  1. That's what yellow ochre is supposed to look like. Just a dirty muddy yellow color. But that name will throw you.
  2. Nice fly. Too much of a commitment for me but I bet it catches some fish.
  3. Should I start tying yet?
  4. From the MDC training manual. Carp Buffalo
  5. My FIL used to work with charities helping them create fundraisers. Golf is where it's at. A fishing tournament is going to bring in as much as a golf tournament when you are interested in raising money. When i was in HS I used to hunt some birds with a cop. That doesn't really mean anything here but it sure helped me out a time or two later in life.
  6. Nope. Just because they are branded the same doesn’t mean they are made in the same place or with the exact same products. Or it could have been tailing solvents in that batch. Or Long Duck Dong might have left the lid open on the catalyst before going home on Friday. Absence of air is what really cures CA. Pour some on your finger and watch it. It will take forever to dry. Now do it but press another finger in top. Presto! You’re a retard. Epoxies like humidity.
  7. If it was gooey then the foam had a chemical reaction with the glue an probably would have never set up without the heat. That was a good call on your part. The glue and that particular foam were not compatible.
  8. Serious question. When it didn’t dry did it seem to be gooey in that channel?
  9. I'm afraid of beer that comes from Mexico that true Mexicans won't drink. What do they know????
  10. Trench Tramp
  11. Whoa! Hold up there Fly Swap Nazi. I have bids coming in from museums wanting those flies.
  12. It does look a little weird. But once you start fishing with a gurgler you won't need any poppers. I haven't bought popper bodies in forever.
  13. I can't find any of my old pics to prove you wrong so you'll just have to take my word for it. Look at the Double Barrel Popper bodies.
  14. Soft foam is awesome. No gap to fill. You can paint it or use markers. And then once you coat it in epoxy it becomes a hard body.
  15. Had a buddy do it several years ago and it was a little hassle but not too bad.
  16. That does work. Also sands like concrete. You can also just fill the hole with epoxy too. No need to add all that dust to it.
  17. I use spot putty that is intended for auto body repair. It doesn't shrink like that wood filler will but isn't very inexpensive either. One thing that I have done before that to combat this is to really build up that area. Let it dry and shrink, and then sand it flat. Do it right and it won't shrink so much that you have to add a second helping.
  18. I'm not driving any bandwagon. Like I have said many, many times. I've got nothing against tournaments. I used to love them and I'm still fine with them. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about what others are doing. But I will shoot holes in ignorant reasons for not changing. I don't hear anybody saying the economy will be hurt if you run off all the jet skis, wake boats, ocean liners, bowfisherman,.................
  19. Nope. But I was reminded of why I don't keep many fish anymore.
  20. Did we talk to you under the Taylor bridge?
  21. How are they keeping people honest now? Dude I'm not just trying to dog on you alone even though I know it seems that way. But seriously, how are you keeping anybody honest now? You aren't and you can't. At least with technology you will eliminate a lot of it because there aren't guys that technology savvy enough to do it. Yes it can be done, but it's going to be difficult to do out in a boat and it's going to take up a lot more time. Heck of a lot more time than just getting a bass out of a cage or forcing him to swallow a couple ounces of weight. And I'm not against tournaments either. But these lakes and fish don't belong solely to tournament fisherman and I think that's where everyone gets a bad taste in their mouth.
  22. Me too. But don't feel bad. I've never even been invited to go with them. I'm not good enough to be included. And I'm very thankful for that!!
  23. You missed the point. And that is, if you guys are trying to prop up your tournaments on the belief that the economy needs you then you ought to at least take care of the people that do really need you. The hotels can get other guests. The restaurants are doing fine and will so without bass fisherman. But the guys that truly need your dollars, the guys that do depend on your dollars to make it, you just cast them aside because it's easier to order online. Not only are you cheating that business owner but you are also cheating that local community out of tax revenue. But not to worry because those folks in California really appreciate it and are going to send you a five dollar tee so you can promote them some more. This isn't about where I spend my money. I wasn't the one throwing down the ridiculous statement that all the hillbillies are going to be broke if us bass tournament guys leave. Just stop with that ignorance please.
  24. Yep. I have a sibling that spends every weekend at LOZ with spouse and kid. They don't fish. Drop $400 to $500 every single weekend.
