I have xps three bank charger, a cheap one as far as chargers, and instructions said leave it on all the time (in fact it explained to gain full life of batteries it needs to be left on), so I do. Been two years, so far so good.

More diversity in the answers than I would of assumed. 1. grub - smoke - flake or no flake, depends on the sun 2. tube - green 3. spook - blue shore minnow 4. ned - green (sorry ned advocates but it's a distant 4th reserved for tough days) 5. weightless fluke - albino (last resort) I like some of the other stuff mentioned, but mid april throught mid may that's all I wind up using; unless a close friend gives a solid tip then I may deviate.

That is a legit question. I don't have knowledge of Big Cedar but I always take a 100' extension cord because I often have trouble finding an outlet at the resorts we frequent. Boat parking and outlets for charging batteries are clearly very low on an architects design list. Been known to park where I'm not supposed for both charging and theft prevention purposes. Seems they always want you to park the boat a 1/2 mile away in some unlit non secure lot. Of course I could go other places but my wife has her favorites that, like the architect designed, have nothing to do with my fishing boat.

Thanks guys. Sincerely nice of both gentlemen. This rain should help them bass start moving. That nu tech might be a player tomorrow.

So if I bet one megabass 110+one on Phil to win, and he does, what does that pay back?

Where would we be if we would of compromised and found common ground with King George III?

Still have it? I couldn't find IMX mb 782 online. Is it Medium - Medium Heavy action or what? I'd probably go $50 and a 7' Shimano Voltaeus MH rod, either one, casting and one spinning, I have both. Never used. Or both rods and $20 cash. Or shoot me a counter.

This tragedy can't be made right, but reducing the families financial woes by spending a few bucks on a raffle ticket, or maybe five ... sign me up. Makes my desire for blue water black lights on my rub rail seem a little less pressing. Besides when I win that new Ranger I'd have just have to buy a new set for the new boat, so it can wait. If any of you are so inclined the family needs prayers too. I sincerely hope he makes a miraculous recovery. Reports say he's already exceeded the doctor's estimates on his rehabilitation (i.e. walking with assistance).

I caught an 18 inch rainbow trout on a 5inch grub near indian point on Febuary 5th. First one I've caught on tablerock. Of course the water temp was 44 degrees so conducive enough this time of year.

All taxes get passed down to the final consumer. Corporate tax. Use tax. Fuel tax. Import tax. They all get passed down through higher prices for goods and services. I'm not against reasonable taxes with fair and equal representation that are necessary for an advanced civilized society! Corporate greed is not the problem, but the result of an ultra intrusive government that regulates and taxes the small business and the middle class out of existence is. (forgive me, just ranting and probably overstepping this threads purpose) We live in a great country with great freedoms and I'm grateful. As out of balance as things seem they are still good with the potential to be great. I buy American made when all things are equal, but I ultimately spend my money on the product that gives me the most value/quality for my dollar. That's freedom. It's also capitalism. Forcing and limiting our choices, not matter how noble the ideal, is not conducive to the working class. (just my opinion)

Mann's 1 minus does work as a wake. Not the quality or quantity of fish as a redfin, but it works.

At 9pm Feb 7th, BPS in Springfield still had a display full of the Pro Qualifiers (probably 40). The sign said limit 2. I picked up 1. I'm ok with the BPS reels but doubt I ever buy another BPS rod. (Just my opinion don't get all defensive.) I'll head back later this week to find a rod (St. Croix or Shimano) to pair with it, but the family was with me (and it takes me forever to make a decision) and it was getting late so I just got the reel.
-
True, not sure why I mentioned a redfin at all . As I read this I can't believe all the stuff I forget to use. Not enough room on the front deck and not enough days on the water so I find myself sticking to the basics.

Abkeenan, You nailed it. Great list. Add a few redfins to #7 and Yamamoto 5" grubs to #5 and thats my gear. Well, I bailed on the A-rig #8, to much work. But I have at least twice as much tackle all neatly piled in tubs that I rarely use. Besides Abkeenan's list this is a great thread for newbies to the Rock. I occasionally go fish with folks that just don't understand why their favorite old crankbait rigged on their favorite heavy action 5'6" rod won't catch bass on the Rock like it did on _________(whatever pond name here). Of course they also look at me like a nut when I stop the boat at what feels like the middle of the lake and say "we're here".

This thread is covering it all! Funny stuff. Limited fnf experience -- probably 15 bass caught on it two years ago and most did not pull the bobber under. It lays over. Just not sure you'd see the bite with a slip bobber. Did not catch any last year in the same locations so clearly I need practice. I may have a rod for sale if they ignore it again this year. And yes coffee is a plus while waiting. megabass fly. probably coming. The durn punishers I bought were costly enough.

I need a date so I can ask off at work. If I get off at work I'll be there.

A little late but I also caught a few decent LM very shallow on 28th with spook. Not many bites but decent fish and they would just hammer it. Fun. Noted the minnows up on bank also.
-
I caught more today in 2 to 5 feet than I did deep (caught 5 fish with two keeps in about two hours around jackson hollow). Caught three on a jig and two on a spook literally on the bank. Only one spook fish would of kept (17 inch lm), the others, all k's, were just shy. Nothing on drop shot or flutter spoon in the abyss. Doesn't mean they weren't there, just means I couldn't find em, and given my time constraints I was limited to just a couple of points and one bluff end, and I used the four rods I had on the deck, never bothered to retie or try anything else.
-
That's funny right there.
-
Interesting! FYI: Several trips for me this Month (5) have produced probably 50% k's and 50% sm. Almost exclusively fishing 15 to 30 fow on long main lake points with anything small and green and sitting real still. I can't say I was worried but definately a larger percentage of sm than usual. Hopefully just an oddity and not a problem. I'm a nobody (I don't fish 300 days a year) but I never caught the K's dropshoting last year, not even close to the numbers I had been catching in the previous five years. But I always assume it's me not adapting. I lived with the dropshot mid june through late august in years past (catching K's). It did horrible for me last year.

Very cool seeing the youngster grinnin, and for good reason. Nice fish.

I think some guy or gal at the Cotton Cordel factory just laughs every time they change the size, weight, or number of rattles - or when they poor a little excess epoxy on the inside. Just to keep me guessing.

No floro (it sinks). Loop knot works on the line tie, or light split ring. Heavy wire hook on the tail. Light wire hook in the middle. And occassionally a suspending dot or 3 on the tail. And just accept that not every red fin is going to wake. Most of them can be adjusted to wake, but some cannot. At least not for my patience/tinker level, which is pretty high. On the retrieve: Rod tip very high, and slowly reel it watching for the wiggle, as the bait gets closer lower the rod tip to keep the wiggle going. I probably get 2 out of 3 to work with those modifications.
-
x2 - Redfins work and I haven't found anything else close when one of them runs just right, BUT one in four wakes just perfect after changing the hooks, changing the split rings, bending the line tie, adding suspending dots to the rear, and on and on.
