  1. Nice fish...and good job. definitely gave those guys a good memory with 4 pound smallies What size wobble head do you use? I bought one of the do it molds last year and have tried it some...but not sure if I am using them correctly. I’ve been using a3/4 mostly and fishing kind of like a faster football jig thanks
  2. I’m not very good either but I’d fish a Spinner bait, square bill and jig fish dirt shallow to 10 foot. I wouldn’t fish fish anything deeper than 15 feet. And I wouldn’t bother with trying to fish the docks. Crank the riprap around bridges...and any barriers around the marinas/resorts with the square bill Honey creek is good this time of year with a spinner bait jigs on channel swings in the big creeks...elk and duck the bass fishing has been in the tank for the past 10 years I think. It’s not a finesse type lake to me...more of a power fishing type lake. But maybe that’s why I struggle if you’re trailering your boat...martins landing is a good place to launch. Ivan was a great guy...and good fisherman. it is a secure place to leave your truck
  3. I’m sorry but we weren’t able to make it...good luck
  4. Jeez...I hope water temp goes up between now and next weekend. I’d rather fish for trout if water temp under 53 degrees
  5. There’s a boat under there...we might go tomorrow afternoon...just to loosen up the shoulder.
  6. If I can get all the hunting stuff put away...and off the boat. Me and jake are in...please sign us up. I’ll bring some cookies or something thanks
  7. Haven’t started in a couple years...pulled the rope and it won’t go think it’s a 73 tecumseh that needs a card rebuild. I’m not smart enough to do it...anybody that wants to feel the joy of making it go again...will deliver
  8. Youngest is ready for something bigger...is a good gun. he's a little guy and I bought for him when he was 10 or so. He is 5 foot 4 now...and wants something bigger. 22 inch barrel...accuchoke system. Full choke installed. 2 3/4 or 3 inch Camo is in good shape...no dings I think they call it the super bantam also have kids neoprene waders...size 7...Herters brand...only worn a couple times. ..like brand new. Will toss in free with the gun. $400...if you have a young son or grandson...you’ll be glad you bought it. Let me know...thanks
  9. Ya...it’s definitely getting easier for me. The boys are doing most of the grunt work now. They want to go back in the morning but there’s no way I can go back to back...and then work Tuesday. i drew #3 today...I’ll probably draw 23 next time but we made 3 proud today
  10. One more for good
  11. We got our limit...was a Christmas miracle funs times with the boys...that won’t be forgot
  12. We moved about 75 yards...up to 15...water dog is back to work
  13. 8 gwt so far this morning but are duck dog is down for a nap its tough to be the little guy
  14. Oh ya...it’s a monster. I just thought it was weird that the underbrush was still green in December...looks like the dogwoods should be blooming is all I was saying but we played tennis on Christmas Day this year too...so the times...they are a changing
  15. we went to the farm West of rich hill...lots of birds early that must’ve been roosting on the pond. Hopefully we didn’t scare em all off. We will try to draw-in Monday at 4rivers...but if don’t make it...will go back to the farm On the way home...Big bunches of snow geese in multiple fields in Richards area....thousands upon thousands Merry Christmas
  16. Did you see the comments on that webpage? People are nutz
  17. Big deer but it almost looks like he shot him in early in the year...leaves are awful green
  18. We were hunting a high spot...and it was covered in trampled down cockleburs. Those left standing were about 18 inches tall. We use the invisilay blinds covered in grass...and then raffia grass bundles scattered around. people in a frames and boat blinds struggled I’m sure...we could see em...and they stuck out...most left by 11. Birds really didn’t start flying til 2 we had fun...and a good memory...that’s all I care about
  19. We went to 4rivers yesterday...took all day but we got 10...mostly gwt was a fun day...We went north...just the two us went. I drew pill#5. Saw a bunch of snow geese headed south throughout the day...i was hoping some fresh mallards would come in...but never did. what mallards are around seem to be pretty educated the teal were acrobatic flyers...Responded to the calling...And fun to shoot at. Was a great day
  20. Good job...better than us.

    4rivers

Due to COVID...have to wait outside for the draw. So don’t forget your jacket like I did. Draw went smooth...but slower. it was a big crowd. 22 groups for 19 spots I think we got #11. I wanted to go north but Jake wanted to go to 3...Not as much water in 3 as last year...and cover is worse. not near as many ducks on the refuge as late last year but I’m sure the numbers will continue to increase. Big groups of teal dive bombed us a couple times in the morning. the mallards didn’t work the decoys. Not very many people hunting by the clubhouse after noon so the birds had the run of the place. we took our lunch and made a day of it. It was a nice day for a nap....pretty slow til about 3...but a lot of birds late we shot bad...and I said we need to shoot some bluerocks to practice...Jake said they won’t help...they’re nothing like hitting a duck while laying down in the mud...covered in grass and half asleep just the two of us went. 4 teal and one mallard
  22. Sorry...but I just saw this...I don’t crappie fish but if I was looking for some place to go...bone creek is an excellent lake...and I’m sure the crappie will cooperate

We drew in Saturday the 27th...any advice? I know all you duck killers are in a super secret club...but help a brother out. We drew #11 in the pre draw...I assume we’ll go north unless one of our fellow forum friends steer us another direction...
