  1. It's almost like they wanted the split ring on the line tie to lay flush to the bill because that recessed hole is the same size and depth. No idea why they wanted to do that but someone thought it was a good idea.
  2. If you look back 4 or 5 pages ago this was brought up with regards to the "cup" in the lip. They are original to the bait and not a tweak to the bait by someone. I have a few like this and Dave also put up some pics with examples of his also.
  3. First off, those look great Dave. Secondly, spot on with don't just stick to craw patterns. I like the craw patterns myself but my grandfather who fished Table Rock since the 70's and lived there since the 80's threw just one color and one color only and has PLENTY of fish and BIG fish to show for it. It was not a craw pattern either. Looks similar to one of your custom paints in the pic....I'll let you figure it out. It's a family favorite.
  4. Here is a little more info on the spy baiting technique. Looks like I am caving even before there are any reports here saying they killed them on them. My wife will be so happy with me! http://www.wired2fish.com/the-effectiveness-of-spy-baiting/

I find that hard to believe that Bill would have deleted a post about sports. Maybe the tone of the thread is what may have gotten it deleted. Maybe you would be best served by finding the Big 12 Forum and crying about it there with Bill Self. This is for SEC member only and you weren't invited. SEC! SEC! SEC!
  6. Just started snowing here...AGAIN...about 10 minutes ago. Ugh. I want to break Old Man Winter's hip.
  7. Flash their Pro Card? Flash their Hooters on the women's circuit? I will need to see photo verification in either case.
  8. JPB, Don't know if you belong too or have ever heard of bassboatcentral.com but they have a HUGE swap/sell/trade forum for all things fishing from lures to rods to reels to electronics to trolling motors, etc. That is your best bet for finding a used or even new LH Citica or Curado. Just have to look every so often on the boards there. Always some of what you are looking for put up for trade of sale. Here is the link to the boards there: http://www.bbcboards.net/reels-4-sale/ You might find someone here who knows but there are 1000 times as many guys on BBC than here and odds are just better of finding something.

I've watched just about every fishing show that has been on or that I have hoarded on my DVR....I am almost to the point of having to watch Roland Martin advertising, I mean, fishing show. It's getting ugly.
  10. Techo texted me this from the ramp at aunts creek this morning when he tried to launch. Might thaw out by August he said.

While I made fun of that fatboy more than most (he was a easy and big target) I will give credit where credit is due and he made that program pretty decent for a spell there. Turner Gill came in and wow....pretty sure Blue Springs South could have given any of Gill's teams a run for their money. They have dug themselves a hole that is going to be hard to dig out of unless another Mangino type comes along to save them. Hey at least you have basketball. My Tigers look in disarray and watching them play on TV is like watching the And 1 Tour. Fundamentals out the door and who can score the most buckets with zero regard for turnovers, designed plays, defense or actually passing the proper person. Street ball is out of control in Columbia. Also doesn't help that Haith can't recruit at all other than get pretty good transfers that are unhappy in their situation elsewhere at another college. The fact that Rosburg plays more than 5 minutes per game speaks to the lack of talent at the center position and Haith's lack of ability to recruit well. If that is the best center you can find in the entire state of Missouri then we have a serious problem. Rant over. Now what was the original topic of this thread? Ice?
  12. Saw those awhile back and in the description it used to state "for painting practice only they do not swim correctly" or something along those lines. After you get those for 2 bucks and then have them custom painted you and throw hooks and split rings you are looking at minimum around 10 bucks a bait (unless you paint them yourself). IMO for that kind of price just buy the real deal.

KU still has a football program? When Mangino was fired and left I figured he just ate the football team which is why I haven't heard a single thing about KU football since 2008.
  14. Dang it you guys. Now after like 2 days ago saying I am not gonna get any I am 2nd guessing myself. Son of a.......
  15. Hahahaha. Too funny.

Getting back to a previous thread I said I don't like to fish if it is below 45 degrees or so. Golf is much the same except I bump that up about another 15 degrees to about 60. Spring and summer had better be good to us for this punishment we have taken so far this winter and I am sure there is more in store for us. That frickin' Gopher and his shadow.
  18. Because RPS, then they really wouldn't have time to fix the Healthcare.gov website.
  19. Yes I throw them. With the deeper water in the dam area sometimes you need something to hit a little deeper and I can hit about 5 feet or so deeper on the mag wart than the standard wart. Not really sure why more guys don't throw the mag size warts.
  20. I'm sure the first post with someone slaying them on one will send me reeling for my laptop and buying a few from TWarehouse.
  21. I don't see why it would have any different hookup rate than a jerk bait? Which for me is about as high a percentage as it gets with a fishing lure. Not quite sure why Old Plug thinks it wouldn't have a good hookup rate.
  22. Lets face facts Dave, you really are just looking for ANY excuse to fill out that pegboard in the garage. Lets not beat around the bush and call a spade a spade.
  23. I hope you do and I could easily eat my words. But I just don't see the allure of this bait or how it is really any different than a rapala countdown minnow (aside from the obvious missing prop).
  24. Yes for the most part from what I have read. I am not buying into this "spy baiting" fad. I'd rather throw a jerk bait to suspended fish or swim a grub through them. On TR one would think you'd lose more in the tree tops than catch fish. A sinking prop bait? Come on. This is a rare instance where I will pass on the latest lure.
