If they weren’t still for sale on every corner they would have an easier time getting rid of them.

We’ve had two in our front yard since we moved in over 25 years ago. Had one that was very messy and had it removed last year. $1,500. The other one can just stay until Mother Nature does her thing. But I can hear her getting all worked up in the distance so maybe today is the day?

Yes, yes I do. Luckily my wife has always been very cool about this. Just can't forget to make sure she gets a trip to somewhere she wants to go.

Kid is a vague term for me. He was probably 24-25 with a wife and kid of his own. But I have had the same issues with 60 year olds too. Some never learn. Too bad though because I really liked him and that store will need a new manager in a couple of years. Maybe he would have been able to do that and maybe not, but he doesn't understand the opportunity he just threw away.

Not surprised. The kid I hired in KC that vanished for a couple of days begged me to give him another chance. Being the sucker that I am I said yes. Everyone deserves a second chance. He came in last Monday like he promised and was the guy we needed him to be. The next day he called and said he would be late. The day after that he came in like nothing ever happened. We promoted him to customer.

I never understood the intelligence of doing donuts on gravel. Must be the same people that show off by spinning their tires when the pavement is wet.

I was thinking about this earlier. There is another place that I frequent, but it is completely covered up during the summer. Your lucky to find a parking spot much less a fish. But I rarely see any trash there. It's an MDC access. And as I think about it you don't normally see a lot of trash around MDC Acesses. Do they really have people out cleaning up after everybody? (I've never seen anyone picking up trash) Or do people who trash accesses just not go to government acceses? I mean you can't tell the difference by looking at the crowds. The one on the Finley, which is NOT an MDC access, is about the same size as the other. Same amount of people typically. Same type of crowd. But the people at the MDC access pick up their trash? I need to start asking people. These places are on different streams about 40 miles apart. Even though the fishing is pointless in the summer they are great places to take the dog for a hike. Decent parking and you can walk down the stream forever. They keep the Finley fairly clean now, (since that was one of the main complaints for getting it shut down for a while) but it's still not as clean as the other. Busiek is another place. State Park. Zero trash. And you haven't seen so many people on such a small creek in your life.

That's what has created all the problems. Not many people care about a few fishermen. But all the punks and trash and dumping. I don't blame landowners. I've lost several spots already and one is on the verge of closing. If people would just pick up after themselves then everything would be fine. But they are too stupid to do that.

Pretty sure the fight on Finley was over a couple hundred k’s. 5-7 would probably get you out of some trespassing trouble but it’s not going do much else.

Look up River Access Coalition (RAC) Finley River. They have already fought and won a case where landowners shut down a access to the Finely River. I don't have the totals but I think they spent quite a bit of money on that and continue to fight appeals to the decision. They are also workimg on other projects now like the new River Gravel mining project on the Finley River.

Going to take a lot more money than that.

An old court case doesn’t dictate squat when someone does something ignorant. I’d just look for another spot.

I noticed over the weekend that my wading boots are coming apart. Now I’m not sure what I’m going to buy. I was using Simms Vibrams but I might go back with felt. Note: Has nothing to do with my last swimming session. Felt wouldn’t have made a difference at all.

Outside of the car death it sounds like a good day to me. I love exploring and seeing new places. The fishing? You just got a little too eager beaver. Used to do it all the time. We need some warm water flowing in these creeks to get things going. Get your wheels lined out and be ready for some warmer, more productive water. Keep posting and show us some pics.

I’ve got one like that in St. Peter’s. Some days she’s dressed up like Rosie the Riveter. Little tiny chick in a predominantly male industry and she fits right in. Also sings backup in a Neil Diamond cover band.
