  1. What snakem said!
  2. The death trap hooks bill refers to are dangerous to humans! You even look at em cockeyed and they are sunk into your hide. Use extreme caution when using these.
  3. Read the posts! Al current info on them.
  4. At the cow creek ramp?
  5. I believe the state record of 18.1 caught at rr is a little bit skeewed anyway. The hatchery turns loose an old brood sow and someone catches it in a small pool of water. Its still a record but just seems tarnished.
  6. Let us know how that spook thing works out. I hope you catch some fish on it.

    Drought?

  8. Picked up My Son and 7 year old Grandson just before daylight at Moonshine. Saw 3 of the guide boats Bill had mentioned bobbing around in front of the spillway and point. Didnt see any action so we bugged out of there. WE fished gravel runouts and points in 45 ft. to 60 ft deep. The fish were 24 to 26 ft so set my Grandsons crawler at 20 and they came up to eat it. I started out with a kut tail worm but they were"nt having it. Switched to a small crawdad and they jumped on it. Picked up 2 to 4 fish per spot with one area giving us most our fish. Ended up with 15 to 18 with 3 0r 4 keepers. Heard my Grandson yell from the back of the boat several times, This fish is strong, Grandpa help ! Dad was there in back to render aid so I just sat back and chuckled. Caught several tube fish when I swung in shallow enough to fling it. Our bite ended around 9 :30, off the water at 11. It was getting hot and young uns get impatient if you dont keep em on the bite. Glad I was able to find some for the lttle guy.
  9. It sucked big time Sunday. I had talked to Bill around 8:30 and they had 3 and that was it so far. I hadnt even got bit yet! I told Bill I wasnt coming back in until I caught at least 1. Ran back to an area that I had caught 15 on Saturday. Still nothing, boats getting worse sun getting hotter. I was fishing from Cow to point 1. Around 11 I pulled up to a busy resort area and started dragging my tube. It saved the day as I took a 4 pound smallie, 1 squeeker keeper smallie and a short smallie off of it. Dragging the tube with the boat in 30 and working it real slow back. I called it quits after that. Top is almost a no go. I threw a few spooks on some chasers and they just laughed at me. I did throw a spoon at 1 chaser and he hit it. Only had him on a couple of cranks though. Sometimes it sucks, thats fishing.
  10. This was just posted on FB by Rick Kettles, owner of Lakeside Resort. The picture caption was bad day to be on Table Rock. I dont recognize the area. This just goes to show ya, we need more gravel bars !
  11. I too was wondering about the freshwater shrimp Jeremy.
  12. I think you are staying at the wilderness, if so Dewy Short would be your best bet. Go across the dam and its the first right. Cant miss it. Lots of shoreline there to fish.
  13. LMAO !
  14. Long creek dumps into the white right in front of the dam, so technically from there to Cricket creek is Longcreek arm. We just dont refer to it as Longcreek until you get under the bridge. So you are right Buckcreek. Bill lives on Longcreek arm and according to the Book Shepard of the Hills, all the mean people live on Longcreek !
  15. You right, south of the dam is longcreek.. I always say I am in longcreek when I go under the bridge. 5 or 6 miles south of the dam would put you about the Arkanasas line , and Bills right its probably getting skinny down there.
  16. On at 5 off at noon. Eat some breakfast, Take a snooze.
  17. Where did you get that color of tube? I told Mark to put em behind the counter and dont sell em to anybody but me !
  18. Was fishing a runoff this morning and had a small blowup 50 yards from me. Went over to them and they had went down so I dropped a spoon down and it had went 15 ft a spot hit it. Dropped down 7 times with 7 fish, 3 spots and 4 whites. On the eighth drop I caught this guy, a 6 or 7 pound drum. I guess thats my first drum on Table Rock that I can remember. Had to get off the troller while getting that drum in, what with having to go to the back of the boat to get the net. It blew me off of the mother load and I couldnt find them again. Felt like an idiot not being able to find them again. All 3 of the spots were keepers. My weekend fishing was fair to poor as most of my fish i caught were short with the exception of dropshot and spoon fish. Top water bite was poor as having only 1 or 2 each morning. Had 0 on top today. Dragging a tube got me bit but like I said most were short. On the water at 5.15 off no later than noon, mainly because of weekend boat traffic. Today I was off at 9.00 . Saw Bill today and said howdy. Its tougher than it needs to be for this lake fishing small.
  19. Champ aint fibbing about his dock prowless. Seen him flip a jig in a 3 inch crack. When I asked him, how the hell you going to get em to the boat if you catch one, he replied " we will worry about it when the time comes ! Going to try to find some smallmouth this morning.
  20. Thats why I dont fish on holidays. One encounter with an idiot just wrecks the whole day. And all the idiots come out on Memorial day. Hope they got sunburned real bad. Sounds like the ramp bullies were spoiling for a fight, you did the right thing driving off, it might have got ugly.
  21. This weekend was a perfect example of crowded and close. KVD had over 200 boats Sat and Sun, Joe bass Sun, and a club tourny out of Aunts Creek that I know of. The big flats and points we all fish can handle 2 or 3 boats on them without crowded me or someone else. It all comes down to common sense and courtesy. I dont mind being pulled in on if I am fishing a big area, and I will do the same. Had an older gentleman running a conservation survey boat come up to me while I was fishing Sunday. He cut his big motor 200 yards from me to an idle and when he got to within 50 yards he shut it off and put his troller down. I thought to myself, what a nice guy. While talking to him I had my bait just hanging in the water about 10 ft deep and had a fish hit me. I pulled it up and and unhooked it and let him look at it before putting him back. He got a kick out of it.. Guess what I am trying to say is the extra boat didnt seem to bother the fish one bit, its just us humans that get or noses out of joint. I do get puffed up sometimes, but just swallow it down and go on.
  22. I went there with the wife, that being said I am not a fan of contemporay art, For me it was like watching grass grow. Maybe if you smoked a fat one before you went in it might help. I guess Rosy the riviter was pretty neat. Its free though .
  23. I could do that if they let me weigh 2 fish, maybe . my guess is 7.68 Oh by the way biggest last year was 8.77 and it was held a month earlier last year.
  24. You used to live in Owatonna? I used to live in Kenyon. Small world.
  25. Back of North little Indian.
