  1. I would think so. Some of them look a little beat up and got some red in them.
  2. 1/16 ounce bobby garland jigs in lighter colors
  3. Got on the water today about 8 a.m. with my buddy Ryan. Temperature was 42 degrees and raining. We started checking brush piles and the 1st one we pulled up to had fish on it. Caught a couple of keepers and a bunch of shorts all on jigs then it just shut off. It was like that all morning. We would hit a brush pile and catch a couple of keepers right off the bat then a few shorts and then nothing. We kept hopping brush piles all morning and even threw at the bank some picking up a few keepers. Most fish seamed to be suspended 6-10 feet deep around the MDC brush piles with a few randomly caught in 2-4 feet of water on the bank. We ended up with 2 limits by 1 pm. Things are really looking like they will be shaping up good for this weekend!
  4. Welcome back to the forum! Those are some great looking boats! The waterfowl thread has become quite popular on the forum over the last couple of years during duck season. Looking forward to you joining in on there during the next season.
  5. Killed the first two I saw so I could get back to important things like duck hunting….LOL!
  6. Yup, they frustrate me too. Cant keep them from biting while I'm crappie fishing…….LOL! You and your dad still in that hunting club? How'd ya do during deer season?
  7. Well, welcome to the forum!
  8. Hey Cody! you still working there?
  9. Congratulations! Sounds like a great day.
  10. Good report and great pictures. Nice fish!
  11. I talked to one guy yesterday evening that was fishing out there in the morning. He did well till the fog burned off, then the bite just shut off for him too. He was catching them in deeper water.
  12. Great report. I did make it to Don's Class yesterday and on the water today. Great class, but prom for daughter was probably better. The biggest thing I got out of class is….play with your contrast a lot till you can see what you want to see where you want to see it.
  13. Great report. Thanks for sharing. Only suggestion I can give you if you can, add some pictures. The info you have shared is fantastic!
  14. I saw some of them zipping around up in the James River Arm today. Only thing I could think of was holding on for 8 seconds bull riding.
  15. Nice fish! You seem to be having a great weekend!
  16. Welcome to the forum!
  17. I bet it was fun. Would love to sit in the boat with one of those guys and watch them pick it apart. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Good place to fish from the bank and yes it is right at the end of Blunks Road. You can walk up the dirt trail to Taylor Shoals and that too is a good place to fish from the bank or you can walk down to the bluffs below Blunks and fish from to bank.
  19. Went back up there today with Chief. Whites were not there. Crappie fishing was much slower today also. Did not find any on the banks. A few shorts and only 3 keepers in the deeper brush piles. Got to have a day like today to let you know how good the good days really are. Fun day out there with good company. We watched a couple of wood ducks way up Flat Creek landing right above us in the trees. That was really cool.
  20. Thats awesome. Sounds like you found a good home for her!
  21. Fished with Phil for a couple of hours yesterday. We went way up Flat Creek and found a few whites. Fished brush and timber on the way back out picking up a few crappie here and there. At one spot, Phil caught 4 or 5 right on the bank. We headed over to Peach Orchard and caught a few more in 6 to 8 feet of water. We ended up with 7 keeper crappie and 3 whites before the evening storm came. Today, I got done with work early and decided to try beating the banks in search of crappie for a while. Put in at Bridgeport and headed to Bear Den. Fished around some docks in the left pocket and then fished my way back to the end of the pocket. Picked up one nice keeper crappie in 2 feet of water out of the buck brush. The wind was whipping hard so I tried to find a pocket out of the wind on the other side of the cove. Picked up another keeper and a short over there. Worked my way all the way to the back of Bear Den on the bluff side only picking up short bass. On the way back out, I found some submerged lay downs and picked up 4 more nice keepers. Only fished about 2 1/2 hours before giving up fighting the wind and heading home. All the keepers caught on the banks today were males. Not one female caught. The fun is really getting started now! I took lots of pictures today and cameras just don't capture the true beauty of these fish.
  22. Those are some nice ones!
  23. I fished up in the James River arm with Phil yesterday and was surprised we did not see any of the Elites up there. It's been full of them all week. Phil and I could not keep them bass off of our jigs while looking for crappie. We were joking around about how our best 5 went 30. We did not catch one skinny bass up there. They all looked healthy and like they were eating good. I might be concerned with over population in I never caught a chunky one.
  24. I got verizon too and get service just about every where here in Branson. One dead spot on a curve way down DD and one dead spot over by the Chateau.
  25. Bill, if the weather holds out, I just might have a bag that I need to unload after some fishing today. It sounded like NASCAR at Coney Island this morning.
