  1. Yes he was using a Rapala DT6 in the Ike's Ink Demon color. Caught the majority of fish on it he said. Then said he needed a bait to get to 8-10 ft and dumped out a bucket of stuff that Livingston had given him and he had no idea what was in there and a crank in a similar red craw pattern was in the bunch and it ran 8-10 feet and he caught most of his big ones on it and culled up with it the last day.
  2. I don't think there is any doubt. Then Luck E Strike will match it only it will cost 3.99.
  3. I always thought Okuma has always had very aggressive pricing on their gear and usually pretty good reviews on all their reels (spinning or bait caster) as well as their rods. Priced below the Daiwa's, Shimano's. Quantum's, etc.
  4. Looks like Tackle Warehouse just got a big shipment in and they have all colors in stock.
  5. x 2. Made a stop in there and picked some up last year. Phil has a nice little setup down there on Taney.
  6. They look like these from lurepartsonline.com 1.99 for 3" and 2.99 for 4" and 10 per pack. Have them in both the paddle and swimming tail. Not the cheapest but not expensive either. Could probably find them cheaper somewhere online if you look.
  7. Maybe that warm wind with get those surface/waer temps up quicker and get them going on the jerk bait soon. All the reports are great but I love a good report of someone just wearing the paint off a jerker.
  8. Was also going to say that fish looks thinner than it ought to be for its size. Nice fish none the less and hope this is a sign that easier fishing is to come which the warming trend. Nice report Bill.
  9. 71lbs 2oz
  10. Pflueger guy here. Have the newest model Pflueger Supreme MGX and for $100 I don't think it can be beat in that price range. Interested to see how the new Lew's spinning models will be received and judged. Lew's has seriously stepped up their game on the bait casters the last couple of years since their reemergence in the market and I would expect the spinning gear to be great also.
  11. Yes. Paca Chunks are my go to jig trailer. Claws get ripped off pretty easy but I love the color selection, the size selection and the action of the claws. I also use the C-Mac big worms and again great assortment of colors. Prices are fair also. Big Netbait fan.
  12. The Busch Wildlife lakes have been frozen for like 3 months. Pathetic.
  13. I am a YUM Dinger guy as well. I would use the elaztec and Zinker stuff but I loaded up on Dingers after I had success on them a couple years ago so when they run out I will give the zinkers a try. But the Dingers flat out work no doubt.
  14. Dave has the best heads for the Ned Rig. Being that I don't pour my own stuff like him I just get mine at Wally World's fishing section which aren't as good but they do the trick just fine. They are made by Arkie and are a button head stand up model with a single cable wire guard and they have them in 1/8oz and 1/4oz. The 1/8oz plays in just about every situation and is almost the ideal weight for hitting both shallow or deep. That is just my opinion and I think Dave likes a smaller weight than that. On my 7'M Cara and Pflueger Supreme with 8lb Yozuri setup I can cast this thing out of sight. They are like $2.50 for a 5 pack.
  15. Yep. We fish for bluegill, long ear and green ear sunfish that will just hammer little Lindy spinners with a tiny jig head and tiny crappie tube attached. Its fun for kids or people that need immediate bites/action to keep them entertained and heck I even like fishing for the little boogers. You hit the right spots and its a fish per cast. It is basically a beetle spin only smaller and we load the boat with them when we need them for trot lines. Anyways we ALWAYS catch bass on them and last year in late June or early July I was down fishing with my wife WHO NEVER fishes and she caught about an 18" LM on one in the heat of the day which was about 90+ that day. It made my day seeing her catch that. So yes big fish WILL eat small baits. 18" is not a "lunker" but that is bigger than average on any given day.
  16. That's fine. Nobody said it was a "miracle bait" anywhere in this thread or in any of the articles. There are plenty of pics of nice fish taken on small lures just on this forum alone. Babler has posted he caught his LARGEST FISH ever on Table Rock around 9-10lbs on a tiny float n' fly jig that isn't more than a 1/16oz bait and he has been fishing this lake since the 60's or 70's. There was a post last year of a guy catching a 7ish pounder on a little 4 or 5 inch finesse worm on shakey head in the middle of the afternoon. For someone that doesn't fish the Ned Rig or Alabama rig you certainly have a lot of opinions on it from "experience" with them at your ripe age.
  17. I don't think Ned is putting his name on it at all and it's not like he is self-promoting it from a profit standpoint. Someone just attributed his name with refining that rig and style of fishing. He stands nothing to gain from it. If he didn't share his info on it Dave might never have heard or read up on it of it which means I might never have heard of it and that would be a real shame because this thing puts fish in the boat as good as any rig I've tried. Especially when things get tough. Had I not read up on the Jika Rig and posted my findings a few years ago here maybe a few guys on OA wouldn't have heard of it and never tried fishing it which again would be a real shame as it's a fish catcher as well. Who cares who invented it? It's about sharing info...which this site and it's members do better than anywhere else.
  18. Somebody call the fire department this one's out of control. But seriously this thread is about the most die hard wiggle wart thread ever in the history the internet that Al Gore was so kind to invent. To bad he can't restore global warming because this cold just flat out sucks. It's pretty pathetic when you watch the news and see the weather forecast and they are calling for low 40's temperatures and you get excited. If you read this entire thread and aren't a wiggle wart expert by now you have a problem.
  19. Very nice. Caught on a lot of various baits as well. Nice job.
  20. That is going to be my new joke. Every fish I catch I will just throw a pink helicopter lure in there mouth and snap a pic.
  21. Would probably have to cut a wart in two and scan both halves. 3D print it and glue them together....just like they did back in the day at STORM.
  22. Wow that is the first I've heard of this. From everything else guys on BBC and other website forums have said Megabass has pretty much told them to go take a hike as far as replacing baits that had broken bills.
  23. Good read there Dave. So when is the reinvented helicopter lure going to make another round? Its been almost 20 years since its introduction and should be the next big thing again soon. Can't wait to get duped again! Although it is hard to improve on perfection so I don't see how it can be done.
  24. Trophy. Those look AWESOME.
