  1. This is what I use in 3" for my A-Rigs. So easy to just take out of the pack and pop them on the wires. Look good in the water, have good colors, can get them at Wally World and are about a buck a piece which is about as cheap or cheaper than zoom swimming flukes (not counting jig/hook) plus they are pre-rigged with a decent hook unlike other swimbaits.
  2. Hahaha. Too true and I think the worst offenders on the road. If you are a woman and under 30, apparently the engine of your vehicle will stall out unless you are constantly texting while driving. Any time I pass a teen girl driving I would be willing to bet they are on their phone either talking, texting, social media surfing or candy crushing about 90% of the time.
  3. I'd agree with that. Spots seem to be taking over this lake, at least on my end near the dam. Its a rarity when I hook into a LM. I'm sure Bill and the guides will disagree because those little 13" boogers save their bacon on blistering summer days when the going is tough. But I will leave it up to MDC to decide as they know more than we ever could.
  4. Palaniuk seems to be a nice kid and a heck of a fisherman. The guy was sleeping in his truck to save money on motels during tournaments to make ends meet and now is really making a name for himself in the big circuits and doing really well. Good for him.
  5. I know right where that is then. Always fish around that dock because its 50 yards from that deep bluff wall, and has a string of cedars running from that bluff end on the point running all the way past those 3 docks (I believe that is how many are on that one bank) headed to the back of the cove. Good spot.
  6. Nice report and nice fish. Could that fish be a LM/KY hybrid by any chance? I have never heard of that but if a smallie and a KY can get together I don't see why a LM and KY couldn't do that same? It looks too much like a KY in the pic to be a full LM I think but I am no biologist. Thanks for posting. That skinny 20" LM come off the south side of point 2 by any chance?
  7. Kalin's grubs has a green pumpkin purple flake in 5".
  8. He has it on his site. Saw it today.
  9. Thanks for the tip Champ/Ranger. I will pick up a spool next time I need to fill my reels. As far as p-line fluoro clear goes I really liked it for my spinning gear in the 8lb test. I gave the Yozuri Hybrid a shot and liked it a little more so I have stuck with that since. I was using p-line fluoro clear in 4lb for my pan fish/crappie/ultra light fishing and I do not like it. Stuff is strong but for one reason or another it did NOT hold a knot well so I have now switched to Yozuri hybrid 4lb as well on my pan fish gear.
  10. x 2. My exact setup for jigs. Bottom contact/finesse baits = Berkley 100% fluoro. Spoons, Jerks and Cranks = Seagar InvisX. Spinning gear Yozuri Hybrid. Topwater and Blades = 17-20lb XL/Big Game mono. Bama Rig - 60lb powerpro.
  11. Jerry, What is your deal with calling people out on items that they have listed for sale? This is now at least the 3rd post that I have seen where you are basically calling people out on asking prices or even suggesting people buy from other sources that are cheaper elsewhere than what the person trying to sell here had for sale in the buy/sell/trade forum on OAFF. I think it is in bad form and you need to mind your own business. You don't like the asking price or item...... fine. No biggy as that is your right. But to keep questioning people about the price they are asking or hindering a potential sale or kill someones interest is BS.
  12. Looks like someone had dog poo on their boots and walked all over the back deck of this rig. Guys that did it probably think Steez reels and Falcon rods stink from the looks of the boot tread patterns. Just kidding Bill. What a beautiful boat and it looks IMMACULATE....no surprise there. Good luck with the sale.
  13. Berkley Flicker Shad comes to mind. Or Spro McRip. Or River2Sea Susp Minnow 88 or Jerkshad. All half or ever a quarter of the price of the MB.
  14. Have to agree with Calwood here. He would be lucky to hit 120. Just doesn't have enough tines to come close to 140+. None the less its a very nice deer for Southern Missouri/Northern Arkansas. Start planting corn and food plots then draining half of Table Rock per year to water those fields and maybe you will get your 150,160,170+ class bucks with 300lb bodies. Some selfish fisherman might be opposed to that plan.
  15. Nice report and nice pics. That bucks antlers have some mass on them for a southern acorn eating deer for sure. Almost looks like a Mulley. Probably don't get a whole lot bigger than that in that neck of the woods. At least he is abiding by the law as I don't see any no wake buoys in the pic as he is throwing a nice one.
  16. Saw this on BBC and thought of this post here on OAFF. Maybe reach out to this guy on BBC. http://www.bbcboards.net/lures-fishing-stuff-personal-sales/395454-vintage-bagley-rapalas-storms.html
  17. I also go with the retractable dog leash rig with the old blue David Fritz lure gripper retriever attached. Has saved me COUNTLESS baits, mostly being jerk baits. Its been a real life saver and has actually made me a better fisherman in the fact that I have no fear of throwing or losing a jerk bait/cranker in an area littered with trees or brush therefore I get more bites. Have been using this setup for about 5 years and have lost just 1 bait in that time and that was because the wind was just HOWLING down a creek in Long Creek and just could not get the boat positioned right or held long enough to get it. Still bitter about losing that Norman Flake McStick. hahaha.
  18. I've finally started my 12 step program to rid myself of hoarding jerk baits and to STOP buying anymore jerkbaits and just stick to my ole' faithful....the SPRO McStick 110. Will the megabass outfish it at times? Sure. Will a rogue outfish the megabass at times? Sure. It all evens out in the end IMO and I am just going to stick to my go to and save the $ for gas. For $11.49 or whatever the cost of the McSticks are I find them to be the most well made, true running out of the pack with nice gammy hooks and with a good color selection when compared to cost of other brands.
  19. Emjay, Doesn't seem like you are getting much a response here for that rod and you might be better off posting it over on bassboatcentral in the rods for sale/swap forum there. Don't know if you have an account there but it is a much larger site than here at OAF with a broader audience, a lot more buying/selling/trading going on and lots of guys that LOVE JDM gear. Might give that a try if you don't mind shipping the rod or maybe still find someone somewhat local that is on that site but not this one. Don't even know if you have the rod but thought I might help ya get it sold. -Brett
  20. Ha. I haven't been down to the Rock since early June so I don't know what the water clarity is at this point in the dam area. If you are wanting to dive that area I need a chain that is laying at the bottom of the cove in about 50+ feet of water reattached to our wake buoy! Don't want to have to drop another concrete anchor in the lake and get more chain for it. Ha.
  21. Yes. There was a thread going around back in April which an article link about divers saying how far they could see this year when under the water. Maybe go back and dig around in previous posts during that time. I posted back in April after a weekend trip down there that it was indeed the clearest I have even seen it. Was in Jakes Branch in the dam area and hung my A-Rig on a dock cable in about 25-30ft of water and could see those white baits just a clear as day. It was unreal.
  22. There were 3 lures that came out at iCast 2013 that caught my eye: 1. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Manns_Three_For_All/descpage-MTFA.html 2. http://www.wired2fish.com/icast-2013-koppers-livetarget-unveils-baitball-lures/ 3. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Booyah_Boo_Spin_Rig_/descpage-BYBSR.html I know the last Booyah product isn't anything really new and walleye and troller guys have been using bottom bouncers with cranks and stuff like that for decades but its kinda neat to see it introduced as a bass lure and I can see some of those models being productive at times. Throwing that Boo Flex with some sort of crank attached on long runout points in 30-40 ft of water could be deadly at times.
  23. Its funny how much fisherman spend on rods, reels, line, gas, boats, tricking out the boat, electronics, lodging, etc and usually have no problem doing so.....but when it comes to losing an $8 cranker/$11 jerkbait/$3 jig its like someone kicked you in the gut. I am not even talking about your "lucky" lure that has boated you tons of fish and if you lose it ruins your day. I am as guilty as anyone with this warped mentality. I spend more on snacks, power ball tickets and scratch offs at Twin Island on my way down to TR than I do on the amount of lost tackle for an entire weekend yet if I lose 3 jigs in a day it what a catastrophe! On a side note very nice report and good for you figuring out a pattern for some NICE fish. Even more kudos for giving up that pattern to the forum.
  24. Nice. There have been times I have gone out in the boat only to come back in and learn that I caught less than my uncle who just stayed at the dock and cast around it. That KY in the 2nd pick is either eating extremely good or hasn't spawned yet??? Nice report. Bet those cats put up a good fight for them.
