our lower unit went out - we trolling motor/idled in the take off cove and around bridge .... toughest fishing I've had in a decade? we had 2 keepers in 2 days, i think I only caught 5 total fish (finesse baits) 3 years fishing it, 3 years motor trouble ... we've not had a chance yet to fish it really
-
the channel ? lol ... no, they were motoring in 3' of water and ran by us within easy flipping range ... they were 30 yards from the channel !
-
we went way up to Coal Camp creek pre-fishing on Friday my uncle hooked a 7 pound-ish fish, come off at boat Saturday our biggest 5 probably went 15-16 pounds .. but nothing over 3.5 pounds Sunday we stuck with the same plan - and had same results Good fishing, didn't have to fight so many boat ... but there was one boat thought it'd buzz us planed out at about 20' .... I wish I'd have thrown my crankbait into his boat as he went by. CAN'T STAND THAT

I'm fishing - past Ivy Bend , way up ... hope it aint too shallow

my partner caught a 5.84# fish ..... 3rd hourly, 10th big of tourney i think ? Sat was harder than Sun for us 7.11 # won yes, I heard there was 3300 people in it this year ? wow gazillion shad, that he caught it on top water is amazing, we didn't get a single top water bite

why are some jigs better than other? how they fall, hook design, material ??

we fished close to there on Friday - feared the wind in my 2002 Sabre on Saturday .... how bad were those channels / waves on Saturday afternoon ?

Bass Cat OI ? I'm driving up Wed morning ... prefish a bit Wed/Thu and I'm a newbie to the lake as well. I'm guessing it fishes like most Ozark lakes. .. in the backs of creek arms, 60-62 right now, main lake a bit colder, dam area colder .... colored water towards back of creeks, much clearer main lake/dam areas. any locals ... am I right on my guesses ??

"Can we go ahead and ban the A-Rig already? " they really need to poll the anglers who fished this and get the % on who wants A-rigs in the future if allowing them, night as well allow trolling and using multiple rods and even live bait .... all legal means of fishing, just like the A-right right? I'm for banning them in tournaments

nice I thought our fatal flaw might have been not fishing more main lake stuff ... looks like i was right !
-
agreed ..... except the boat on Sunday morning that motored in on us on a point in Big Indian .... literally not another boat in sight and at 6:22 am he motored to where his casts met my casts at 6:30 first cast text .... I thought that was a bit too much considering not another boat in seeing distance
-
A-rigs I saw being thrown, but the jerk baits a LOT There were people everywhere - bluff's, shallow flats, timber, points, .... boat docks didn't seem to be getting a lot of attention I wonder if the main lake pockets wasn't where some of the bigger fish came from ?

we hammered the fish on THU/FRI .... Sat night as much, yesterday was tough. Several in and around 3# but nothing we could have won $$ on no idea where the big fish were on Thursday we must have caught 50 Kentucky bass, and THu/FRI our top 5 would have went 12-13 pounds I imagine ... several in the 15-17" range, fat hefty fish anybody know what the big fish bite was? we went into Kings Fri/Sat and the numbers were there, just not big, Sunday we were in Big Indian, too much shad kill IMO
-
need a prize for most Kentucky bass between 15-16" .... I think we'd have won that today
-
catch a 9# bass and it'll be worth the long motor
-
already reserved campground spot, planning to pre-fish at least a couple of weekends before ... driving up from Cabot AR. In 1990 I lived in a trailer on Beaver, but have not been on that lake since then ! looking forward to fishing it

Wtb: Pre-Rapala "wiggle Warts"...
stealthycat replied to stalking coyote's topic in Buy - Sell - Trade
I use to collect ... I've bought/sold thousands of them I reckon, my dad and I did it in the late 1990's to fund elk hunting trips each year. I thnk I had .... 140+ at one time? STORM didn't keep great records on all the different colors made. You could go to them and say hey, I want a WW this color, that color etc, and they'd make you up 500 of them or 2000 etc. That's the SP's ... the specials there are more rare Warts than the SP#90 - I had 3 of them at one time I can't remember the so, so hard to find ones colors .... but geesh they made the pee wee wart, the wee warts, the wiggle warts, the magnum warts, the flat warts .... they made a bunch of lures! the best colors EVER were the suspending warts .... i bought a bulk of 300 once and wish I'd never sold them. my all time favorite? V45 or the V59's, the V62's and V63's -
expect a LOT of boats, super heavy fishing pressure and if you catch 5 keeper fish per day you're going to finish top 25 of 700 boat, 400 won't catch a keeper each day - the fishing becomes THAT tough

My brother and I want to do a 2 night float - parking one truck at where we take out, then driving to where we put in. Can someone give me a good put in and take out 2 night stretch of the Buffalo with the flow of the river as it is right now? I'm not that familiar with floating a 2 night trip in the spring, I don't want to make it too short or too long. I'm going to be fishing a bit, he probably won't do anything other than enjoy it all. THANKS !

I've fished a lot at night with a light for crappie, and with those crappie come bass, walleye, catfish etc. I wonder ...... a narrow beamed like in a deep hole on white river on a calm water night ....... would the trout come to it ?
-
Anybody got any tips ? Points ? Docks ? Deep ? Shallow ? Lure choices ? THANKS
