  1. I upgraded - Candy Crush
  2. I am partial to the ol' molting craw look for Beaver Lake, personally
  3. I gotta buy Scott some dinner and maybe sweeten the pot with some painted lures to get him to show me how to use my graphs
  4. KVD and Jeff Kreit own Hydrowave. Now then, it's not the be-all end-all, and KVD has been quoted many times saying as such. Jason: remember the phone video I had a couple years ago from Blackburn when that school of minnows stayed with a few feet of the boat until I turned it off; then they went away, then I turned it back on and they appeared again? I think it helps keep active shad active, and of there are shad in a cove just hanging out, the machine can get them moving a bit. Does that male bass bite? Heck if I know - but I can make shad wake up with it.
  5. Spoons with a heavy action rod?
  6. Just check the weather before you leave.
  7. I've had some pretty decent success burning these lil boogers back parallel to the docks in Prairie Creek the last few early fall weekends. I'd just throw towards the bank as close to the edges of the dock as I could, let it sink just a second or so, then steady reel it back (bumping the rod every now and again). Hence, the artistic rendition below (I would be the handsome smiley face).....
  8. BONUS!!! Son just said that he is driving to Branson after work tonight!!! I sure hope the bass around Cow or Little Cow will offer some top water in the morning. Tomorrow is his first time on table Rock.
  9. I thought y'all must've been part of the Ozark Angler family - we're an awfully good looking bunch :-)
  10. I wonder if they are still making non-synthetic Premium Plus? I haven't seen any in the last several months. And I look every time I go to Walmart
  11. Nothing great, but had a bunch of fun. I went Neddin' (yep, just made Ned Rig a verb) first and caught a couple. I really like the finesse jig head Mr. Frank at Swing Oil Baits is making, by the way! Next was Little Cow Creek (the big dock that's kind of in the middle). I fished one stall for half an hour and boated 10-12 fish. I was throwing 65LB braid, so I don't know that I am still a believer in the whole fish-seeing-the-line deal... On the way back to the ramp, I stopped in Jake Creek for while. Square bill in 18'-20' of water got a bunch. Weird deal - they wouldn't look at a deep or medium crank, but they would eat a square bill in deeper water? Like I said, not one keeper, but I sure enjoyed (and am thankful for) the BEAUTIFUL day the Lord provided. P.S. one little guy was barely like her than my pliers. I don't think I'd like to run into him in a dark alley. Tough little man!
  12. My math always says: Bad day of fishing > Good day at work
  13. That looks like a blast!
  14. Don't bother. They are all tailgating at the High game today, and tomorrow the NFL will be on all day. Fished from 9:00 to 2:00 with only one bite which ended up wrapped in a tree - which then led to a broken rod. I am pretty sure my yard needs to be mowed....
  15. Love it!
  16. My humble advice would be to drop shot
  17. thanks, as always, for the info, brother Scott.
  18. They must be gettin' paid well, because they are eating well, my brother
  19. Well done / written / said, brother Scott. Thanks as always.
  20. Morning everyone! The family and I are headed to our timeshare in a couple weekends. Anyone know of any bass tourneys going on 9-27 and/or 9-28? Fun fishing if no tourney can be found, but I always like to see if there is a tourney to be fished (I like to keep learning!) I tried a google search, but came up with nada. Thanks everyone.
  21. I learned this tidbit in Florida: Take the front pro off. Make sure the back prop is as loose as it can be without getting caught up in hook / split ring. Bait not only does the prop thing, but spits, dives a little, wiggles, etc.. I like to fling it as far away from me as I can through a row of trees, rip-rip-pause..................rip-rip-pause.............. when the pause happens right by a tree, I'll give it a couple slight twitches with a few seconds' pause in between - then back to the rip-rip-pause..............deal. If there are feathers on the back hook - think about cutting them off and tying a few strands of rubber jig skirt material instead (just figured this out the other day playing around with feather hooks - looks more like little fish than feathers).
  22. I'm lost on this whole conversation... I "Googled" Wooly Booger.... First thing I saw: Then this: And finally, this one. If y'all think that I'm going to believe that you can use and catch fish.... You must think I'm a real
  23. Please allow me to second (or thrid or fourth...) all of the congratulatory wishes, brother!
  24. Many a football game started in the front yard and finished in the back
