We did a lot of noodling in high school in Oklahoma. Never did the lake stuff, we just stuck to the creeks. Not too dangerous if you forget about the snapping turtles, snakes, beavers, etc. biggest we ever tangled with was just shy of 50 pounds that came out of a small creek.

I used to think that wind farms were a good thing, and maybe they can be. But take a drive out through Kansas in the dark and let me know what you think about that. I have no idea why every one of them has to have a flashing red beacon on top. We do too many stupid things for no other reason than that's the way we have always done it. Yes I understand what the beacons are designed for but technology has surpassed their need in my opinion.

And this is why there will never be any intelligent conversations on the subject.

Here's a perfect example of the ignorance. Yes lithium is dirty for now. But the process for bringing oil up from the ground and refining it isn't clean. At least the lithium will last a while before it just goes poof into the atmosphere.

The lithium process is dirty. No doubt about it. But lithium might not be the choice of the future.

They don't want intelligent people involved. Doners with their hands deep in their pockets is the only way to get the information they want to hear.

If we never try and develop anything better we will always be using energy that creates wars and death. For most people electric vehicles is the way to go. However the ignorance that the people profiting off of oil have created will be hard to overcome. Are there components in creating and storing electricity that make it dirty? Oh yes, No question. But if we give it a chance and increase the funding in R&D for it then we can reduce that too. Maybe the subsidies that we give the oil companies should be used for this. And please, please, please, if you are going to bash electricity would you at least have some basic understanding of physics?

My daughter lives a couple of blocks from there and isn't happy about it at all. No grandkids to worry about but she still has to be able to get out to go to work and then try to get back home. She is not happy.

It magically ended when Russia invaded Ukraine. And now that Will Smith smacked Chris Rock it appears that the war is over.

Not closing Sunshine. Closing Campbell from Sunshine south to Cherokee. And no. You couldn’t pay me to attend that disaster. All of Springfield will be a nightmare until this is over.

That last sentence is truth. If you want to see pics of the river and small fish I can do that. Trophy fish? I’ve seen some. Not on the end of my line though.

I don't care if they are giving reels away. There is no way that I go anywhere near this place during that event.

If you need pics to prove to you that there are trophies in there then you haven't spent enough time there.

Mine is pretty simple. I just use one strip. Tie it in at the tail and then palmer it up. I also fish it more like a streamer and key on the fish that show interest in chasing it. Here’s my perfect size and color for RR.

Not that I'm a huge Amazon fan, but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase anything from them. Their return policy is great. Print off the return slip and drop it off at a UPS store. You don't even have to repackage it.

I used to do well in the park with a chamois worm but I don’t think I have ever fished a true San Juan. 99.999999999% of the time I fish Roaring River I’m starting with a pine squirrel leech and usually never change. You aren’t going to stand in a spot all day and catch fish. But if you want to cover some water it’s a super fun fly to fish. If that doesn’t work then it’s a Griffith’s Gnat. If that doesn’t work I either try a soft hackle or go home.

SIO3 has a good list. I don't like the eggs on jig heads but that's just a personal preference. I like to hide my lead inside them. Would also recommend soft hackles. A blast to fish but not so easy to get tied correctly.

Changed my mind. If you are going soon I would do upper. But that’s based off the current flows and the way I like to fish.
