Speaking of flooded, and flooding (ahem), we (United States) brought over 500 "athletes" (sic) to the games, way more than most civilized nations.
Still, I enjoy the Olympics and have been watching every day, sometimes for 5 minutes, sometimes for a few hours. It satisfies a sport and competition viewing need in me that differs from watching pro baseball or basketball or hockey or golf or football. My comment about beach volleyball, was, of course, facetious (I think). I watch just the same.
I think our women have more gold medals than our men. Besides Michael Phelps, what US man is NBC rallying around for a medal? (individual, not team)
