  1. If you are pounding banks in high water, on the White, I wouldn't worry about brands. Jeez, it's combat fishing, and requires no finesse. Put something big on your line and then cast right next to the bank and yank it down quickly. Repeat. Then again, the White hasn't had big water for quite awhile.
  2. Jeremy Maclin is a reliable stud. Plus, he already knows Andy Reid and his offense, so there shouldn't be any learning curve. KC should have a darn good offense this year. Go Rams. Yay! Never mind.
  3. I will take a dose of Suzanne Pleshette. 1970s version. And Chicago Bulls tickets. Thank you. Question: Is it advisable to plant blueberries or raspberries next to woods (in my backyard) and just let them go and do their thing? In other words, grow wild with minimum human fuss? Plenty of sun. Also: The Bob Newhart Show was (is) hilarious.
  4. Hmm. Reminds me of "Winters Bone" those pictures. Yet, no Jennifer Lawrence. Anyway, I'm of the opinion that March, nowadays, is the end of winter, not the beginning of spring. So, why don't you chaps settle down with the plantings and such, because I'm nowhere near anything resembling planting. Thank you.
  5. Camp at Bull Shoals State Park on the White River. Beautiful spot, not too rough, has bathrooms, hook ups etc. Great fishing. After setting up camp, you can use your vehicle to access many different spots along the river to fish from the bank with relative ease. Remember however, the water can rise or fall at any time, given this river is a tailrace of a power generating dam.
  6. The access to Georges Creek IS Georges Creek. You have to park on that side road and schlepp your stuff either down TO the river or up FROM the river. Sucks, but, there it is. Do, or do not, there is no try.
  7. This girl lived. Will be bigger next year and years after hopefully. She might be a state record in a few years. Who knows. Her gene pool is all over the White. That's because I put her back in the water.
  8. It was a huge fish. Regardless of who caught it and how and why and whether he deserved it or earned it or any other thing we can come up with to minimize his accomplishment. He caught a monster where we all fish! Unfortunately, the big fish did not return to the water. We also have no proof that this fish was at the end of its lifespan. We have no idea. We all get lucky sometime. Nothing wrong with it. That's life.
  9. I don't think you can camp at Arkansas G and F river accesses on the Buffalo. There are campsites nearby most of them though. Or, whatever access you are using, there is generally a nice gravel bar up or downstream from your put in that you can use as a base camp.
  10. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Whew! Gosh, that was quite the zinger!
  11. My friend caught a nice walleye a couple of years ago in the park area. Apparently, walleyes come through the dam, just like shad, then go to town eating little trout. And keep eating. If you catch a walleye, keep it and eat it.
  12. So, there's your answer. Which is.... Both are well liked and you can't go wrong with either choice. As usual, water levels and color make a difference, other than that, I don't think one is "better" than the other. As usual, I say this: It's more important to go fishing as much as you can, than going to any specific, recommended stream using a certain lure with certain equipment. You definitely have choices around Ft. Leonard Wood though.
  13. Hard to take fish selfies
  14. Boy, I said a lot of dumb sh++ last year. Obviously, nothing changes. Smack? Shoot it in my veins every so often. Talkwise, fishingwise, I can back it up in spades.
  15. 1. Would someone please kindly reference and post the comment I made regarding the veracity of the number of fish Ham (or anyone else for that matter) caught? When or where did I actually say or post " I think (insert your name) is full of horseradish with the numbers of fish he caught..." 2. Calling someone a "hater" without any reference or example is intellectually lazy, even though it is currently tossed around publicly in a glib manner, for the perpetually aggrieved. 3. Fishing is fun! Why so serious?
  16. "There will eventually be video proof for the haters." Who hates you? And why would you post a video because of them? Shouldn't you post a video because you love fishing, like everyone else on the forum? Seems angry and vengeful. "but that's better than talking smack you can't back up. " Again, angry. Fishing is fun right?
  17. 50 fish in three hours seems good to me. I was not fishing today. Thanks for the bland report. It was....something.

  19. If you fish a different way, then leaders, and knots and line diameters and material become less important.
  20. Good thing those guys aren't paid.
  21. Trout or Bass? If bass, then, I don't know... Trout, on certain waters, I know ...

    What's Cooking?

Tierrierman: I am open-minded. Unfortunately, if one would look in my "open mind," it would reveal that there is nothing of substance or value in there. Cobwebs. Empty liquor bottles. Broken dreams.
  23. Stand corrected sir! Mr 3? Nah, nevermind.

    What's Cooking?

Did I post that? Of course I did! Sorry Ness, everybody. Came out wrong. Didn't mean to post. Meant to edit. I love cooking and love cooking for people I love. Love recipes. Was trying to make a different point, but, obviously, I effed up. Again, apologies. I was wrong.
