  1. That looks like a lot of fun.
  2. My junior year in high school I played football at 265. I haven’t got any smaller. I own the Yugo of the kayak world, an Ascend. It might not be as nice cosmetically as some, isn’t going to win any races, but it’s a tank that will carry a lot of stuff. I’m not going to do an overnight in it but it will carry me, my tackle, a few rods, cooler, and dry bags full of gear. I think I’ll go back to a pelican case for my main camera and lenses. But that’s more from an easy access with good protection mindset than anything else. I cannot turn this kayak over. It won’t happen. It’s ejected me a couple of times but that only happens when I’m carrying a bunch of empty aluminum cans for some reason. I would recommend something with a high seat. Mine is pretty much flat with the water line and is a bit of a struggle to get in and out of but it’s very comfortable to float in. Friends have raised their seats or have higher seats and it seems to be easier for them. But they don’t have a fatass and bad knee.
  3. I'm not saying that I still don't but it would nice to have something easier. I put a trash bag in a 5 gallon bucket and pick up the sculptures the dog leaves in the yard. I think carrying with some kind of seat would be a pretty good option. One night on the river something didn't do good with my stomach and I had to crawl out of the tent 7 times that night to take care of business. Probably the worst night of my life. My camping supplies now include Imodium AD. And lots of it. Nothing like walking around in the woods at 3am trying to find a fresh spot you haven't already polluted.
  4. That looks delicious.
  5. Well you doned know'd that I is rarely serious about nothing. I add some smiles next time so you can keep up.
  6. Rich and poor alike should also be able to let a simple mistake slide without needing to correct people.
  7. We always stop and do a bit of wade fishing. Keep Jim and the twins cool and it’s a more pleasant day.
  8. Quality camera, amazing lens, enough experience to make the right settings, patience, and a little adjustment in Lightroom. It’s all part of the process.
  9. Nikon D7500. Most people don’t float with $2500 worth of camera gear.
  10. Thanks Wrench.
  11. We splashed in early for a short float but the heat still caught up with us. Low CFS made the fishing tough but we still caught enough to keep us entertained. Nothing big at all but did have a nice beautiful gar on for about 30 seconds. We need some rain.
  12. We are right behind Springfield Brewing Company. Those guys tossed some old hot outdated beer in the trash one day and it wasn't a couple of hours later there was a whole gang of losers out there digging it all out. They dropped a few bottles and busted it and then left their dog chained to the dumpster while they went to drink. Last I knew there were several people looking for them. People from SBC. Cops. Everyone. Haven't seen that particular group since.
  13. I don't think I have ever seen a bicycle at Busiek. Me and the girls have hiked it many times and still do. It's a really cool place. My office is only a couple of blocks from the old A&B building. And the wino/homeless are still jackasses. Screaming at people to give them a cigarette. Accusing you of lying that you don't have money for them (I don't carry cash). But I repay the favor by gluing quarters to the street from time to time. And before anyone says that's rude, we have done plenty for the ones that are respectful.
  14. I've had two get within 10 feet of me. 5 to 6 footers. Both seemed just as scared as me but neither had to change their shorts after. I had another that I tried to get a camera in front of and it would just keep moving out further. Never would let me get very close.
  15. I was standing in the surf about nut deep last week and saw something out of the corner of my eye. Here comes the big long dark spot. I'm thinking to myself how many of these shark close encounters will I get before my luck runs out. I was just getting ready to poke at it with my rod when it turned. Dolphin!! It was a little guy but now I know why the fishing sucked.
  16. I had to take a two week course to get into an advanced electronics class. On the last night we were to take a test. As we entered the class we were handed a circuit board and were told that all we had to do was find Theta for the circuit. Took me a little over two hours to get my answer. After everyone was done our tests were graded right then. Prtetty easy since there was only about 20 of us and we each only had one answer. All of us failed. You had to make hundreds of calculations to come up with an answer. And that was after you had determined resistance of every component on the board. One little error in any of that and you were going to fail. Luckily it wasn't totally about having the right answer and about half of us got to move on to the class. And that class was an absolute blast and we got to do a lot of crazy things. All of our tests were projects. Building circuits, making circuit boards, wiring those boards into computers so they could be controlled by a computer. My final project was taking a remote control truck and building a circuit board that could be wired into a computer so the keyboard controlled the truck. Around 10k lines of Assembly language code and that baby performed perfectly.
  17. I used to sit in the back of the room of my physics classes and pick out the cute chicks that I would help make it through. That stuff seemed so simple to me but was obviously very difficult for some.
  18. Orion is a good boy. Charli doesn't eat them. She just lets them rest when they "get tired of playing".
  19. That sucks. People say that it's like losing a family member, but to me it IS losing a family member.
  20. Math is tough for some. I didn't make great grades in Math but was always able to understand it and get by. My 3 daughters have not been as lucky. They just don't get it.
  21. One of the queens little gardens had some damage in it last night. I couldn't figure out how anything could get in there to damage anything. It's a couple of feet tall and then has wire fencing around it to keep the dog out of it. Looked out there this morning to see a squirrel in there!! So I let Charli Suzy out there to guard it. She's going to spend all day making sure that squirrel is stuck in that 4 ft square box. It will either still be in the garden when I get home tonight or dead in the backyard.
  22. My wife is having surgery next week and will be off work 6 to 8 weeks. Said she wanted to start riding her bike while she was off to get in better shape. Said I should too. So I got it out and aired up the tires and cleaned it up and made sure it was in good working order. I made it about 50 yards before I tweaked something in my already bad knee. Looks like the knee replacement surgery that I keep putting off will happen in 2021.
  23. One more thing. I have 55 people that work for me. The young ones are not the only one who’s work ethic sucks. That problem is across the board on age.
  24. Geez calm down grandpa. I didn’t mention the youth that you are so terrified of. And if you would get out and meet a few you would realize that the vast majority are nothing like the ones you keep bringing up. Yeah there are some horrible ones out there. Thursday night my 3 beautiful daughters, their mother, and I were all walking through a parking lot at a public beach in Gulf Shores. Some guys with a big Trump flag were circling the parking lot stumping for Trump. They pulled up next to the girls and said “Vote for Trump beautiful!” And my oldest daughter very politely said “No thanks”. Which was me with “Well then fuk you, you stupid lady!” Now I’m sure that you would tell everyone that you would side with my daughter. But if you really knew her political beliefs I’m sure you would be right there in that truck load of boys. You know the ones that were all tough as fuk when they were downgrading women but apparently found all the manners in the world when confronted by a man. Might I add that 4 young tough Trump supporters absolutely feared for their life when confronted by and old fat guy with a bad knee. So yeah I guess you are right we can’t count on them to be intelligent. I didn’t make it about race so please don’t try. I said old rich white guy because it’s been a stereotype since the beginning of time. It refers to a guy that never had to do much to get to where they are. They had money and I guess you could say that they were intelligent enough not to waste that opportunity. But they were born with a silver spoon and don’t understand the struggles of real Americans. But you could say that about most in D.C. Keep in mind I’m not blaming them for it. I think it’s awesome that they had that. But to think that they understand what it’s like to struggle, like most Americans do, well that’s just silly. And yes we know you don’t care about those people. And that’s okay too but it’s also silly to disregard what they are going through. The best thing about America is that you get to have your own opinion. The worst thing about America is that too many let politicians tell them what their opinion should be. Don’t worry Mitch. I’m sure you will win. But you really do need to get out and meet some real kids. You won’t see them on TV because they are too busy doing meaningful things in their lives. I think they would surprise you. November 5th can’t come soon enough.
