  1. I say Leeches. It is the natural 'be all / end all' to many trillions of fish.
  2. I just ran my Norton "quick scan" and I had 33 tracking cookies. So I ran it again and it was 0. Then I came to O/A and posted about the frying fish topic. Then ran Norton again and it was 3 tracking cookies. So I know O/A has tracking cookies... but its a shame to think a virus could be hosted here.
  3. I am going to try Wayne's trick with frying the potato first to rid the oil of any "extracurricular" flavors.
  4. Hello all - time to speak graphite : I am actively seeking out an 80's model Orvis Far & Fine 7'9" 2pc 5wt fly rod. - also - an 80's model Orvis Trout 8ft 2pc 6wt Need both rods. Please email me if you have one (or both!) or whatever. Thanks very kindly, Brian
  5. Yeah... Jeff Fisher it is! I am sure one of us will see him around these parts fly fishing... perhaps both he and his son. Did anyone see that FOX Sports special where he was fishing Montana ?? He and his son were wet wading great looking water - and catching lots of trout. His son did catch more as you would imagine.
  6. Flatfish still catch fish too!
  7. This is going to be fun! Bigger, better, stronger....
  8. Surprising how many larger fish were caught. Nice looking male for the big fish too!
  9. I couldn't even see the forum... even now it is super slow. ugh.
  10. Snow - thanks for your reply. You can talk with LLBean about them and they will take care of you. Better than Orvis. in my opinion. just a thought.
  11. Plenty of reels left.. if you like Pflueger Medalists.. or AbuGarcia flyreels.. or maybe Ryobi reels.. just none of the latest mumbo jumbo. I have some great knock off Japanese Hardy models from the '70's and '80's.. and a few Tibor/Pate's and old 1980 Fenwicks and some early Abels too. Once again - a big thank you all of you have bought a reel (or two) from me thus far. Hopefully someone else out there wants to fish a classic. No more bumping this post from me. Brian Thanks Phil for providing such a great place for us to trade/sell/buy from!
  12. Great fish.. I hope to see the article soon.. and what fantastic silly banter between you silly gooses.. or is it geeses ?? oh wait its geese.. shiver me timbers.. mr hat.. or commence to jigglin'
  13. Snow - I too had the LLBean Aqua Stealth boots.. I really liked them.. but they didnt fit on me after 4-5 trips and I just couldn't get them to fit right anymore. They said order same size for those.. .. well not for me. I also know what you mean about slipping out from underneath you on incredibly slick rocks.. only my backwards fall was in Arkansas at Rim on the White. I had to throw my rod in the water and turn and jump for the water as I was falling out from underneath myself backwards. It was awful. The bruises were worse. Thankfully my rod reel setup survived with nary a scratch.
  14. rfd - man.. I think when I get your fly via this swap I am just going to eat them myself !!!! no chance any fish will ever see them ! my little size 18 tubing midges will look like a grain of rice next to that ginormous thing
  15. skiburd - I am gonna do a pair I just picked up... we should do them at the same time together and see who's boots turn out to either last longer with the treatment or what. by the way, I also got those closeout Cabelas boots and man, screwing the free Chota STL studs was a total pain!
  16. I gotta tell ya - that was funny! Possible nomination (in my humble opinion) to Post of the Year! (which I made up by the way) Hope you move her to a good new home too!
  17. Wading or boating ? Fly fishing or spin fishing ? Large guy or small guy ? any kind of accent ? white hair ? might be jim lund... michigan accent I am sure we can get you the guys name. Brian
  18. " My Chotas are seven years old. Fished all over the place with them. I ordered out a new pair of Redingtons today. If they last as long as the Chotas I'll be 80 years old by then. I figured to fish until I'm 90, and then see how it goes from there. " More power to ya. Great post.
