  1. Thanks for the replies. Spoke with the fellas there in the shop and they informed me I'd have to wait till spring to get a permit, but as long as the boat was legal it was good to go.
  2. Straw Hat, The temp was 48-49 this afternoon. Caught 10-12 crappie, but only 6 worthy of the pan, and a 17" walleye. Fished from 2-4:45. Have a Merry Christmas! -ChipperT
  3. I recently bought a boat for fellows lake with a 40 hp motor, but not sure what i need to take with me to get the fellows lake permit. Tried calling and emailing the marina multiple times, but never heard back. I thought maybe some of the members that frequent Fellows might be able to answer these questions. 1. What documentation do they need? 2. Are the permits good for 1 year from date of purchase or 1 cendar year? 3. If the marina is closed for the season, how does a fella go about obtaining a permit so I can fish there this winter? Thanks in advance! ChipperT
  4. If extra weight is needed slide a bullet sinker(s) up the wire backwards and put a kink in the wire to hold them in place. This allows you to add or remove weight as needed without having to carry an assortment.
  5. The friday nighter out of Mill Creek is still on. Starts at 7:30 goes till 1:30. $65 with big bass and side pot.
  6. Fished Sunday from 7-4:30 out of Baxter. Caught 8 with 5 keepers, primarily coming on a jerk bait. Fished a lot of different areas with nothing to show for it. Pulled up to a point back in a creek and caught 5 in short order in less than 10fow. Tried to duplicate this, but no luck. Tough day for me...guess I should have plied the depths.
  7. Check out the Polar bear tournament. It alternates Stockton and pomme. Randy Conlon runs it. I believe it's $85 entry and runs from 7-3 on most sundays. It's a great tournament and very well ran. Look on the Missouri highway patrol website under regattas and you can see every registered tournament trail in MO.
  8. Yes, it's still for sale

  9. He already answered 2 of your questions before you asked. 1/2 ounce, all white, and I imagine it's probably a war eagle jigging spoon. They make a very good spoon with good swivels and quality hooks. You should give em a look. Sorry to chime in, but hope this helps.
  10. "Crawler" is short for night crawler or live worms.
  11. Ozarkgunner - Sounds like you were above the 76 bridge, which is still the impoundment portion of the lake, so keeping walleye is fair game if you so choose to keep them. The bridge in reference is the 160 bridge you cross over heading to Shadow Rock from Forsyth.
  12. I was just posting on a thread on Bagnell Dam about the pipe by Kimberling Bridge that appears to dump sewage into the lake. Now please correct me if I'm wrong, but on more than one occasion (always at night) I've notice what smells like raw sewage to be boiling up from this pipe. It's located about 50 yards west of the Kimberling City bridge on the north bluff bank. The pipe is mostly underwater but you can see guy wires running down to it. Has anyone else seen or noticed this happening? Chipper T
  13. Ozarkgunner: FYI- As long as you're not in the creek area above 160 bridge you are allowed keep walleye after dark during the period below, or at least that's how I've always understood it . "Walleye and sauger may be taken throughout the year--except from February 20 through April 14, when they may be taken and possessed only between one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset in the Swan Creek Arm of Bull Shoals Lake above Highway 160 and in the unimpounded portions of all streams, except the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. Walleye and sauger may not be possessed on waters or banks thereof during closed seasons or hours."
  14. Kramr - I was using the natural craw color. If you're looking for smallmouth in April I would target the area between the state park and the Dam in general (pea gravel pockets and coves). Wiggle warts and hula grubs are typically a good bet. If you're looking for Largemouth or crappie try Price, maze or turkey creek. Hope you enjoy your trip and good luck! Chipper T - a.k.a LipRipper
  15. Thanks for the reports. That looks like a nice tasty mess of Crappie Fly_Guy!
  16. BFC - water was slightly stained at starting at Turkey Creek and more so from Highpoint to Aldrich. It's probably changed by now though. No kb
  17. Fished Saturday out of Cedar Ridge. Water temp on the main lake when I arrived at 9:30 was 42-43 and 48 towards highpoint. Started off throwing a stick bait up in maze with nothing to show for it. Moved up towards Turkey creek and started catching fish on a wiggle wart right away. Caught 4 in a matter of 10 cast with three of them being solid keepers. After hitting that bank I thought it was going to be a great day. The bite slowed down in the afternoon and only ended up with 10 LM but 8 were keepers. Couldn't buy a jig fish all day to my amazement. Did get a few on a spinnerbait up towards the river. Warmest temp I found was 50-51 up near highpoint and main lake temp was 47 when I left at 6:45.
  18. mofisher - Thanks for sharing! A good boat mechanic you can trust is hard to find!
  19. I typically don't throw them much however, I have seen them work. A couple years back my dad was chucking one down by long creek and caught a 6.75 LM on the Mag.
  20. Snakem - I've had the most success on the V59, V62 and V63. Last week, I personally caught 35-40 total bass on the V63 at Table Rock and Bulls Shoals. My .02.
  21. edyer - Bridgeport is the area where the 76 bridge crosses over the lake heading into Cape Fair. Canes Hollow is about 4-5 miles upstream in the james river side where the river makes a horseshoe. You can see it by going to weather.com and zooming in on the satellite view. Next month the whites should be in the Galena area. FYI
  22. Fished Beaver Creek Saturday arriving to a parking packed parking lot. It was a beautiful morning and thought for sure the action would be hot and heavy...Nope! Fished for whites for about an hour and then decided to hit the lake for some blacks. Ended up catching 10 with three keepers (biggest going 3.5-4lbs.) All the gents I spoke with reported having a slow day as well. Still nice to get out and enjoy the warm weather.
  23. A little belated, but a buddy and I fished last Thursday around the Bridgeport area. Between the two of us we caught 50+ LM and KY with 11-12 keepers (biggest one going about 3.5lbs.) Water temps were 47-48 degrees and caught most of em on the ole' wart, but got some on a jig as well. Probably would caught more, but we fished for whites for a bit up in Canes. Decided to head back down Sunday afternoon for a few hours and go for some whites with an old neighbor. Ended up catching about 20-25, but most were extra small Dinks. Did catch a 2 nice sows and a few decent males in the channel suspended.
