  1. I don't have a boat cover but still assist all the neighborhood cats out of my yard with a BB. Soon they will be helped out when I'm not home. Or dead.
  2. Yeah it will be hard for the traditional tournament guys to ever accept length over weight but it is a better way of doing it with less chance of cheating.
  3. I don’t know what kind these are. They came from the creek that runs through Busiek.
  4. I was waiting on the changing of the fish. But like everything else in my life it hasn't worked out. But it's going to happen in a couple of weeks and then I'll do the photos. Looks pretty bare and dull in there right now. Anybody know why crawdads crawl out of the water??? It's really weird but there are only a couple of small holes where they can crawl out. And then I find them dry on the carpet the next day. I just can't figure out why they go to so much trouble to escape? They sure are good at keeping things clean while they last though.
  5. I don't fish midges much anymore but when I did I didn't see a noticeable difference. A bead, some wire and thread and it's good to go. I never even put any head cement on them.
  6. They are prettier than a "regular" midge. It will add some durability. But I don't think a fish is going to care one way or the other.
  7. That’s awesome! Yeah our fish of the day was around 14 inches. But I don’t care about the size of them either. Just love being out there.
  8. So how does one get their hands on a Hellgrammite? I know, I know, available soon right! Yeah well I wanna try one now.
  9. One time through any section of the river does not usually reflect its potential in producing a quality fish. There are good smallmouth all over the James. But they aren't easy.
  10. Yep. No boats. I think some of the people that live on the lake use boats but don’t know if that is even legal.

    Beef tongue

I’ll just take your word for it.
  12. Hunting doesn’t get in my way anymore. I learned a long time ago that the water gets pretty quiet once hunting starts.
  13. No. But that’s my excuse to go trout fishing. Trout fishing, whether implanted or not, just seems right in the winter. There have been issues with landowners down there in the past. That’s why I asked. Don’t care to talk to any irrational land owners at this time.
  14. I usually don't trout fish anymore until it's too cold for smallmouth. A place like roaring river I rarely use an indicator. You ever fish outside of the park down there?
  15. Make sure to salute....I mean applaud his speech or you might be removed.

    Beef tongue

Have you guys heard of steak? I've eaten a lot of stuff but I'm going to pass on the tongue.
  17. Yes. I've used them for all those things. Meet me on the Niangua sometime in January and I'll show you. Maybe Wrench will come down and show us how to do it without the bobber. He's way better than me.
  18. The Polaroid is kicking out the best shots it can so........uhhhhh........blow me. You going to be up for sitting in a cabin by the river this winter?
  19. That's not a bad thing.
  20. I saw that on the news last night. He had that girl all stressed out. Somebody buy him a cheeseburger.
  21. What a great trip. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Neither is really that difficult. It's not my favorite way but I ain't scared of it either. And if I can cast a bobber with 8 foot of tippet to the first fly and another couple to the dropper. then anyone can do it. Kind of reminds me of casting a big air resistant popper on a 5 wt. And yes I do go without the indicator when I can, but sometimes I need that crutch to have some fun.
  23. That was the only one we caught. I caught it on a PBJ ned. There was also a nice longear caught. All the other fish were Smallmouth.
  24. I ALWAYS fish a dropper. Until I break it off, then I don't. I might tie it back on later but maybe not. It depends, but not on anything in particular. Usually it's an indicator, a rubberlegs or something similar. and a scud, or worm, or egg, or................... I don't worry about whether it gets in the way. Hell I get in the way probably more than anything. Doesn't matter. Taneycomo? Try swinging a wooly bugger. And if that doesn't work try a different wooly bugger.
