Seriously? You mean to say I gotta run down to Buck Hollow from KC and jam a stick in the ground or spray paint some bridge pillars because of the Governor elect? Golly... never saw that coming...
-
Wasn't pulverized. They boil them things and my first bite was whole snout first. Miss Piggy! There's meat in there but the sauce helped. Far as the screen door reference? Vaseline called. Sales are down...

always used Abandoned River Ranch in the old days. I believe Connie and Jerry were their names. Did overnighters and only had an issue once with camping on a gravel bar where a mom and daughter were very nice and let us slide. Had camp set up in a pouring rain and were doing our best to get supper on. I'd like to get back down there because I knew what I was fishing for but from mid river (or creek) down... you'd get surprised at certain times of the year.
-
Seriously? The dog was OK and your leg was messed up and you left?
-
Great video of you guys. Was glad to see a lard jam was avoided at the bridge... Evan

just won the Division II basketball championship the same school year they won the football championship. Watched the game on CBS today. Pretty good little D-II school we have up here in the N.W. corner of the state who's PG was the D-II player of the year. He played at Blue Springs South and is an awesome player. Kim Anderson... where were ya on him buddy?

Mizzou needs immediate fortunes such as the one that just befell them. He's a one and done but Counzo will have two or three recruits come in to play with him. We've NEVER landed the top recruit in the country. Things are looking up Mizzou fans. Now... if we could just get a football coach. Proven names recruit the best players. It is what it is and always has been.

When I saw Chuck Berry died earlier in the week for whatever weird reason I thought of Chuck Barris. Then he dies a few days later...
-
Yep (I think)... and Yes for sure... and... ok brother, but lots of better places up here. Especially on the Blvd.

Drove down and ate me a snoot sandwich here in KC on SW Blvd. after seeing an episode of Bizzare Foods on the Travel Channel. Wasn't bad but messy as heck...(heck is an ok word on this forum right?). It was boiled. Ate the thing snout first. The show said the St. Louis (little Chicago) guys pound it flat and deep fry it. I think that'd be better. The fries were cut super thin like fried tators. Grease and garlic worked for me! The Zantac bailed me out overnight...

Well, saw this just under a year late. Why didn't you McD's fans point him to the Steak Inn over in Shell Knob?

Feel for ya Trophy. Best to choose what direction YOU wanna go after conferring with medical people from all fields. I've had seven spinal column surgeries. Started in '04 with my neck. Three surgeries later fused from C-3 to C-7 with 16 screws and 5 plates. Had a condition called Myelomalacia (bruising of the spinal cord). Stenosis had started but I waited too long. Doc's at KU Med spine center said surgery was my only option. Can't use my right hand worth a hoot. Atrophy in forearm and fingers won't straighten. Messes with casting and tying line amongst other things. Stenosis spread to my lower back. Three surgeries again fused from L-2 to L-5 but no titanium. So... still the lumbar area was killing me. Last surgery was an outpatient deal having a spinal cord stimulator implanted in my lower back . It has helped but it's kind of a pain in the posterior. Has your Doc mentioned this? Here's the good news... I still get out to fish. Do solo river trips carefully. It's the getting around and about that's slowed down but as long as you have family and friends who help ya out it's all good. I'm no Doc from any field, but whatever you decide to do I don't think it'll keep you off the water at this point. Good luck to ya...

Jeez Ness, only 5? Can't do it bro. I gotta just make a list that might go on and on... Shawshank Redemption Outlaw Josey Wales True Grit Unforgiven The Godfather Godfather (part 2) Goodfellas LA Confidential The Cowboys Dances With Wolves Pulp Fiction Inglorious Basterds Hard Times Once Upon A Time In The West The Quick And The Dead Cool Hand Luke Jeremiah Johnson The Usual Suspects Reservoir Dogs Plenty of others I could list. I was born in '59 so I appreciate the movies from the 40's and 50's too. Probably another list to come from that era and a few others that I didn't really forget... it's just time to go to bed 'cause my wife's there already! ; )

Who's planning an overnight float this fall?
KCRIVERRAT replied to LittleRedFisherman's topic in General Angling Discussion
Don't know how many days you have for your trip but I've always liked the Shawnee Creek to Two Rivers trip. Lower river so plenty of water. It's only three and a half miles so with the fading daylight you can take your time and fish it slowly and thoroughly. If you don't have your own canoe or yak call Anita at Two Rivers Canoe. She'll set ya up. If you wannna a longer overnighter start at Eminence.I've fished the whole river. Springtime the upper river is where it's at. Have a great trip with your brother! -
are there Goggleeye this big in the Ozarks area?
KCRIVERRAT replied to Jerry Rapp's topic in General Angling Discussion
That thing pulled us a sixteenth of a mile up the creek. Into a headwind. Was at least a twelve and 1/8! Canoe was barely able to handle it. Cain't imagine what a 14teener could do... -

Park in the cornfield. It's Wal-Mart. -
Gonna miss Brent. His articles were simple. He spoke to everyone who loved the outdoors. I couldn't wait for both his spring fishing and fall hunting outlooks in the sunday Star.
