  1. Like others, I dig the scent pastes (mega strike, Kvd scent sticks, etc) in the glue-stick style containers. They stay on the drag baits longer and aren't too messy. - Funny thing is; my buddy and I that I fish with joke about not having enough 'Sawce!' On our baits; when we aren't getting bit. So we then slop it on..........strangely enough...........we tend to get bit shortly thereafter. Not sure if it's actually the 'Sawce!'.........or just a renewed confidence in what we are throwing that gets our head back in the game?.:-P............either way, I always have some handy in the boat.
  2. Any slip is fair game when weather rolls in. I've never had an issue with dock owners when I've had to take shelter. But, like Dave mentioned above, if there's a call for some weather in the forecast; I also prefer not to run too far from home base. - The 'Spark Indicator' on weatherbug is a great feature. And now, the weather channel and MyRadar apps will send you push notifications of lightning or other weather hazards approaching. Weather channel can send notifications of when rain will begin. Heck, I just got an alert indicating rain will begin in 5 minutes; just checked the radar and sure enough; small storm cell pushing in, minutes away. VERY slick! - I was working outside yesterday and the weather channel app sent me realtime notifications when lightning was detected about 5 miles out. Even without the app open. And I was working down in a slight valley in the yard; and had no clue weather was even approaching. Typical springtime storm. Small storm cell popped up a few miles out.
  3. Bo should be along shortly with some details. He's a night fishing regular, and mentioned the other day he was gonna start getting out at night soon.
  4. Great pic; the kids ruined now. Tough to top that one next time out. - Glad to hear that fish gets to fight again!
  5. Beautiful fish Quill! Well done sir.:-)
  6. This thread was started in 2015........I don't know if they ever restocked them after clearancing them off.
  7. I'm thinking those might just be mass produced swimbaits sold to multiple companies to label them as their own? - Reason I say that is they look VERY familiar to me; like they have been around for years; under different brand names. - Swimbaits can be very fickle; be cautious of baits that might look great; because getting them to float/sink and/or swim properly can be a tricky proposition. Try and read some good reviews on swimbaits before spending too much. Richy is a swimbait ace on the boards here; and should be along shortly. He can really offer some great advice on affordable swimbaits that work great on Table Rock. Sadly, I have not had such success with them, as I have the attention span of a 5th grader.:-P..........and my memory is not so slick as to recall his recommendations from prior posts either. - There are a lot of good looking; affordable swimbaits on eBay if you take a look. Plenty of cheap, U.S. Shipping too. Possibly the ones like in your link can be found there too?
  8. In the buy/sell/trade forum - http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/forum/23-buy-sell-trade/ - not sure about sales in the TR specific forum........but I would kinda doubt it.
  9. Ton of great info Ben. Thanks for posting this. The pix are a cool addition to the water temps too. Great to actually see the waters appearance in the different areas. - It'll be interesting to hear others thoughts on the water temp variations.
  10. That's funny.......Ive never seen that video.:-) - I was unfamiliar with the Garmin Panoptix line until this video; so I googled it to check it out. That's some cool technology. It'll be even cooler as the technology progresses and they sharpen the images up too!
  11. Congrats cheese! Quite the Christmas present to yourself.:-)
  12. I thought I read years ago; that the old original warts were so great; because of lower quality control during their manufacturing? (Perfectly imperfect maybe?) - And too; I fear no matter how close to the original old warts; any new ones produced are.............it may prove tough to compete with the 'mystique' that surrounds the old ones. - But I'm with Bo on this one; if Iovino can make some new ones that more closely replicate the old originals, at a reasonable price. I'd buy some.:-)

    NED Rig

Same here. I posted a report from this spring on the new money color working a bit better than the other; but both were effective.
  14. Well done there gitnby! Love the pix:-) - On an unrelated topic; what is that floating contraption there off that rocky point by the port of kimberling anyway? (I've always wondered, but have forgotten to ask)
  15. ah gotcha.........I could see sidescan being a very real possibility. - I have seen over the years, (online of course) several redneck applications of home brew sidescan, where guys have just mounted transducers at 90 degree angles on their transom or trolling motor.(one on an old pontoon boat also) Guys who have done it have posted screen shots;'and it looked completely normal and the owners said it worked great...........but I can't help but think, that might just be internet lore. Cause if it was that easy; there would be no point buying sidescan? - Laugh away if needed; no hurt feelings here.:-P
  16. im with you rps.........I'm not a big tech guy.........and my wife and I just needed new smartphones which is why we got the iPhone 6 Plus (she needs it for work); then when I saw these wi-fi setups for the boat; I was just blown away.ni still just shake my head at how darn cool it all is! - Both the vexilar and raymarine setups, I believe are under $200 too! - Hey balsa; I've heard a lotta buzz of raymarine coming out with side scan.........is that the word on the streets?.......or people just wishful thinking:-( (or maybe word on the street and wishful thinking are the same thing?:-P
  17. I was concerned with the glare thing myself. So I downloaded the free vexilar app and you can run a demo mode and fiddle with settings for free. And surprisingly, my new iPhone 6 Plus did a MUCH better job than I thought it would outside. Same amount of glare as my lowrance units. - So I may just end up going with the vexilar or raymarine wifi setup myself and ditch my lowrance units.......I get tired of lugging them in and out of the boat every time we go out, when I can use my smartphone that's already with me.
  18. Well done as usual Alex........and thanks for posting. You sure do have a knack for catching those Bigguns!
  19. Interesting thread for multiple reasons on my end. No clue about the numbers stocked or the cannabilism.:-)
  20. I haven't tried the gorilla brand.........but, I've actually tried several different brands and style of glues; the Loctite brand gel in the blue/grey bottle is the only one to not have an adverse reaction with the Elaztec plastics; at some point or another. At least or me:-(
  21. quill and rps are dead on; 2 pronged approach........stretch the salt out and use daves heads. I've had some pre-rigged for months with no problems.
  22. That's awesome stuff Cody! Makin' memories.......that's what it's all about.:-)
  23. That's interesting that a 43 foot boat goes missing and water patrol only hears about it when there are reports of boat debris on the surface. Seems like someone would report something like that missing?........strange.
  24. I hope this case goes nowhere........because just like the hotdog incident above; there's an assumption of risk going into Lamberts. Everyone knows darn well what to expect going in there. - Sorry Fly_Guy; maybe years ago it would have worked; but I can't see it coming to fruition in this litigious society.:-P..........too many dreamcrushers out there:-(...........but keep dreamin' brother, I like the way you think!:-)
  25. That's very interesting stuff Bill. Thanks for posting that.:-) - It's always interesting to hear you relay information from Shane. Nice to get some scientific insight from him on what's taking place over the years on the lake.
