I believe that to be true. Bo posted here a month or two back that he needed an extra hand in production and had Al pouring heads for his NuTech jig mold. Bo can chime in and correct me if I am wrong but I think that is what he posted.
-
No. They are a different design and different manufacturers. Not knocking any other jig company but, in my opinion, the head design of Bo's jigs coupled with his unique weed guard makes them stand heads and shoulders above the rest of jigs on the market.
-
Literally doing that as we speak. DVR'd the Major League Fishing from Ouachita while the fire is nice and stoked. Pretty stoked about it.
-
Wow. You two are quite the gamers. I love fishing but by golly that looks miserable. My knuckles are splitting just looking at those photos. If you fish those conditions out of love for the sport you should be handsomely rewarded with, at minimum, a 6lb fish. Thanks for sharing.
-
Funny thing is you just never know when a discontinued bait DOES become a collectors item or spikes in value. When Xcalibur sold out their One Knocker lipless baits and jerkbaits, they were (and still are I believe) going for like 5-10x retail price. We all know about the Pre Rap warts here on OA. Other baits such as the RI Vixens and Squeaky Dolphins, BPS Lazer Eye Swimbait "Steve Kennedy Special"and even the old BPS Tornado Spinnerbait fetch some just STUPID prices (check Ebay). So between Champ, Quill and legend status hoarder himself DTRS5KPRS aka Super Dave, they are basically sitting on an accruing value that puts Bitcoin to shame.

Official Ozark Anglers Fantasy Fishing League 2018

If that's the wrap on the lake wonder why the heck BASS chose it. I never really understand a lot of BASS's decision making process in regards to what lakes it chooses. Seems to me they go to the same lakes a bit to often for my taste. The last 6 Classics they will have gone to either Hartwell or Grand in 4 of those years. Lame. I know they chose locations that lend themselves to fan turnout and ease of weigh in sites, but still. Never have any events out West on some of the California lakes that kick out 10-15lb class fish which I think would be interesting. -
I also buy them naked and put my own skirts on there. Saves a little bit of $ and you get the exact color pattern you are after.
-
Hush up with that color, you.
-
Seth, I have both the "Pro Series" which is the original and also the "Blitz" which is the football head style. I also have recently bought the updated Elite model which is the original head design but comes with a bigger and stouter Trokar hook. I think it was a great update as there is a wider "bite" on the hook for an even better hook up percentage. Bo has also recently come out with a "Grass" model and I've seen him say here on the boards that it is now his personal preference. So if I were you I'd pick up a few of both the Grass models and a few of the Elite models.
-
Not sure as I don't use them. I know they produce some good gear as a lot of local TR guys use them. But if you are in the market for some jigs I would suggest picking up a couple of Bo's NuTech' s to at least try. One, he is a board member here and two they flat out work. Only jig I've used for the last 3-4 years. No I am not sponsored by him or hawking his product for personal gain. I have no skin in the game. They just do as they claim (hard to snag and hit home in the roof of the mouth 99% of the time) and again supporting a board member here should be kinda a no brainer.

Official Ozark Anglers Fantasy Fishing League 2018
abkeenan replied to abkeenan's topic in Table Rock Lake
Their website sucks for starters. Anglers over there are not nearly as well known, especially outside of the top handful of guys on the FLW. FLW also does not get the coverage like BASS does (live streams, BASStrakk, TV coverage of the event weeks later, etc) so it just doesn't appeal to me, or most fantasy guys as best I can tell. Have signed up for FLW before but never pay attention in the end. Bottom line is that it just isn't as much fun. I do watch the FLW Tour events on TV when they are broadcast because they have a decent production there. But I, myself, enjoy doing the BASS Fantasy deal and then watching my picks a month or two later on TV to see exactly how they won, placed in the near the top or tanked. Just adds an enjoyable element for me as I like to see the" how and why's" of the best guys in the world breaking down a body of water. Not to start a FLW vs BASS Elite thread (plenty of those over on BBC if you're interested) but BASS is like watching MLB and FLW is like watching Single A ball. Not to say that FLW doesn't have some real sticks in there that could compete with the Elites. But, if you want to fish against the BEST anglers in the world you make the jump to fish the Elite Tour. -
Official Ozark Anglers Fantasy Fishing League 2018

Just a heads up that the season starts 4 weeks from today. So still plenty of time for everyone to join. At the same time it's an early start to the season this year with Lake Martin starting on Feb. 8-11th. So be sure to set your rosters before that roster lock on the morning of Feb. 8th. Good luck all. -

Official Ozark Anglers Fantasy Fishing League 2018

Hahaha. People always over on BBC start threads complaining about winning boats or boat certificates at Tournament XYZ. In the end, yeah, you pay associated taxes and all the fee's that come with purchasing a new boat. But in the end you are getting a $35,000-$40,000 brand new rig at 80%+ off. Hard to complain about that, unless you are a BBC member. In which case you will complain about anything under the sun. -

Guys and Gals, I have gone ahead and set up the official Ozark Anglers private league for this years BASS Fantasy Fishing League. All OAF members are encouraged and welcome to join. It's simple to join, play and does not require much time or effort. Just be sure to enter a team each and every tournament and you will be fine. Takes less than 5 min to fill out a roster each event. IF you would like to join our league you are AGREEING TO SEND 1 BAIT OF YOUR CHOOSING AT YEAR END, REGARDLESS IF YOU WIN OR NOT. Baits should be kept in the $5-10 value range. Was a lot of fun last year and I think it went well. I hope that everyone that was on the "winners list" received a bait from those that were supposed to send them. **** If anyone last year did not receive a bait from a participant last year please PM me as we will DISALLOW them this year.**** This was and is on the honor system but we need to weed out the deadbeats going forward. If you want to join our league PM me direct to get the password to be able to enter to league (done this way to keep randoms entering the league since this is a widely viewed public forum). You must register here if you are new to fantasy fishing: http://bassmasterfantasy.com/ Please use your same handle on the fantasy fishing league as you have here on the OAF. Makes it easier. Lets have a great year and looking forward to getting redemption after last years shortcomings. -Brett For information on how to play, click here: http://bassmasterfantasy.com/HowToPlay.aspx or read below: How To Play Check out the FAQ for answers to some of the more frequently asked questions. Registration To enter, fill out the free registration form on Bassmasterfantasy.com. After registering, click on the “Create Team” button on the game’s front page to participate in the game. After registering, you are ready for Fantasy Fishing Challenge. A valid email address and password will be used as an identifier to log in to game play and to keep track of your team’s score and standing. You will be able to see your team’s score any time you return to the game with your email and password. Assembling your Team To assemble your team, first select an angler slot in the ‘Available Anglers’ panel on the right side of the screen. Then, select an individual angler from the free agent list by clicking the green + button icon next to his name. Repeat the process until you have selected five (5) anglers (one from each group). Adds and drops are saved automatically. Note: In order to receive points, your roster must contain 5 anglers. Setting your Tie-breaker Enter a tie-breaker guess at the bottom of the ‘Roster’ panel on the left side of the My Team page. Click the ‘Edit’ button and enter your estimate for how much weight for the full tournament, in pounds and ounces, that the winner will catch. Then click the ‘Save’ button. Changing Anglers After completing your team, you can still change anglers each week as you set your strategy for that week’s tournament. To alter your roster, click on the red ‘-‘ Drop buttons to the right of the anglers in the ‘Roster’ panel on your My Team page. Choose your replacements from the free agency list of available anglers in order to add or drop an angler from your current roster in the same transaction. All roster changes must be completed by the scheduled tournament start time (approximately 6:00am).

I just looked and it appears that registration for leagues is already open. I will throw something together in the next few days and post here on the TR boards. -Brett

I will set something up in the upcoming weeks when BASS Fantasy Fishing's website allows registration for the upcoming season. At that time, I will post a new thread with the details on how to join our OAF league. Was a lot of fun last year and I think it went well. I hope that everyone that was on the "winners list" received a bait from those that were supposed to send. If anyone last year did not receive a bait from a participant last year please PM me as we will DISALLOW them this year. This was and is on the honor system but we need to weed out the deadbeats. Sloth - how it works is simple. Sign up with the login information I will provide for our private league. For each Elite tournament this year you chose 5 anglers from 5 different pools/groups. The higher they finish, the more points they net for that particular tournament. You want to accumulate the most total point by year end. Simple as that. Doesn't require a ton of time or thought (Probably the reason that Champ won last year ). At the end of the year each participant donates a bait to the "prize pool" to be divvied up between to highest finishers of the league. A bait a of your choice between $5-10 seems to be typical. Some were very generous, such as Donna who sent a custom painted wiggle wart as her "ante" into the league. Very gracious on her part. It's a bunch of fun and hope we have a larger amount of participants this year. For more info: http://bassmasterfantasy.com/HowToPlay.aspx

Nah, that's a cover. Him and Dave are holed up somewhere creating a new technique of spider rigging the Ned aka Varmint Rig which is said to be called the KanMo Rig. And you thought the Alabama Rig was lethal.......pfffffttt. You ain't seen nuttin' yet. To be released at the 2018 Bass Master Classic. Babler texted me this pic about a month ago that R&D was going well with Dave at the helm. Said Elaztech and mushroom style jigheads were "so 5 years ago", according to Super Dave.
-
I catch a fish every cast so the thought of cold hands never enters my mind. You should try it.
-
I wore the paint off a Crock-O-Gator about a month ago. All of 0 strikes on it. Not sure I would be cut out for Musky fishing.
-
Dave gets all hot and bothered when he sees pics of Zinkerz in that condition. Football season should be just about over. About time for Mr. Wonderful to get back on the boards.
-
Great report and nice pics. That Ned looks like it's been wet awhile, has a nice spongy bloat to it.

Oh, and as far as the night bite on Saturday night....awful. Thought with the full moon it would have been good....WRONG. Went to the usual places and got all of 0 bites. Fished from 1-30 feet with jigs, big worm and single blade spinnerbait....NADA. Some "perch" nibbles on the shallow casts but that's it. If I don't get a bite around point 2 then they have lockjaw and you might as well go home. I did notice that there are still plenty of blue gill/perch up shallow in <5 FOW. Another reason why I figured that I could find some of those "Gill Eaters" on shallow cranks, spinnerbaits and what have you. But again that proved to be wrong and that's fishing, not always catching. Puzzle pieces don't always go in the correct spot!
