I never said they can. First they were smart enough to get jobs where they didn't make minimum wage. Second they do get assistance from their parents. They also got scholarships. Not for being good with balls but for being hard workers and intelligent. There are tons of scholarships out there to be had if you try. And lastly they do have some student loans.
And poorer kids have better options than mine. I know because I am friends with a bunch of them.
All I'm saying is that if you want an education then you can get one. Will it suck for a few years? Yes. I know this because I lived it. Worked six days a week with a wife and kid at home and went to school at night. If I can do it then anyone can. I was the 1st in my family to pull it off and I had zero financial support from parents, scholarships, or anyone. I did it all by myself. So did my wife.
I'm not saying it's perfect but nothing is. If you want it you can make it happen.
