  1. Don't be fooled. Plenty of ol' hillbilly thieves born and bred right here.
  2. It's getting bad. Had a delivery vehicle that had a hole drilled in the gas tank last week just to get 5 gallons of gas.
  3. 8.73 wins it all.
  4. Those are really nice. It looks like the top one would breakdown and fit in my canoe.
  5. I saw a post on FB last night from them saying they were completely full. Then you have everybody going out and buying these designer dogs. I know there is a need but not always. I know people that drove to Nebraska and paid 1,500 for a dog for their kid. They could have found just as good of a dog at a shelter. But they wouldn't be able to show their friends the dogs papers I guess. We have been the same way for a long time. Only rescue dogs from various shelters. All have been good dogs. My current meathead didn't come from a shelter but I still consider her a rescue. A kid with only a few days to get rid of several puppies before his parents took care of the problem. That's why I had to take her at 5 weeks old. Sad deal but I got 3 of the 6 out of there.
  6. Anyone that takes a kayak out on the main lake around Kimberling City is either dumber or braver than me. Maybe both. That area gets tough to navigate in a full size boat.
  7. True but I don't think it's because the spay and neutering programs are effective. My wife recently found a dog and we took it the the SWMO Humane Society to have it checked for a chip. They were very serious about letting us know that they couldn't take the dog. Not that we had any intentions of leaving it there, but several of them told us NO without us asking. They are usually completely full. They spayed Charli Suzi for free. I didn't get her there but a program that they have with Springfield allowed them to cover the cost since she's part pit. All I had to do was call and schedule an appointment and pay a deposit. They tried to return the deposit when I picked her up but I donated it to the shelter.
  8. Same. When I was in a bunch of different boats I had the opportunity to drive several with one. Never did like it. Maybe I was just used to the hand throttle, but I never had any issues with that system. And I drove a boat HARD. Usually somewhere between 75 and 80 on long runs and the hand throttle was never an issue.
  9. I miss the old days where you had to have some intelligence to own a boat. Gun dealers aren’t required to tell people not to shoot themselves but idiots do it every day. There is a perfect system already in place but these geniuses are too cool for school to implement it on boats. Quit whining if you refuse to change.
  10. Always finding an excuse for something not to work never solves anything.
  11. Some people can't drive cars and have no business in a boat. Boats at speed are a whole different ballgame. And the only qualification that you need to drive one is some cash. I love going fast on water, but I also have enough experience to keep from hurting anyone. Never have understood why there isn't a speed limit on water. It makes no sense. I know there is an enforcement issue but that's a poor excuse to not try something.
  12. Man somebody got their panties in a wad.
  13. Well I ain't one so I can pull the trigger if needed. No different than putting down a rabid dog or stepping on a roach to me.
  14. Dude. Everyone knows that was you! LOL When I was in 8th grade my dad and I had to hide behind a big old mound of earth by a strip pit we were fishing out in Kansas one day. That one freaked me out a bit.
  15. Somebody needs to put a bullet in Putin's head.
  16. They have a very unique sound. I've never been in the middle of one like you but I have been close enough to hear several. I remember the look on my wife's face several years ago when we heard one at our house. Really freaked her out and she has never been afraid of storms.
  17. So sorry you didn't have a very good trip top Stockton. I'm never going to claim to be any kind of guide but if you make it back down this way I know I can get you into the bass population. I have no idea on the walleye but I can get a smallmouth on the end of your line for sure.
  18. Cool stuff. I look around sometimes but I have no idea what I'm looking for.
  19. I agree. They are a lot of fun to ride in though. But you shouldn't need hearing protection to ride in a boat.
  20. They still have no mufflers. And those props chopping through the air make a lot of noise. You ever been in an air boat? The props on them make a tremendous amount of noise.
  21. Plane From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Plane or planes may refer to: Airplane or aeroplane or informally plane, a powered, fixed-wing aircraft Airplane From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia An airplane or aeroplane (informally plane) is a fixed-wing aircraft that is propelled forward by thrust from a jet engine, propeller, or rocket engine. Wrong again Sunshine!
  22. Jets are planes. It's just a different engine. I thought any mechanic, even a boat one, would know that.
  23. It's called a jet engine. Don't think there is a muffler for that.
  24. Most of the guys I fish with these days I met on here.
