  1. Thanks for the report techo! I'll be down tomorrow for a few days myself and hope to get into them!:-) - On a side note. I really have grown to love the UV buffs. They look kinda silly, but since I hate sunscreen, (and sunburn worse), they cover up the skin nicely, and are strangely comfortable. And I'm a warm natured guy, so it seemed very counter-intuitive at first. But after having it on a minute, I forget it's there. Did I mention I hate sunscreen?:-) - I've got a Simms brand and a Breath Like A Fish brand. Both very nice.
  2. I had no clue about mclelland talking about lava rock in the bottom of the lake. Is that accurate? I don't recall seeing any that stands out? - Or if I did see it; I just figured it was some kinda of darker moss/algae on rocks or something.
  3. Thanks willy! With Easter and all, that completely slipped my mind. I have the DVR set to catch Bassmasters episodes, but on charter it's just listed as 'fishing' in the title, but in the description, it says Bassmasters............so it would not have caught it.............that was a close one!:-)
  4. Fantastico!.......sounds like things certainly are coming along. Love that gp/orange. Thanks for the report.:-)
  5. - Depends on the boat/motor setup. They're killer on certain models. I'll leave manufacturer names out of it to avoid the ole ford vs. Chevy thing.
  6. Well done Dave. Those are some nice fish indeed!
  7. Thanks for the link rogue; I had not seen that yet. And like yourself; I love watching those elites hard at it!:-)
  8. Great report as always champ; love those air craws too! Nice to hear you got some love on that spinnerbait.:-)
  9. Dont dismiss any red suburban that might NOT have flames on it. Look closely........if they were vinyl graphics and the thief decided to peel them off, there should still be a VERY subtle difference from where the flames were, to where they were not.(lightly sun faded paint)
  10. - Cool vid ferg; I love seeing that kinda stuff! Keep it comin'.:-)
  11. Don't forget about the strike king 3x stuff made with ElaZtech. Works in a pinch.
  12. Lock this one down, Bill nailed it. That's a wrap!:-)
  13. - Amen brother! Nice pic and report quill.:-)
  14. - Bbbbooooo.........that's no fun.:-( - Thanks for the reply Alex!:-)
  15. - Did we ever get clarification on this?(I saw people's thoughts, but don't recall seeing a solid answer) I was curious too, and apologize if I overlooked the answer somewhere.
  16. Sorry for your loss snakem; that's always extremely difficult to deal with. Hopefully you have a lot of great memories to look back on!:-)
  17. I LOVE that the super long cast topic is brought up. I started 2 handed casting with my spinning rods years ago. Split grips help me hang onto them. And every cast, my rod actually makes a "whoosh" sound when I whip it. The guys I've fished with have made fun of me for years because of it; while they use one hand and just lazily 'lob' their bait in the water. Guess I can tell them now......."told yah":-) - And too, the working over a particular spot with multiple baits was VERY interesting to me. - (Stone county taxes.........too funny Dave!:-)
  18. - It still works on my iPhone; but no longer on the laptop. Not sure why!???!! - I can't help but wonder it they're holding out on some of the weight/count of fish caught at this point, to build suspense? Something seems off on the total weights/count of fish to me.
  19. - That sly dawg was holding out on us! (haha) It'll be cool to hear what he has to say tonight.:-)
  20. - thats what kinda made me ask too. didnt know how 'realtime' those updates are. looks like things dried up quick around KC; at least according to basstrakk and the blog; they got the heck outta there!
  21. i saw that too............thought maybe he was fishing a trout tourney!
  22. Anybody on the water able to confirm the accuracy of the boat locations on the ole BassTrakk function on the Bassmaster site?
  23. Great post and pics Alex and Sore. - I'd love to hear anymore details about the experience you happen to think of; re: what these guys do to seperate them from us mere mortals. - Not necessarily spots or baits, but some of the stuff Willy mentioned above. Like how long do they fish a spot before leaving it? Even if they catch a fish, or don't catch a fish? - Interesting to hear they are more thorough at working a spot over, especially with the clock ticking. - (You may not be at liberty to answer) But did they go into how they break down a lake in practice so quickly? And why did they choose to fish where they did, and when they did? Did they take a scientific approach to it? Gut instinct? Both ?:-) - Like I said, I'm really fascinated by the thought process. I need to just Marshall one of these days and see for myself! - Thanks again guys!
  24. - hahaha........."finesse nation" ......woot, woot!
  25. - I wondered that too........but I thought I read that KVD was goofing around and said he just punched in some bogus weights to "get some attention". So it sounds like its all dependant on how accurately they keep count on it?
