  1. After three pages of sound advice, Harris is still figuring a way to keep and adjust his current set up. So, let him. He'll fish it regardless, and still scratch his head on why nice fish get away. Harris- Get better equipment! Stop arguing!
  2. Huh? Why did my name come up here? I'm used to being disliked, but not in relation to baseball. Bud Selig is the worst name.
  3. Once, icegirly got hurt. Awwww. She wants to know how you big boys can prevent her from doing it again. Icegirly will be so grateful. She fell down. Poor icegirly. Please, be "her" hero. Thanks ever so much. ?

    What's Cooking?

That dish was prepared for a picture, not a hungry woman. Looks like it could use some salt and pepper and some chives or Italian parsley. Lets walk through this. A tired and hungry woman doesn't want to come home to an overprepared salad no matter how fussily its arranged. Then you have to deal with leftovers and her unspoken dissatisfaction.
  7. The only thing I curl these days is my hair...
  8. By taking tires and old cars out of rivers, that were actually providing a home and cover for aquatic species, and throwing them into dumpsters, which will be hauled off by gas guzzling and smoke belching vehicles and mindlessly dumped into yet another overwhelmed garbage mountain, your do gooder self congratulatory Clean Stream volunteerism is actually polluting the Earth worse.
  9. I know you have a right to wear a sleeveless t shirt, but I've seen better arms on a beanbag chair. The 70s called and want it back. Otherwise, splendid. The Big River. Those who know....
  10. What is possibly ironic, is, it's not the pleasure floaters and partiers and sheer volume of recreational visitors to our streams that harm smallmouth fishing, it's actually other fishermen. Be as offended as you want about the appalling behavior of many floaters, littering not withstanding, 99.9% of them aren't fishing, and therefore aren't taking smallies out of the stream. They have a right to be there equal to yours. Be angry about other fishermen who are actually doing the real damage.
  11. I thought you always fished solo. I'm waiting to read about a trip with another human.? Still, well written and enjoyable, as usual.
  12. Thankfully you two persevered and made it through this ordeal.

I got it. Wasn't upset or anything. Didn't go over my head. Nick Saban is well hated. I'm defending my daughters school (not too well obviously) that pays her to go there. And Nick Saban and his program, I believe, bring in money that allows the university to pay for her education. We're grateful. Upon further review, my response was, admittedly, pretty lame (shocking).

I'm right here, keeping the world safe for democracy. Lighten up. Just giving someone "the business" Beavers.

    What's Cooking?

Also. "Revenge" in the title of a personal website about food? Revenge is an angry word . Food doesn't deserve that. Food wants to be a source of nourishment and joy. Not revenge. Against who? Or what? I get it though. You'll take your ball and go home because some malcontent(s) don't appreciate your culinary acumen. "I'll show you, you miserable ....."

Ness, I think maybe its time to refinish or redo your deck. In a public photo, one doesn't want tired, old graying wood as a backdrop to a sandwich made with Wonderbread. Aged doesn't necessarily mean distinguished.
  17. ...tell you what....you fellers keep talkin' 'bout whisky and such... me? I'll keep drinking ...let me know when yer done with yer "discussion" .. I'll be here...doing what you fool tenderfoots yak about...

    By the Way....

Speaking of flooded, and flooding (ahem), we (United States) brought over 500 "athletes" (sic) to the games, way more than most civilized nations. Still, I enjoy the Olympics and have been watching every day, sometimes for 5 minutes, sometimes for a few hours. It satisfies a sport and competition viewing need in me that differs from watching pro baseball or basketball or hockey or golf or football. My comment about beach volleyball, was, of course, facetious (I think). I watch just the same. I think our women have more gold medals than our men. Besides Michael Phelps, what US man is NBC rallying around for a medal? (individual, not team)

    By the Way....

Why is women's beach volleyball seemingly the cornerstone of the TV Olympic experience? That they have to play at midnight just to give us prime time, live, coverage. Two weeks from now, Mrs Walsh and her bikini bottom will still be on, a prolonged semi final.

Comparing El Chapo to Nick Saban is a lazy and weak argument. Not to mention nonsense. A "good" person is subjective, especially to those millions of us who don't know him personally. If you and your family are passengers on a plane, would you rather have a pilot that was well liked, a "good" guy, but not really that competent, or a hard head jerk who is unloved, but generally perceived as the best in the business? (speaking of weak arguments)

Forgot Travis Ford is our basketball coach. Great local recruit in Jordan Goodman. Nice to see a premier local player staying "home" as it were. Hopefully things are on the upswing.

First year coach. Coming off terrible offensive year. Defensive studs gone. O line questionable. Mizzou just doesn't have the talent to have a winning season. Still, I will root, root, root for the home team. And, Roll Tide.

They just missed the beard and 70s shagadelic revival ala Chris Stapleton. Skynyrd for sure. That's the music biz and the now super fickle public, always on the lookout for the newest thing, which is generally something that has been done before. Only better. rps had a couple good ones, though I'm not generally a fan of the "let's get some stars together and make a record" music. I'm still an inveterate lover of punk rock:
  24. (Yawn) Good Morning! Did I miss anything? Right. Remember, Missourah is governed by a rural mindset.
