How would you feel about young black males using their right to C and C around you and your family and where you typically hang out? In Hannibal? Farmington? Mountain Grove? Sedalia? Gainesville? Exactly. Some of you racist crackers talk about gun rights and patriotism and heritage as if you invented it. Extend those rights to non whites, and your tone changes. Don't even pretend you would welcome young black males with sidearms in your neighborhood. However, you are right though. Someone armed like you could have prevented the Columbine school massacre. Or the somewhat recent melee in the Colorado theater. Or the recent event at the military installation. Or the recent rape and murder of that 12 year old girl, that recent homicide of that guy sitting in a car, or that old woman shot in the head in her home in affluent Sunset Hills. And on. And on. And on. You won't prevent or stop anything Barney Fife, Leave your weapon where kids can get to it and enjoy life.

Once you take yourself out of the equation, fishing simplifies. Everyone thinks that "they" are in control. By lure choice, or line choice, or retrieve method. That fishing "success" is dependent on what "we" do. That is just silly talk. Fish hit when and where they want. Has nothing to do with us or our abilities. As if our sheer determination and skill and lure choice will overcome and overwhelm the fish into biting. Hubris of the highest order. Just go fishing and have fun and hope they are biting. Don't worry about others who say they "absolutely slayed them" when you did not. Chances are they are lying. Fishing success is in the doing.

As a law abiding citizen, I can't tell you how much safer I feel knowing that certain older white middle class males are protecting me from harm as I go about my business in suburbia. They are heroes in my book. In fact, I think they should exercise their constitutional rights and use their conceal and carry permits and go to Wellston and Pine Lawn and Moline Acres and West Florissant and North St. Louis and keep the public safe. I'm quite sure they are tough enough. Imagine how much safer North St. Louis would be with our constitutional defenders walking around in their Wranglers and Reeboks with a holstered weapon at their side. Women would weep, children could play in the street, men would nod with respect. Neighborhoods revitalized. Gun toting white douche bags bringing peace to the black and violent north side. Yeah right. See you at Starbucks Deputy Dawg. Keep an eye out for suspicious yoga type women with large hand bags.
