  1. - I get down to LOZ a few times a month to white bass fish at night. It's been a month plus since we've been catching them up in their usual shalloww haunts. Even the main channel deep spots, where they move up to a small ledge has been bare lately. But, did see them in the depths on the graph. Couldn't get them jigging a spoon, but others were. - So to answer your question, my guess is the shallow bite is long gone, and they're just plain deeeeeeppppp. - (at least for me anyway )
  2. Nice fish and pic Engr, that pic sure makes me miss The Rock......(sigh)........

  4. Release boat, that's it! I couldn't think of the actual name of it.
  5. - I wouldn't think the FLW. Usually the larger tournament operations have a pontoon boat, equipped with tanks filled with water, and oxygen tanks on board to oxygenate the water in the tanks for the fish. Then they take the fish somewhere out in the lake and release them. (But I could be wrong) - I've seen smaller tourneys use the water slide system though.
  6. Awesome report MoBass. A great one for those of us landlocked for awhile.
  7. - I would definitely have to fish a bit. But, I would be really interested to observe the pros. I did hear the weigh-ins and other booths/activities are pretty cool. - I'll definitely shout at yah if I come down techo. I'm already bummed about the colder months ahead. Sometimes they take forever to make way for spring.
  8. I saw that the other day denjac. Like you said, some will be happy; some not so. - I was thinking of coming down for those few days to see how those guys get things done. (as a spectator boat and watch the weigh-ins) - Anybody who haas been a spectator before at one of these larger events; what were your impressions? - (I'd just like to see the big boys catch 'em )
  9. I'm with yah Sherwood. That's a shame they're closing. They carried quite a bit of stuff Cabelas and BPS would never think of carrying.
  10. Great pix abkeenan! That little man and you look like trouble with a capital 'T'! That grin he has is great. Looks like a chip off the ole block. - And that smallie on the boat seat, looks like he's ready to go for a spin. - Good job. I love seeing these kinda pix and reading the reports, for times when I can't get out on the water.
  11. - I'm with yah Sam, my cheap side won't let me spend $28 on a lure. Even if I did, I'd be terrified to throw it/lose it. Even at the 40% off, That's still a bit rich for my blood. - They're incredible lures, I just wish I could bring myself to buy some.
  12. Gabe, - I got this e-mail the other day (as I choose to be on their list), and looks like it might be able to save you some money. - I have no affiliation with the company, I've just purchased from them in the past and they have fast shipping and fantastic service! - Anywho, all Megabass products are temporarily 40% off. (The 110's are regular $28.95 less the 40% really knocks it down) It looks like they strill have some great colors in the 110's available too. - http://www.gloomis.us/Default.aspx?pid=109416 - The company is American Legacy Fishing in Evansville Indiana. (I hear it's a brick and mortar store you can visit too) - Here's a link to that thread Bill had about the Megabass. He mentioned a few of the colors, but I'm with yah; I'm curious which ones worked best for him too. - http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?s...amp;hl=megabass - Hope your able to save a little money.
  13. -If you get out this weekend Becky, be sure to let us know how you do! - (Those of us who can't get to The Rock very frequently, have to fish vicariously through others reports. )
  14. GGGGGgggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! - Nothing to report. Got out of work late, was hustling down to the Ozarks from the St.Louis area. Hit construction traffic on 70, backed up for miles. By the time we broke loose, my partner and I decided to double back. - Due to obligations at home on Saturday, I can only fish until about 2 a.m. This would've only given us 2-3 hours to fish, by the time we would've got down there. Not worth the trouble!
  15. Good report cs, and great looking fish in those pix!
  16. Good report techo. That had me chuckling out loud. Funny stuff. - Certainly with your son out with you; as a man, he has far better vision and estimating skills than the mrs. Let us know how you guys do. - (And lets hope Donna G or any other fine ladies on OAF don't read this )
  17. I'm with yah TK, I'd like to hear if anyone has been out lately. I think I may come up friday night and fish. I'm kinda watching the weather though. Looks like temps will be tolerable, but the wind may really be whipping. - After being up all day working, than staying up most of the night to fish, I get a bit weary fighting the wind/weather sometimes. Staying up 24+ hours can sometimes put the hurt on me. But I'll post the details if I get out.
  18. Man, that's aweful when your partner completely shuts you out! Shameful. - I thought about fishing the am side myself before, but like you said dtrs; why roll the dice, when you could spend that money towards a guide. I'd be afraid of getting a crappy partner.
  19. So lets here it Jeremy. Any good bowhunting? - And better yet, lets get some details on that new boat of yours! I'm excited for yah!
  20. Dang, that stinks for your buddy. That's a tough one for a non-boater. If your boater is drop-shotting, what the heck else you supposed to do? - Other techniques give you some options at least. - I was thinking a blade bite might be around, but didn't want to embarass myself with a guess like that. Usually I'm wrong.
  21. Way to go Jeremy! Congrats! That's so great to get your first glass boat out of a victory like this.
  22. That's a crying shame loo. - From what I hear, that's a very common method of theft. Dirtbags will even walk in the house while the homeowners mowing, to steal stuff. Sadly, the world is not what it used to be. Days of leaving doors open/unlocked are long gone. Not like when I was a kid. - This thread is worth keeping up top. I'd love to seee those fools caught here too!
  23. Holy Moly dtrs! THat purple and chartreuse looks GREAT! And I'm addicted to that belly up rogue. Looks like I may have to get some painted belly up. Too cool! - How many hours of your time do you have in each of those rogues? I'm just curious, it seems very labor intensive.
  24. I get down about every other weekend to fish for white bass at night. (Only in the Glaize arm though, but this may still help) It's been a few weekends, but the pattern for the whites was that they did not seem to be moving up on our shallower spots. (long, gradual sloping pea gravel banks). We had better consistent luck out in the main channel of the Glaize, holding the boat in about 10-15', where theres a nice dropoff to deeper water. - I religiously throw Cabelas Rad Shads in the 2" size, in the blues/silver colors, suspending model. A slow smooth retrieve, with constant hard pulls/jerks to give the bait an erratic appearance works well. - Here's a link to the Rad Shads. And at $4.00 a piece, I don't mind so much when they get destroyed. - http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...rset=ISO-8859-1
