Table Rock ... rarely found in good numbers. Not sure why whitecaps would stop one from fishing. I'd far rather fish in the wind than without any.
  18. Missed a 4-footer on No. 18 for a 79 yesterday afternoon.
  19. Went to Eucha on Tuesday and it was the slowest trip I've had in a very long time.
  20. October is notoriously slow and I also believe the glut of baitfish left from two years of no winter shad kill is complicating things. Many fish are simply following the shad schools and not setting up on traditional places.
  21. You may be able to find uncrowded water but when there are that many boats on the lake, most of the places you need to be are covered up.
  22. Winders gonna wind 😂
  23. I did not, Thumbs. I was bound and determined to catch em winding. With the lake down to around 916, it's getting tougher all the time to find any "flip-able" cover. It could be done, but it would take a fair amount of moving around to find the right stuff.
  24. Might not be a bad idea, Thumbs. Gotta at least be some spots biting on the north end.
  25. Yes, the water is a bit stained in that upper White area and there was cloud cover all day. Plus, I just catch a lot of fall fish on that War Eagle gold shiner.
